I have lurked on these boards for years and have never been as excited for a thread as this one! So excited it has prompted me to post!

I have a travel agent that is very good and will be on the phone first thing tomorrow for me. I used a travel agent this time because there are eight of us going and I thought it would be easier for her to do all the changes. Plus I didn't want to have to get up at 4:00, although I doubt I will be able to sleep!

We are currently booked at POP and were going regardless of any discounts being offered. (this trip has been in the works for over a year!) Now that there is a possibility that we can upgrade to Port Orleans Riverside and stay on budget, I am beyond excited! This trip is for my 50th birthday and the fact all three of my adult sons are able to go is amazing. If I get Riverside, this will be one of the most perfect birthday trips ever!

Thanks to all that have provided valuable information that has helped me be specific with what I want to my travel agent. You all are GREAT!!!

LOL CaraMia!!! LOL! I think I'm losing my mind! First this and then hearing about the Poly having construction! I have the biggest headache My DH thinks I am losing my mind. I have no idea whats going to happen until tomorrow morning! LOL!

I think I'm set on POR, with the last night's stay at AoA Cars. I figure that is a great way for my ASD boy to try out a value resort as far as sensory stimulation, without making the whole vacation miserable...I can handle one day. : )
I'll likely have to mess around with dates a little to get what I want though. If not, I'll try again in February for the s/p/d offer.

Just gave my TA my request for upgrade options. I'm thinking it will be CBR and I'll miss out on POR, but who knows. I wanted FQ, but that's out with the exclusion.

I am so hoping I'm not disappointed with CBR. I've read/heard mixed reviews. Going with a positive attitude and not to high expectations.

If you want, go on YouTube and put in cbr walkthrough. I'm sure you won't be disappointed

When this free dining is released tomorrow am I able to apply it to my current reservation? How does this work. I am also a disney visa card holder.

Another issue my hubby just asked is....with us having to do two reservations to get the FD...if it comes out...is that going to wipe out all of our ADR's already made under our current reservation....please...please..say it won't...

A am currently booked at ASMo for October 19th arrival. Since FD is top priority for our family, I want to cancel and switch to a different resort.

My ASMo trip is completely paid for and was booked before the price increases went into effect. Will I definitely lose that rate when I switch from ASMo to a different resort for Free Dining? I switched a few weeks ago (after the rate increase) from ASMu to ASMo and did not have to pay the new rates.

My other question is, am I better off canceling my package today for ASMo and rebooking online tomorrow at a new resort with FD? I'm a bit worried I won't be able to get through when the lines open tomorrow before I go to work and I don't want to lose out on our next resort choice. I REALLY don't want to get stuck at ASSp! If I cancel today and rebook tomorrow, how long before I'm refunded? I am more than 45 days out from our trip.

As long as there is still availability under the promotion for your current room type when you call, they can apply FD to your reservation. If there is no availability, they will give you options on what you can do to get it and modify your current package to whichever option you choose.

I am an expert this week on calling in... If you call at 6:59am you get the "We are not open yet.....blah blah blah" At 7am, it rings right into the "Welcome......"

That might be wishful thinking, but that's what Im going with, so I can focus and not freak out for the next 20ish hours. (even if only half the rooms are avail for FD, that's still ALOT of people.

For anyone planning to book at POR, I heard thru the grapevine that they are going to drain the river for refurb and dig up all the landscaping to replace the dirt, just wanted to give everyone a heads up to book elsewhere tomorrow......LOOOOOOOOL, I'm just poking fun at us seagulls that are currently circling over POR like a turkey vulture over roadkill ;-)

It will not be anywhere close to half. Maybe 100 rooms or less would be my guess.
