Free Dining August 2012??

So we were planning a trip to Disney for august 2013. I have finally worn my husband down!! There is a chance we might go THIS August!!! Just did the math and there is NO way we can afford to go unless there is free dining. It was my understanding that no free dining has been offered yet for August. Then I was just reading a new thread where it sounded like perhaps it has been announced? I don't see anything on the official Disney website. Anyone know?

The free dining offer out now is for 8/25/12 – 9/29/12.

Free dining was offered two weeks ago and they were flooded with calls. Only some resorts and some rooms are up for promos; you cannot just pick and choose where you want to stay. Promos are done to fill rooms.

Some people reported waiting up to 45 minutes to finally get through.

It looks like some categories are completely booked. So you will have to go onto the Disney website and see what is available and then call to see if there are cancellations.

Values will go quickest because people who are staying off-site will opt to go with the QSDP. People in values move up to the moderates to get the DDP. At times after free dining is offered, you often only see suites in the values and the mods, and many levels of Deluxe. It doesn't take long to fill up.

They make ADR's at 180 days plus 10, so one has to make ADR's if you have the DDP in order to get your choices. ADR's book up fast during FD, because people who don't normally purchase the Dining plan and opt for all Counter service will book the most expensive places they can get into to make it pay for itself.
