How many people have booked already?? Do you think anything better will come along??

I'm booked already. I really have no idea if anything better will come along. This is the first time we are going in August. If the dining plan wasn't free, it would cost us about $1400.00, we are a family of 5, with 2 of the 3 kids counting as adults. I really don't think anything would be better than this for us, but ya never know.

We have been a free dining family for the past 3 years, always staying at a value. This year (2011) I am not booking the free dining with the hopes that a room only discount comes out. I really want to stay at a monorail resort :lovestruc.

Maybe a silly question - we just got back from the World this morning (3am) so I'm probably missing it but....before we left I remember seeing stickies or big topics about the 2011 free dining dates (scattered thru the year) but I can't find them now. Can someone post a link? I thought there'd be a BB when we were down there but there wasn't.

Thanks!

We booked Polynesian for 10 days for August with free dining. I really hope the 40% discount is released b/c I would very much prefer that to the free dining promo.

We are booked at Music with my DH family there will be 9 of us on the free dining plan. We upgraded from quick service to regular. August 26 - Sept 5th
11 whole days of DISNEY!!!

just copied this from WDW site - free dining dates

2011: 1/1-1/5, 1/9-1/13, 1/21-2/3, 2/11-2/17, 2/25-3/3, 5/27-6/2 and 8/19-9/29.

Booked too...Beach Club from 8/26 to 9/4...upgraded to deluxe dining!!! Hoping something better is released too as this is our 4th August stay during free dining and honestly our last 2 bounceback offers were much much better then this one.:confused3

I'm thinking of booking POR for Aug with free dining. I want to do a split with BC, and have AP so?
May just book the POR free DDP, and BC basic pkg, Am going in Jan so hope to get a BB offer to apply for Aug, then wait for AP discounts.

Can I book now, then when I get a BB, switch my res to the BB if it's better? Or is BB just for new booking only?

We booked Aug 22-28th with free dining. This will be our first stay at the Polynesian, I can't wait. Fingers crossed for 40% off, that would be awesome!!!:cool1:

Due to DH job we have to reschedule our 7day Feb trip.:headache: We are considering a 10 day trip end of Aug.:woohoo: What do you all think of the idea that since FD is being offered at other times of the year, there will be less demand for Aug? I am thinking people who would go just for FD would go other (more desirable) times of the year?

Or is this just my wishful thinking :rotfl:

We've been doing the FD for end Aug - early Sept. for about 5 years now. Already booked for 2011, had booked BB in previous years, figured why wait since my dates were included for the FD promo.

I would definitely think it's about the lowest crowd time for Disney...we're only one week into school at the end of August. I'd be afraid I'd have a not-too-happy teacher on my hands that my kids would have to deal with the rest of the year. And it's so hot then...I'd say your crowds will be low.

We love going that time of year. The crowds have been super low. Yes, it is hot but the air conditioning down there is made for the extreme temperatures. You just have to pace yourself and make sure you take the necessary a/c breaks, they are just as important as water. Plus it kind of forces you to stop and smell the roses. We always love going that time of year, but everyone is different.

Now what I want is for them to open it up a couple of days earlier. Usually it starts on a Sunday and this year it is starting on Friday. I was hoping it would start on the 15th instead of the 19th.

We are planning to go for the last 2 weeks of August. I was going to book about a month ago but we can't decide on a resort. Our initial plan was ASMu, which we really love, but we are also thinking about POFQ. Just yesterday we had yet another long talk about it. Something will be book for sure within the next week.
