Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

Yes we already have the bounceback from being there last December. None of us have mobility issues but DH and I both work long hours thru out the year. Our trips are usually no more than 5 days so when we go I try to make sure it's pretty magical and for DH that means no long hikes to the room.

Sounds good to me. Who knows maybe if it goes public, you will get POFQ. We have stayed there with FD before. And even another $350 in savings is good. That is if you enjoy the dining plan. But I am sure it will be magical regardless.

Well I booked my airfare, already to go, can not wait to go. Going the first week of December, we are saving around $2400.00 with two rooms. We will need the long walk back to the room after having all of those meals.

If it was not for fd we would not be able to go, food is so expensive and with 5 kids and 3 Adults, we would have to eat really cheap. And if you stay at the suites it is really expensive, because you still need to buy food, and who wants to cook on vacation.

We are saving a lot of money even at the pirate rooms, and the grandsons are thrilled to go there, I just figured it is a long walk to get coffee in the morning. If the buses take you to each section then it will not be that bad on the way back from the park and they fall asleep and you have to carry them.

We stayed pirate rooms last year and they were wonderful. We had a great experience and I didn't think the location was too bad (we did have a car though that we drove to most parks). My daughter loved the theme and at least there was a coffee maker in the room to get me started on my day. I hope your stay there is as memorable as ours was

Yes that would be magical lol. I've stayed there in the past (2011) with free dining in a standard room. Last year my 3 sisters and I stayed at Poly on a bounceback. I felt guilty that my kids weren't getting to go. ( by my kids I mean my daughter, son-in-law and dgd). When free dining and cheap airfare came out in July I took that as a sign and bought them a package at POFQ and plane tickets and gave it to dgd for her birthday. We had a fabulous time dining at character meals with them. Wonderful memories!

Would upgrading to a Moderate save us anything? I'm only asking because it seems that the values are out for FD. Running some numbers it looks like we would be paying the same for a Mod with FD as we would for a value paying full price.

We do have the possibility of getting a discount through a CM friend. We'll see!

You need to wait and see, if they open to the general public they will open more rooms at the value resort's. The rooms that you are seeing sold out are for pin holders.

I wouldn't give up hope on the value resorts. Some are still getting FD for value, and more rooms will be available for the FD offer when it goes to DVC/GP offer. That being said, remember that the FD for value resorts is QS dining only (2 QS, 1 snack per day per person); FD for moderate (and deluxe) resorts is regular DDP (1 TS, 1 QS, 1 snack per day per person). Don't know if that makes a difference or not, but is worth considering when pricing your options.

Did this just happen today? I can't believe how crappy my luck is. Noone ever comes looking to give me free dining, and they won't give it to me when I go to them. Kind of frustrating when you hear so many positive stories.

was probably a month ago, just about the time the Free Dining Pin for December came out. Last year, we got a pin code in someone else's name (a friend whose trip I planned) for the timeframe we were going down and Guest Services let us use it. This time we didn't get the pin in either name but I was still getting e-mails with the wrong NAME on them. Reservations kept telling me I didn't have a pin but Guest Services called and offered to book the trip with Free Dining. Who was I to argue?!?!?

Wow, congrats. I cannot get them to fix mine. My account has this old address each time I call that they cannot seem to remove or fix. They see both my old years ago addy and the one we've had for about 4 years. So each time I call I have to go through this long automated menu of changes as its the wrong account.

for the Internet dept not just reservations. They can look deeper into your account and then have them transfer you to Guest Services. They have magical powers!!!

Yea I'm trying to remember how much the upcharge was the last time we went and stayed value. I think we paid around $100 extra to get the DDP.

I have checked availability for late November into early December 2013, and it seems every resorts base rooms, or even the room category above it, are all sold out. This is all from pin holders? Or why is this? Sorry if this has been explained already, I didn't see it. Anyway, I can't see how they'd bother to offer any discounts for late fall into winter (Oct-Dec) if this is the case. Any Disney gurus out there shed some (more) light on this?
