Dying for the FD to be released. ... aaaaarrrgh. Passing the time reading trip reports and pricing different WDW resorts !!

we got your back bro!! Keep doing what ya doing. We are all on this ride together .

Been on here since 2006 and one thing I have learned is that those that find the DIS and stay are the best out there. Hang in there Black, we trust you, appreciate you, and believe in what you and those that help are doing:)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

One of the things I love about this board is the general sense of fun and anticipation - and the fact that people aren't posting nasty and/or snide remarks. Disney is a happy place - and any website or board about Disney should be too.

Appreciate all the advice and speculation! Just part of the fun and excitement!

Oh - and thank you black and all!!

I wanted to share some thoughts on a few things. I saw a post in a facebook group this morning that dug up some unpleasant thoughts that happened about a year ago. Most of you know what happened, so I won't get into that. However, I think something needs pointed out about this whole process. In my time here in the Dis, I have seen rumors and leaks for every promo, by so many different people, myself included. Some have come, some have gone, but all of them had one thing in common. No rumor...no leak has ever been 100%....not me, not anyone before me. Even those who have had actual leaked info from inside Disney....things always change at the last minute, and we all know this, and we've all seen this. But here's the shocker. It isn't about who nails a date first, or who puts out the information before someone else. This is about getting some information in front of people, so they can then ask questions and become prepared for when that day arrives. This is about everyone having their resorts, and backups, and everything planned out and ready to go. As you all know, knowing early gets you nothing on release day. Someone could see it online that morning and end up calling in ahead of you. The only thing this information does is allow you time to ask questions, get some answers and be prepared. Everyone in here have been so helpful in answering questions and getting correct information to the right people. I've always welcomed that (even putting a few folks on the spot a time or two). I don't do any of this for praise or worship, but rather because Disney World holds a deep personal connection for me, and I want others to have a chance for a similar experience. So whether the date is April 21, or May 1.....the important thing is that we are all ready for it. You've asked your questions, you've all been given answers, made your plans, ready to go. This post wasn't directed at anyone in particular, but there always seems to be someone out there who wishes failure upon others. We saw that last August unfortunately, but everyone here was so quick to let them know they weren't welcome around here. While I'm not here for praise, I think we all deserve respect. I just wanted to thank you all for one heck of a year.....and what's sure to be a wild ride to come. Now....where are those tights? :confused3

Keep up the excellent work! There are naysayers everywhere! I'm new to the Dis but love all you guys already! ☺️

Like others I know, my "join date" should really read "rejoin date." I left for a couple of years because some folks were not making my Happy Place fun to talk about anymore. If you have been around long enough, (or not even that long), and you have adventured outside this thread, I am sure you all have experienced this.

I came back, and stayed, only because of Joe. He is the one responsible for creating this wonderful, drama-free thread where we can all peacefully share our love of Disney and learn a few things along the way.

He underplays his skills for what he does to bring us news on free dining. Others have simply relied on spoon-fed information from an inside Disney source, that they then copy and paste on here. Disney has severely cracked down on these sources by firing them, taking away earmarked status from travel agencies, etc. Joe uses his knowledge of business, marketing, research, tourism, economics and of course, Disney World, to painstakingly analyze this data to bring us his most educated guess on what/when the next promotion will be. This takes hours! Now, consider this and how accurate he has been. This is remarkable and that is why I refer to him as the Disney Whisperer!

Now let's see those tights and blonde wig! We have a free dining party going on!party:party:party:party:party:party:

So true. So true. I am reluctant to join in any other threads on DIS because a lot of them tend NOT to be at ALL like these free dining threads!
I was seriously shocked at some of the reactions on here last year though!
You'll have plenty of us to defend you this year again if things get ugly Joe. And i think your fan club is growing! Thanks for everything you do Joe, and hopefully we'll be doing this again next year when perhaps I have a chance of taking advantage of the FD offer!
Until then, I can't wait to hear everyone else's exciting stories!

We have been away from Disney for a few years. I have enjoyed reading all the different threads on DIS while not going there.

I am hoping for FD for you that are going before us. Saving money with FD, might have people spending more at Disney with all the money they are saving with FD.

I hope Joe will continue to post for us that are going in Dec.

I notice most people on this thread are mentioning moderate resorts with their possible free dining packages. What about the deluxe resorts? Do you usually not get free dining at the deluxe resorts because they have no trouble filling up without any promo deals?

If I made Wilderness Lodge my backup resort, would I necessarily get free dining there or not?

Deluxe resorts get the regular DDP for free, too. Depending on your party size, a room discount may be better than free dining. Always best to do the math if more than one discount is available to pick from. :goodvibes

I'm grateful for all the info about FD, and just glad to have a window of time to be on the watch for it. Thanks for keeping us posted and informed, Joe!

I haven't read through posts, so I am not sure what all the discussion about moderates is, but I believe moderate resorts use to only get quick service during free dining. Lately it has been regular dining plan for moderates. I guess the idea of saving on cost of moderate over deluxe PLUS free regular dining is a great option for people.
As far as Wilderness Lodge, if you check first page of this thread it lists WL under deluxe offer....Hope that helps :confused3

Wow, I guess I'm glad that I wasn't on the boards last year at FD time. I was, but we didn't decide to go until after it was already out for a few weeks, so I wasn't following the FD thread. I am grateful for any info Joe digs up, and he makes it clear that it is his best estimate based on info he has, and that it is not in stone. Either way it is better than any guess I could come up with. I have fun just hanging out with everyone here laughing at how crazy we all are, as we wait not so patiently. Joe don't let the haters get you down.....from the last time I looked almost 2000 people "like" you ;) Keep up what your doing, we appreciate you:cheer2:
