Free dining coming back!

It is so bizarre that they are offering the same deal, for the SAME DATES, that just ended on July 2! But whatever.

Good luck to anyone who can take advantage of it! It didn't work for us the first time they announced it, and it doesn't work now, either!
Those are the dates they really are aiming to get folks to visit. It's the end of hurricane season, when the resorts are typically pretty empty. I said in another thread that the fact that they're offering the promotion again is either good news or bad news -- either the promotion was very successful or not very successful, the first time.

I have my fingers crossed.
I missed the free dinning offer but we are going Sept 22-26 so this new offer
would be perfect! I booked through AAA, to get the little discount that
was offered (about $125.00) now I am waiting to see if my agent can add
the free dinning to reservation. I called first thing this morning and after
about 30 min. my agent called back and said she was on hold forever and
when she got through they told her that promotion ended July 3rd. Can you
believe it! Anyway I told her to call back and this time I looked up the code
at Mousesavers and gave it to her. Now I am waiting!!!

Update , she got it for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How lucky can you get, I booked this trip when and unbelievably low ding
fare came across and now free dinning too!!! :jumping1:

Thanks so very much for the heads up on this offer.

Ok not sure how any of this works. I'm about to book a mini vacation. Staying at a DVC resort from the nights of AUG 27, 28, 29. Can I ask for free dining when I make the reservation or is this for non-DVC only? And is it actually free...what are the restrictions and rules of "free dining"?

I was just reading about this on mousesavers. Has anyone booked htis just for 2 people, no kids? What is a rough estimate on price? Also, should I just call Disnery reservations or go through a travel agent? Thank you!

Free dining is only available with specific inventory-controlled rooms, all set at rack rates. Free dining is not available for DVC reservations.

anyone know if they are going to bring this promotion back for FL residents? The expiration for FL residents was on July 19th but so far I don't see anything that suggests that it's coming back (the price was lower for the free dining plan package for FL residents).

It is available to FL residents as far as I can tell. My parents are FL residents and I was trying to get them on it. The CM said if they stayed the 3rd night, she could do it. (but they are only staying 2 nights)

OOO BOOOO!!! That stinks! You'd think when you shell out $30,000 they'd make sure you get all the perks that they offer to all guests....o well

Call Disney, basically you will pay rack rate for the room and get at least a one day pass. Yes the dining is free. It covers 1 counter service, 1 table service and 1 snack per night of stay, so if you stay 5 nights you each will get 5 credits - 5 CS 5 - TS and 5 -snacks. It is a great deal

We can debate if it's really free, you book the room at rack rate. You may be giving up some room discounts.

It's sometimes available for DVC properties, IF YOU'RE BOOKING IT through CRO as a hotel reservation. It's not available if you're renting points or otherwise booking through member services.

Is AAA really cheaper? I'm on hold right now with Disney and the CM has no clue what I'm talking about. Says it ended on July 19...checking with someone else.....stay tuned....we are going in November, but that last weekend that includes the F&W Festival makes this tempting.....

DH and I booked for September when it came out before. We have a standard room at Pop, 5 nights, 4 day base tickets - $825. It really depends on how many nights and your tickets.

There is no AAA Discount on the rooms with the free dining offer. What Disney did is to price all the dates for this offer at the value season even though the value and moderate resorts are normally regular season until August 28

That is why some people think they got the AAA discount on the room when they really didn't

I have an annual pass, but it may be worth giving up that rate in exchange for rack rate and free dining. However, I have no use for MYW tickets.

I have read that if you buy 1 days passes for each member on your reservation it can be done. Do the numbers. It might be work out better to do the plan if your staying at PC

We have annual passes and got the dining plan.

I had originally called to book the $59 AP price for ASMo...we figured we would go back for cheap and see the parks using AP. The CM told me about the free dining plan. She said I could purchase a single day/single park ticket for each of the members of my family and get the dining plan for the entire length of my trip (7 nights).

We would have paid close to $500 for the room. Ended up paying a little over $800 but got the dining plan....and 1 day tickets that I'm not going to use......

but

We can either use them after our AP expire, or turn them in towards the price of an AP renewal. Since they are 1 day tickets, they are never activated, so they never expire. So really, I am just prepaying part of an AP renewal.

In the end, it looks like I will give the 2 adult passes to my parents since they decided to come out for 2 days and spend a day in Epcot and eat dinner with us. I will use the 2 kids tickets towards the price of an AP renewal next May when ours expire.

Yes, but it was significantly lower. For two people it is almost $200 less! I'm hoping that this was just an oversight and they'll bring it back!

I don't know if this helps anyone but I am considering booking the Wilderness Lodge (woods view) for 5 days/4 nites with MYW park hoppers and the free dining and the pricing was around $1490 for 2 adults. My other options were Animal Kingdom for $1360, Pop for $875, Boardwalk for $1785. Right now, I'm booked at the Dolphin for $99 a nite for 4 nites (approx. $500 after taxes & fees) and 5 day park happers are around $230 (total of $460 for 2 adults) each plus airport transportation (around $60, i think). It's a total of $1020.....I'm debating if the free dining is worth it or we should just keep what we have & wing it on the food. Any opinions?

Can I get the free dining if I already booked my vacation with my AAA Discount?

You can't have both the free dining and the AAA discount...you have to pay rack rates.

I had the AAA discount and during the first round of the free dining offer, changed my ressie to get the free dining. I paid $240 more for the room, but got $1300 in dining free.

The key is whether or not the resort you have booked still has free dining packages available. If the allotted packages are already gone, you may have to switch resorts in order to get the free meals. If you're already within your 45 day window, there may be an additional charge to change at this later date.
