Can someone point me in the direction of how to set up the vacation count down? I'm pretty savvy when it comes to computers in general, I just do not have a lot of experience with "forums." I have found the site, and created the code. When i move it over it says a word is being used that is is not allowed, or something? Just having issues applying the code!

All this talk of tickers made me want to add one to mine again. SO, I just made one with our worse case scenario date. I figure I will only feel better when I get to change it to something sooner.

I did the same thing for last years trip. We went in 2009 and were planning for 2013, so in 2011 I picked an estimated date and made a ticker. at least you feel better that a trip will be coming someday

good news is I had intially thought it would be 2017 before we could do again but I am pretty sure I can save the money by the Fall of 2016. Would love to see the Xmas decorations so mid November probably and the kids have already chosen POP as the resort they want to stay at.

Oh come on, just join in my madness and make one! We are pretty good savers, so we are hoping for earlier too.

It sounded like most of the crowds are leaving tomorrow as most schools had Easter break last week. Here's hoping! Of course my kids had only Friday and Monday off, so I wouldn't know. I have to pick low crowd times for my ASD boy, so I never would have attempted this week.

November 15-24 was an AWESOME time to go...no crowds til that last day. All the decorations were up, even at the resorts, by the time we left. And, of course, at least there is a chance of free dining in the fall. I doubt that it will ever happen again in the spring. But if a good enough discount comes out for us, I'd take that too.

I went a few times in May growing up, loved it but as you said not much in the way of discounts. My cousins family went last year Mid May and got SPD.

So, I was thinking spring break. Our dates next year are March 9-13. How crowded do you think it will be? That is the week before Canada's break and I assume pretty early compared to the rest of the country.

We went 3/17-3/25 2012 and the parks were crazy busy because it was spring break for a lot of schools and colleges. I'd rather go to the F&W, but I get going without the kids. I couldn't do that either....yet lol

I've been considering spring dates as well, but I'm having trouble narrowing down the dates that would be crowded since it seems to vary so much each year. I definitely can't go during crowded times though so I'd probably end up waiting until fall myself if it didn't work out. : (

Can you wrap a trip around the time of Veteran's day? That way the kids could miss a minimum of school.

I don't think you'll be able to get free dining but you might be able to get some room discounts but could still do a day or two of F&W.

Going on the Disney website and pricing a vacation for my dates doesn't reflect a discount either, nor does the special offers. I wonder if I had something in the system that enabled me to get the 25% off room? Hopefully someone (smitch?) can jump in and offer input...
