Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Hello all. First time poster here, but long time follower. I called Disney yesterday because I had to change my daughter's birth date and you can only do that by phone, not online. I am going in November, and was just talking with the CM about our trip, and things we have planned, etc. Well, he basically said, "Now with you going in November, make sure you keep your eye out over the next few weeks for the fall discounts to be released. I can't tell you specifically what they are, and the exact date they will be released, but I can tell you they will be good." I pressed him just a little further for more information on specifics, but you all know how that goes. He did say, well, maybe it will happen the last week of April, but historically, more like the first week in May." Now, I know we have to take everything that each individual CM tells us with a grain of salt, but I took that as good news regardless. Anxious like the rest of you, and I hope April 23rd is the release date, that would be fantastic! :yay:

We went the week before Thanksgiving last year, and have it booked again this year. Things we enjoyed about that week: super low crowds, Christmas decorations were up, it wasn't smoldering hot, free dining

But, now I'm thinking about the last week in October. It got pretty cold last year and we enjoy spending time in the pool (I will have a 7 year old, 6 year old, and 2 year old), so I'm thinking Oct might be a little warmer. We did MVMCP last year and probably wouldn't do it again this year. The Halloween party sounds amazing though!

How are the crowds that week? It looks like FD is typically offered then, if I'm seeing correctly? I'm in need of someone to persuade me one way or the other!!

Have you check crowd forecasts on tourningplans.com? That's a great resource for me in planning. Not sure the weather differential would be significant or not. I'm sure there are forecasts out there!

I have! The crowds definitely look busier… in the 5-7 range so that is certainly something for me to consider!

It does help, thanks. I think the only thing I'm worried about is my credit card being linked to everyone elses magic bands. Even if its not charged right away, with that many people were never going to be able to look at a list of charges and know who bought what to divide it up. I guess my question is, can each room have a different credit card linked to their magic bands at check in if I'm the one that booked all of the rooms?

You can easily do this. Also

I called to see about pin codes yesterday (of course mom has one yet again but only through the end of August so doesn't work!) but anyways when I asked the CM told me they don't know any information until a day before when they are given their "homework" because Disney knows they like to help everyone out so they are not given any advance notice.

Thanks for this info! And yes...we all know it's not 100% but....it's something to hope for! I'm excited!

I loved the Halloween party! Hardly any lines on the rides and lots of kids were in costume. My sister and I dressed up...we had a blast!

That's exactly how it works.

How is it temp wise at the end of September compared to August? We usually go the middle/end of August and it's hot and humid. I keep reading that September has great weather, but have no idea what to expect.

I've been in September twice...it was very hot and humid! Going in November this year....prefer cooler weather.

No, September is still blazing. Don't let anyone fool you. That is when we go every year. There is frequent rain, though, which we allow to cool ourselves down in. :)

I think it's roughly the same. Maybe a bit more humid because of the additional rain.

Hi, we have gone every year for the past 5 years in October (3rd week usually), and we go mainly for the MNSSHP, which is a terrific event. HOWEVER, I have noticed that in the past couple of years and especially last October, the crowds were very high. I kept asking my husband, "what's going on?" I asked several cast members and many of them mentioned that certain schools in the mid-west have a Fall break during that time. We were so turned off by the whole experience that we vowed to wait a few years to go back to MNSSHP. It's a shame because we were not able to go on the amount of rides we used to. Even the party itself felt really crowded (even though there is a ticket limit). Last year we went on the Friday before Halloween to the MNSSHP and in hindsight I'm thinking we should have gone on one of the weeknights instead. The weather is beautiful in October and all the Fall decorations make it really magical. I would definitely recommend going for the whole experience in October and just research a little on what night to go before buying your MNSSHP tickets.

New here and so glad I found you guys. Waiting for pin codes to roll in can get very frustrating :worried: I only received one pin code in all the years we have gone to Disney. This year, after booking BLT for August and not getting the Summer offer, I am determined to get FD or some other offer. I did all the things they tell you to do to increase your odds of getting a PIN--got on every email list, ordered DVDs, took surveys, cancelled and then rebooked reservations, etc. Nothing yet but fingers crossed.

You can join us in the no pin club.

We have gone the last two weeks of October for the past 3 years and have noticed the same. The crowds just keep growing and growing. In much of England they are on Holiday I believe between the 23rd of October and the 2nd of November. I mention this because almost everyone we talk to on the buses, in lines, and in the pools are from England. Our schools here in Colorado have always had fall break the last week of October (well, for at least the last 12 years) but many other schools in the region now have the same. We've never done MNSSHP so we can't comment as to how the crowds have grown year to year there. I would agree that the weather is generally very nice but the lines for the popular attractions just plain stink  If we could go at another time during the year when the crowds are lighter, for instance January, we would. But for now, while our kids are still in school, we will continue to go at the end of October during their break and we'll just have to remember to pack our patience hat! :)
