Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

Anybody have a suggestion for a back up resort preference for POP? Surely I'll be ok since I don't need a preferred room anyway. However, I don't know if All star movies or all star music would be better. I lean toward music since we stayed at all star movies last time. It was great, but seeing another resort would be preferred (I think!!)

I think both are great resort's. Just be prepared it may be a little crowded in the food court due to the remodelling at all star sports.

I read something about that, is it all star music that is doing remodel? We go 10/2-10/7. I think I read they are bussing to another food court. Eek!!

Sports is being redone and their guests will be bussed to the other All Stars. You will have no trouble getting POP.

I know this may sound weird but if I was not staying at a mod this time I would probably stay at all star sports even with the remodelling. Since so many people have switched to other values it's probably going to be very quiet there. You may even have the pools all to your self and probably no problems getting free dining since the availability is good. I know there using the arcade as a drink station with some qs snacks. For some people how tend to do alot of adrs elsewhere and don't make use of the food court all that much I would think this would be the ideal place.

We toyed with the idea of stay at ASSPo this year, but since we do eat at our resort sometimes, we decided to stick with POP (which we love). I agree with you, though. If you don't plan on eating there, it might be a good place to be.

I'll tell you though, I can't wait for the free dining to be over with. But watching the threads on those days seems like a day at the Olympics

I broke down and called again to see if I had a pin for Feb or whether I had to deal with calling and possibly not getting FD on Monday. Looks like I'll still be up early making the call with everyone...

So will the room only discounts be for the exact same dates as the free dining?

I think they misread your question. I don't think there has been any word on room only discounts? ... I thought it was just FD that was being released....Or it could be that I have been so concerned about FD , that I missed the RO info.

Room only discounts will run from September 29 through December 23. Thanksgiving week is the only blackout dates during that time, November 23-29. All other dates are good to go.

I am new to FD I have considered getting the DV and definitely will for free dining. Who do I call to get the visa and can I call on July 29th get the card that day and apply it to my current res at AoA Lion KIng. Any info on this will be helpful. I hope my questions aren't dumb. Not dumb at all, but I don't think you would get your card by Monday, even if they expedited it. You must have your card in hand to get the discount. Chase will not give you the card number over the phone. If you still want to get one for the other perks, you can go to www.disneyrewards.com

You should not have any trouble getting a LK suite when the offer goes public. Good luck!

Thanks so much! You folks are so helpful! I would comb the thread if it werent so long, but can I just ask one more question about the room only discount? I am staying at a moderate (POR) and was wondering if we know what the % discount will be yet for each resort. I have a complicated situation with multiple parties, rooms, and stay lengths, and I want to do all the math on a spreadsheet ahead of time. Having the discount % would help in the planning for the phone call.
I am willing to switch moderate resorts if needed.

After planning for this vacation, I need a vacation.

I keep checking the Disney Visa site to see if their limited time offers page has changed the FD offer, but hasn't. When should I expect it to change if the offer starts Monday?

Thanks for the response to my previous post. So if I wait until August 1st I should be able to call and get free dining without getting the Visa?...or is it for visa cardholders only? Thanks to all in advance for helping me figure this out.
