Hi all,
saw this on the uk forum and figured us cb folks might want to see it too.
BTW you only need the visa card to book before april 4

Disney Rewards Visa Stay, Play and Dine Promotion
Advance purchase opportunity for Disney Rewards Visa cardmembers ONLY! Take advantage of this limited-time vacation package offer before it's released to everyone else on April 4!

Get FREE dining when you book this specially-priced Walt Disney World vacation package for travel most nights 8/13/06-9/30/06. Essentially you get the Magic Your Way Plus Dining package for the price of the Magic Your Way vacation package!

This deal saves a family of four (2 adults, two kids ages 3-9) $97.96 per day -- the cost of adding dining to a vacation package.

Sample pricing:

5 nights / 6 days at a select Disney Value Resort for only $435 per adult. Add up to two children in the same room for only $176 per child ages 3-9. (Based on adult double occupancy in a standard room.)

This deal is available for other lengths of stay and other resorts (subject to availability), at varying prices. You must purchase at least a 1-Day Base Ticket with this package.

You must book this offer by 6/4/06. The number of packages available at this rate is limited. No group rates or other discounts apply.

I cannot tell if this is an April 1 joke or not. Would Mousesavers do that to us?

It's true bicker, I received an e-mail from Disney VISA, I have 4 days, starting today, to book before the general public will receive this.

No April Fool's-wierd right?

Still, Mary COULD have that large of a sense of humor, no? :rotfl:

OK, here's a question ...

I don't have the Disney Visa, so will have to wait until it's available to the rest of the world. Now, I've already booked our resort (ASMo) for 8/13 for a 9 day length of stay. Will I be able to add this to my existing ressies? Or, do I have to rebook and hope I get into the resort I want!?

Also -- we're a family of 3 and do not have a 4th coming ... what does that mean for us!?!? I have a strange feeling that we'd end up getting the shaft on that deal b/c we're not a foursome.

Please advise! Thanks!

Clearly, families of four will get more benefit: If you get four things for free instead of three, that's got to be better. And four adults in a room will get a bigger benefit than two adults and two children.

FWIR, whether you have to rebook or not isn't the issue so much as the rate you're paying. The free dining comes with packages booked at rack rate. If you already have a discount, then you'll lose that discount in gaining free dining. Still, for even just the three of you, that still $90 off each night. How much are you paying for your room each night now?

Great deal. Too bad we're going in November and won't be able to take advantage. I hope they come up with something like this when we go :)

The free dining was only offered during the heart of hurricane season last year. While there may be discounts in November, I wouldn't count on them being as generous as the discounts available in September.

I just called DH (CPA so he's already at work!) but he doesn't want to change our dates from mid-July to mid-August. Hurricane season scared him too much. Too bad because it would have saved us about $1000.

Congrats to all who are getting the free dining- what a bargain!

Hurricane season is June through November, isn't it? Plus July is gonna be hot and August is gonna be hot. :sunny:

While hurricane season does last almost six months, over the past hundred years, the worst of has typically just been during two months: August and September.

True. I just booked a trip for four of us going in late August (3 adults/one child) and I saved over $1000!!! :sunny:

How do you book this? Through Disney Visa or call Disney Reservations directly? I don't see where it says who to call? :confused3

I called 407WDISNEY and used code YWL (YMS and YWM work too) and told them I wanted the Disney Visa deal with free dining. If you don't have the card, the free dining will be open to the general public starting Tuesday, April 4th. Good Luck! :)

Yes, technically it is June through November. Its just been our experiences (we've gone once in August, once in September, and three times in July) that August and September were much more likely to be affected by hurricanes. Yes July is hot as anything, and you usually do get the daily heavy shower for a short time, but we love July and have had really good luck with the weather. DH just doesn't want to chance it, but for $1000 I would have taken the chance.

Well, crap! This just means people are going to go back to thinking we are nuts!! We were just there in Feb and are supposed to go to Yellowstone in Sept.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Can I avoid the pull of free dining????? OH dear. What to do? :confused3 :rotfl2:

disneymom3,
I could not avoid the pull of the free dining. We're already scheduled to be in Orlando in October for an auction we won on Skyauction, but just planned an August trip. It was too good a deal to pass up and I don't have to worry about pulling the girls out of school for a longer trip in October.
