Bummer, booked to arrive 10/25 @ POR - now no free dining

Still on hold 62 minutes and waiting to see if they can get me better deal. Been doing this same week for years...any one got another suggestion for family of 5?

Value with QS and then pay to upgrade to regular dining an option?

For us (5 persons but youngest is 14- so 5 "disney adults" when it comes to dining and tix) 2 rooms at POP with the dining plan upgrade ended up being $800 less than 1 room at BC but POP has double beds and we have 2 DS's age 17 and 22 sharing a bed. AoA suites was the cheapest next to POR, but our kids being older, there was not much desire to stay in such a heavily themed "animated" room. The cabins in FW is also an option, but no food court or other resort amenities. Also up for consideration was Wilderness Lodge Deluxe Studio (sleeps 5 but again, dbl bed for DS's) and the Dolphin (but no magical express). So we ended up going with BC. Came out the same as if we'd stayed at POR and paid for our meals (~$2500 for 10 days) out of pocket!

******Thanks! My kids are little 10/7/4 so we don't mind sharing beds, in fact they usually all sleep together in one anyway on vacation****

Once it goes live to the GP, you can book on the Disneyworld website at midnight May 7th! No need to call and wait

We arrive in Disney on 08/26/14. I know in order to get free dining it has to be in your check in date. Anyone know of a secret to getting it added on or getting a pin to go for our check in date?

On the off chance that I would get a pin, would the dates and restrictions of certain resorts be the same? I'm looking for check-in on November 22 at POR...we are a family of 5 and I really don't want to book 2 rooms or pay a lot more for a suite...thanks

Hang in there everyone, it's bound to be better than last years nightmare when they released all dates through end of the year for disney visa and general public on same day. Think it was august 1. All phones were overloaded. Web site crashed / stalled. Hold times reported in the 4 to 5 hour range.
It might help when you call in to choose the option for a new reservation even if you're modifying an existing one.

Hang in there everyone. the first 4-5 times i dialed the # it told me all circuits were busy-call back later. once i got through i was on hold for maybe 7 minutes before a CM picked up. very smooth process- total maybe 20-25 minutes.

Question about split trips, our dates fall halfway through the free dining offer in November (6-12).

If we made two separate reservations, do we need to add on park tickets to the second reservation to be able to get the free dining offer?

Got it. Free dining. On the phone almost two hours. November 1 to 8 th. Had to upgrade dining to plus dining because we are staying in value, preferred room all stars music, but saving of 500 dollars. Love you, Disney. And thanks to Dis for wonderful and accurate information.
