For anyone in the know - I was wondering if the free dining offer for this fall allows only the QS plan for those staying in family suites at AoA? It rididculous that a $300 per night room would be lumped in with a room at Pop for this offer? :confused3
AoA suites are more $ than mods who get the 1 TS dining plan during FD.

It is only QSDP with the option to upgrade. It is not "ridiculous" because you are paying for a room nowhere near the same size as a room at POP. The suites at AoA sleep more than the mods, as well.:thumbsup2

It is not ridiculous to pay $100 more per night than at a moderate resort and not be offered a free TS plan like they are? Yes, this is quite a step up from Pop - that's my point!

Then just book a room at a moderate resort or upgrade to the regular DDP at AoA. People are free to choose the resort that works best for them, no one is forced to stay anywhere. That's the great thing about Disney. Lots to choose from. :goodvibes

AoA is a value resort and follows the same free dining procedure as all of the other value resorts.

1) Simple.
2) More people can stay in a family suite than a normal room.
3) It would be giving too much money away.
4) At Disney, money talks.

I agree with you i think its insane that it costs more then a Mod and they dont give the DDP Infact i wanted to downgrade from SSR to AOA and it was going to cost me £2000 more then SSR because i would have to pay for the DDP! Gutted.

I agree too, though I don't want to stay there. We stay mod - no dp at our time either. (sigh, oh well).

So what if you're buying a larger room. That is how you are choosing to spend your extra money for your (let's call it) "perk", where others are choosing to spend their perk money on luxury, theming, or whatever at a mod or deluxe. Point is your spending the money, not just totally valueing our on it, no matter what you want to classify this resort.

This sums it up perfectly.

You are paying money to fill a room. They give you free food for filling that room. It does not matter what the room costs you. It is based on the type of resort you stay in and AoA is a value resort. There is no incentive for them to give 6 people in an AoA suite the regular DDP. There is a large price difference between 6 people on the QSDP and 6 people on the regular DDP. Not everyone staying in the suites even wants to have the regular DDP. It makes more sense economically for Disney to offer all value guests the QSDP and then allow those who wish to upgrade to do so.

Yes, yes. I momentarily lost sight of that.
As Pete says, don't complain until you are ready to take your money elsewhere. Sadly, for me, I am just about at that point. Less and less return for the dollar.

It's true that there is plenty in the area to do, what with SeaWorld, Universal etc., could definetly fill a vacation.

AoA is a value resort. You really can't compare the cost of a suite at AoA to a room at Pop, since there's much more space. And AoA does have regular rooms that are about the same per night at Pop. I totally get why guests staying there have the QSDP, and if the regular plan is important you can upgrade.

AOA is a value resort, so it gets the QS plan free. There is no cosideration as to how much the guest is paying for the room. Guests in family suites at All Star Music would also get quick service free, as would guests who book two rooms at a value resort to accommodate a larger party. A value resort is a value resort; has nothing to do with the size of the rooms.

I know there are some parties of less than five or six who just want to stay at AOA because they like it and want to stay there in a suite. The suites were designed to accommodate parties of more than four, to offer an alternative to that size party being required to book two rooms at the moderate or value level. A party of five or six is still paying less for a family suite than they would for two rooms at a moderate. (Yes I know you can get five in a room in some areas of POR, but the guests still have the choice of paying more for a family suite than they would for one moderate room to get more space.)

I think a lot of people forget that free dining isn't free because Disney wants to be nice and give away free food. It's a glorified room discount. People don't complain when there are percentage discounts on room only reservations, and the values save less percentage-wise then the moderates and deluxe resorts. This is the same thing.
