Congratulations on your 30th Anniversary!!!! What a magical place to celebrate!

I second that! My parents celebrated their 25th anniversary at Walt Disney World (when I was 20 and my brother 16) and they took us with them. Stayed at the Grand Floridian. Such a magical place to celebrate.

Thanks so much! We are excited to go. We were planning to book a Deluxe but we decided to book a trip for other family members so we went with POR. I had to chuckle when I talked with CM to make the reservation. He asked if anything special was going on, so I told him it was our 30th anniv and he said "Oh, I have to tell Mickey". LOL!

I have been called Smitch, Smith, even Sir (still cracking up over that one), and now I can add Smidge to the list.

"Sir" - that would be me. Geez, sorry about that. I didn't see an avatar pic at the time. I guess I assumed it was your hubby in the picture there. Or maybe I was just on a Disney buzz! :rotfl:

I'm feeling pretty excited about our trip now (after yesterday's panic attack). We'll be at a deluxe resort. A boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. That's really cool for my son's first trip to Disney. I'd already stayed at all 3 of the moderates on past trips, so this is a nice change.

I'm glad you were finally able to get this squared away for your trip! :cool1:

If you have an existing reservation at an eligible resort and you have already added a dinning plan, are you able to modify your reservation to take advantage of the free dining plan?

Yes they just modify your current reservation with FD.

Someone commented about the DV card and I have to agree. You do not really get a bang out of it.

We keep one but it is not the card we use the most.

We have an SPG AMEX and love it. We rack up points for Sheraton stays like crazy. In fact after we leave WDW we don't have to pay for any lodging for the six other nights of our Florida trip.

I have been booked at FQ since January. Was hoping for FD. Looked at other options when FD was rumored, but stuck with FQ as we love it there. It seems like alot of people bailed from FQ to take advantage of FD. If enough rooms become available, is there a possibility that Disney will offer FD at FQ during the same time period?

No, we had two rooms booked at POR with dining plans and they wouldn't apply the promotion to the rooms, even though they would have been eligible so we switched resorts. :(

I heard a lot of people were double booking and they will be canceling the second reservation. Disney should not allow a double booking!

I know double booking was the only way for me to get a discount. I cancelled as soon as I could get through on the phone line, I'm sure others did as well.

This cluster wasn't caused by double booking it's caused by Disney releasing it differently than all the other years.

Black, to answer your question, I'm feeling a little scared. I'm just not excited about CBR. It's stinking HUGE, the 6 bus stop, double beds.... I'm going to have my TA keep trying and checking back. I don't know what I have learned from this, honestly!

I am feeling the exact same way!!! You never know though, we might absolutely love it!

After 2 seperate 1.5hr holds yesterday and an hour this morning....I finally got through. I didn't get POR for our dates.....I had to change to CSR. My husband is totally stressed out about this. We've stayed at POR for the last 5-6 years and we LOVE the ab section. The CSR is the only moderate we haven't stayed at. We don't like CBR at all....and POFQ is ok but we much prefer POR.

So .....someone tell me we will love CSR!! PLEASE!!!

In order to get the Free dining - I had to change resorts from Movies to Music - there were no preferred locations left - anyone have any suggestions for a standard room location? I want to be close to the food court and the bus stop....

Me too. If Disney allowed modifications and cancellations on their website, I wouldn't have double booked. But I wasn't going to miss the deal while I was on hold for 2 1/2 hours. I canceled as soon as I got an agent on the phone.

I've been following along even though I'm not going back to WDW until Nov. 2014. I just wanted to tell those of you that upgraded to WL with FD that you are in for a treat! We stayed there last year and it was absolutely amazing. We had no complaints. My son was 3 at the time and it was his first trip to Disney. I think he loved the resort more than some of the parks!

I didn't plan on CBR either, but I'm of a mind that everything happens for a reason and I think we'll be happy there.

My brother stayed there in Feb and loved it, so I'm hopeful I will too.

I've stayed at all 3 moderates and have enjoyed my stays at them all. Coronado Springs is really nice. The Southwestern design is nice. The pool is really nice too. It's a bit spread out, due to the convention center, but there are a lot of nice amenities. I went on a trip with my mom several years ago, and she has Parkinson's (back then early stages, she's in a wheelchair now) and she managed to walk around quite well.

You'll have a great time.

I just wanted to let everyone know I called early yesterday to change our package to free dining. My first choice was POR but they only had Royal Guest Rooms available with FD Pk. So I booked CSR instead. This morning, I just wanted to double check and they had POR Garden View rooms available :cool1: so I called and changed at promptly at 7am. It took a few minutes to apply all the credits and all but I had my first choice!!! :yay:

Keep checking everyone!!!

Thanks for letting me know! :thumbsup2

I'm hoping my son will enjoy it. I think he will. He'll like the boat ride to MK for sure!

Just a quick question. I'm booked at POP & not changing cause I would have a very angry teen on my hands. Lol. I'm just wondering why everyone seems so opposed to the royal rooms at POR. Are they small, horrible or what? :)

Ok...true...they need to have FD rooms left. This fall promo is brutal. They seem to be very limited.

I have 10 y/o DS who would not be happy with princess themed room at POR Royal Guest room and it's more than $40 extra/night for it. I would love to stay there but it's not worth it for me since DS would not be happy.
