Free dining available dates changed

Anyone know when or why the Free Dining dates were changed? I was checking on rooms today and the Disney website now says Free Dining from 9/2 to 9/22. I put in my own dates 8/26 - 9/1 and got an error message that said the promotion wasn't available on those dates. Hope that means sold out and not just changed.

I also noticed this when I went on the Disney site today. As long as you are already booked with FDP you should be fine

It could be that the resort your searching for is booked with that promo, because I just tried it right now and got the dates I wanted at All Star Sports, but All Star Movies was booked. Play around with the dates if you really want a specific resort.

It doesn't matter if you play around with your dates the info on the booking page has changed to the following-
This vacation package includes:
Disney Value Resort Stay – Standard room at a select Disney Value Resort most nights Sept 2 – Sept 22, 2007.
Theme Park Tickets – Visit one of four Theme Parks each day of your ticket.

Hello just thought I'd share some info, I too saw the changed dates and my stomach dropped because I hadn't made my reservation as of yet so I called Disney reservations and asked, I was told the availability was very limited from 8/26 until the 2nd of Sept so they changed the web site but you can still call them and check to see if they still have any openings for those first few days and book thats what I did just that a couple of hours ago.

That's odd. Makes sense that they were near capacity for August, but still - change the promo? The previous promo end date was June 24th. Does the current promo have the same end date or was the date extended?

Website still says book by June 24th. I would assume the late august is booked because many schools around the country do not start until early sept.

I saw the same thing too but I was able to book my dates last night online no problem, they were 26th Aug to 2nd Sept at BC with free dining. The dates changed on the website a little while ago but you could still enter in the dates from 26th Aug. Definitely give them a call if you can't do it on the website.

This change of dates on the Disney site sounds like what I remember from last year's free dining deal. I may be wrong, but I thought last year's free dining started on August 13, not August 26, as it was this year. When the bookings for August 13 quickly filled up last year, Disney was no longer taking NEW ressies for free dining for August 13, but changed the website to show free dining starting August 26. Maybe someone else would know the exact dates.

When I checked online yesterday, I was able to find very limited availability for free dining starting Aug 26, the expensive rooms were available or SSPrings. So while I think you can still find availability for free dining for Aug 26, you may pay through the nose for it.

However, I think there is still hope. Wouldn't you think some availability would open up around the 45 day mark when the balance is due and some cancel instead of paying?

Also, didn't Disney extend the free dining last year into October? I thought I remember that event creating a wild time on the DIS boards, lol.

I have just had a play, if you go to the main Disneyworld Vacations page and then click the free dining offer box in the bottom right hand corner it takes you to a booking engine in which the start date is automatically 26th Aug. Looks like very limited or no availability left for the end of Aug for mods and values but several Deluxe resorts were available and also more resorts are available for longer stays

I also just checked for the dates of 8/26-9/02 (and 9/03) and could only get Deluxes to come up...so for anyone still looking for that dream vacation -- get crackin' before they're gone!

How do I check if there are any rooms left for Free Dining in September? My family and I want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside but only if we can get free dining. Where can I check if rooms are available?

They have shortened the dates even more on the website.
stays at value sept 2-10and 16-22

I asked for dates 8/26 - 8/30 for POFQ with Free Dining, but was told there were no rooms available. I asked for 10 nights 8/26 - 9/5 and I was able to book the room. I modified it a day later back down to the dates I originally wanted. So it seems it looks like most of the hotels are open if you put in for 10 nights, then you can modify it to the dates you want.

Yes, you would have to call to modify, but it was no problem.

People(espically those booking over LDW) I want to give you heads up...there are not many places that have ADR's left(Dinners are very scarse at Epcot)...remember this freedining/bouncebach program has been out for a while...at this point before making reservations I would heck where you could possibly eat for the days you want...I am sure there will be availbility for rooms as we get close to the 45 day mark. But remember there are many people that eat at WDW that are not staying on site and have made their ressies far in advance. Last few years they have brought out alternative sites to get TS...but you will not be getting at LC or MM now. Good Luck in your planning. I would stick to the after 9/2 just because you have a chance at getting something.

It's weird they changed the dates on the promo...espically since they just offered free upgrades for people that have reservations 8/26-9/1 at POP or ASM. We got free upgrades to OKW or SSR! There should be availability at Value resorts now for the beginning dates of free dining.

I suspect that they have relatively strong demand at POP and ASM for those dates regardless of FD, and they are looking at underoccupancy at OKW and SSR, so what they are doing is moving your ressies to an underutilized asset. They won't offer FD for your "released" POP/ASM rooms; they'll rent them out at full price, thereby maximizing revenue. Or so my MBA training tells me...
