Which thread?

There is an October MB and FP+ specific thread. I'm subscribed to that one, to the September one and to the FAQ one as well. Obsessed much?? I know.... :-)

There is a purple cover that is shown a lot. It's the haunted mansion wallpaper background.

Yes, I saw that, thanks. I guess it'll be my back up plan.

18 days prior to arrival for the email invite? Never got the email invite, but the MBs arrived this week (Wed or Thurs) & as of today, we still have 20 days before our arrival. :confused3

Let us know if you get the invite in 2 days. I've heard people say they got a letter in the mail and some an email.

Will do, although sending a letter/email at 18-day mark when they sent the MBs to us around the 23-day mark seems more than a little pointless. :rotfl2::lmao:

Tried to do some FP+ selections just to see how it (or if) it works. I could get passes for my DD, DGD and myself, but not my DSIL. His avatar was grayed out, and there was a message about not being a magic+ participant. Now, I understand that the MBs are in test phase so not everyone will get one until they're in full operation; but excluding 1 member of your travel party???? Somehow, I don't think he'd be very happy if we went on in to an attraction or ride and waved to him as we passed him stuck in a long line!

I agree but we have to remember for every one of us there are probably 10 others that are clueless about any and all of it. Lol!

Does he have his own MDE? My DH signed into his and it automatically took his info from me. He had to go back in and I had to show him how to give me permission to edit his stuff. I know he didn't edit it b/c he was clueless about it all.

I didn't do online check in, and I was able to customize the MBs (DD - blue, DGD - pink, DSIL - green and red for me). Speaking of which, :thanks: for the posts on MBs. I hadn't logged in to MDE in awhile so didn't know they would be available for our stay at POR Sep 12 - 21. As soon as I read about it here (last Monday - Aug 19), I logged in & customized them. Good thing I didn't wait to do that. My daughter received the magic bands yesterday! Would have been a bummer to be stuck with all gray ones and no names on them. Btw, the names are on the underneath side of the band so they aren't visible to anybody else.

That is awesome! When is your trip again?

And kids under 3 won't get a magic band? My daughter got a KTTW card when she was 18 months so figured she'd get a band if we did.

Any idea how fast pass+ works with rider swap?

I've seen a pretty nasty debate over this on another thread. These are the two opinions and I'd like to add for clarification that these are NOT my opinions.

1. Schedule a FP+ for both parents and tell CM you need a rider swap (according to this person you are not "cheating the system" that way)

2. Schedule a FP+ for one parent and tell CM you need a rider swap. Both parents will get through FP line and be able to ride (according to this person this is how its always been done and how they were told to do rider swap by a CM).

I have never done rider swap and have no experience with it. There are many people who have done it each way and are VERY passionate about the particular way they have "always" done it.

That's the word on the other threads, no MB's for little ones. I totally understand the issue with this. I had to purchase a mug for my little one last trip. The problem being that during the test the MB are not available for purchase and when they are, the estimated cost is at least $100, if not more. I think this area is a big fail for Disney. They don't seem understand what parents go through when it comes to things like this. The other thing I am happy about with the MB is if my kids get lost all their info and mine is on those bands. Huge + for me but don't think it should be any different for the under 3 crowd.

Oh goodness. Didn't realize this was a hot issue!
We have one kid who is 6 and another who will be 2. We usually got two regular fast passes - for one adult and one kid, and then got a rider swap and the other adult and same kid would ride again.
Thanks for the info. Glad to hear you can still use rider swap with fast pass+, maybe they will formalize how it should be done with all the changes.
I never really thought you could use rider swap to "cheat the system" -- just want to make sure both parents can ride with our 6 year old! But I'm sure people figure out how to cheat everything.

I do like that my info is on the band if my kid gets lost! Parents worst fear!
I hope they sell something that looks like a band then, a "dummy" non-magic band or something, for the younger crowd. DD will be 2.5 so old enough to know she is missing something! But certainly won't pay $100 for it! Would be nice to have info on it though!
