Free Dining Check in at Resort question...

I posted earlier in this thread. We were at BC for room only res to enjoy sab. We switched to POR for 10 days of dining plan. On the morning of our switch, I woke early and checked all of us into POR. Everyone else remained asleep. No problem with check in. I was not even asked. I have 2 childern under 9. I checked us in, rec'd the dining cards and we all hung out at sab and epcot. We did not return until that night after dinner.

This is good to know! We have a large family, and I thought I would just check us all in while dh takes the kids to walk around the resort, see the pool, etc. Sure, if they want all of us to stand in line (and my kids will probably be antsy from the long plane ride) we could do it, but I think for the enjoyment of others, my kids shouldn't be there. LOL.

As long as they're nearby and you can point them out if you're randomly selected, you should be fine.

just bumping this up for the newest returnees...

thanks in advance for sharing your experienced :)

They didn't ask to see everyone one in our group, DS10 sat in the lobby.

So 3 of the 4 of us stood at check in. They asked for my ID and oldest son's ID (him and his friend had the 2nd room and he was listed 1st on his room-but was reserved under my name).

We just got back. :)

We stayed at CR and only I went up there to check in. They never asked to see the rest of the family.

The bottom line is is that Disney reserves the right to ask all dining plan members of your party to appear at the desk at check-in. While anectodal evidence shows that they will not require this(in most cases), they CAN and they MAY require this of your party.

Yes, it appears that enforcement is strictly random; they're principally trusting guests to voluntarily comply.
