Free Dining 2014 Discussion

Finally crunched all my numbers for all three check in dates we can do, ranked all four resorts and room types we want (secretly hoping it ends on the 24th so I can justify pulling the kids out of school one extra day, get cheaper flights and add on an extra day so we can do a pool, not a park, day on MNSSHP night but don't tell DH that!). Dining options are planned for all scenarios and spreadsheets are updated. :woohoo:

I HAVE TURNED INTO A SELF-ADMITTED FREE DINING DISNEY FANATIC!:wave2:

Now it's just the waiting game until Monday or more news comes out.....will check every night at midnight, just in case and will anxiously check my email and boards for a Disney Visa early release. :surfweb:

Mr. Black (and others), thanks for all your digging, reporting and scouting!!!:worship:

Keep in mind that for visa offers, you must have the card in hand. No card info will be given over the phone by Chase.

I understand this. Thank you. I am looking for the future.

I already have a res for Sept. 23-27 at BC resort. Booked with the MM package but still curious to see if FD will be worth the change. I've been praying for FD to come out. Is it easy to make a change to a current reservation or better to re-book w/ FD and cancel the other reservation? EXCITED! :goodvibes

Our dear friend Dave just reminded me of something I had forgotten.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train press event is May 2. Add on top of that the Halloween Party tickets, and their Earnings Call is the 6th. There's a lot of stuff going on at the beginning of May. He pointed out that throwing a promo into all that mix would get everything lost in the shuffle. So move the promo out of the way....

Kinda makes the 21st look a bit more obvious.

Oh, by the way, I checked on the summer offer and it was released about 16 days earlier than last year. If you count back that far this year, it comes a couple days before the 21st. Don't read too much into that, but I have noticed deals coming along sooner this year.

Anything else pointing to different dates in September that FD will be offered (still praying my beloved date of the 24th is included:cloud9:)

jusdt so people know. the bounceback offers are not as flexible with dates. the dates written on the offer are IT. none other. even if the excluded dates overlap your trip.

and no changes. I suppose (as stated above) you can always cancel with a penalty.. but we booked X amount fo days to be safe. not sure when we could take the trip, and figured we could always drop a day later. nope. they said if we dropped a day we would lose the entire offer. not just a $50 charge for a change. andyes, we called back and spoke with a few CMs to be sure.

I forget what we did then, since I could not miss that one day of work. I guess we took some other offer.:confused3 (I'm sure we still went!!!)

I'm hoping for a November offer but is it still the same with FD that your arrival date is what matters? Last year FD was still available on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which would be our arrival date this year if we can go, but would enable us to have FD the whole week if that policy is still in place.

Well we always book BB for FD and always have to switch the dates once air comes It has never been a issue ever. Of course it does have to be the dates that are listed on the BB Boucher. If someone tells you other than that you need to ask for someone in guest services. I have had to do that before since the cm's can't switch it themselves. In fact I called to change something today.

Yeah, I've changed dates on bounceback-booked rooms (room only and FD package) many (probably more than a dozen) times. I've never had any problems. (Of course I was only changing to dates included within the original bounceback offer. I've changed by shortening the trip, lengthening, and moving the entire trip to a different month. All without any problem at all.)

Someone must have had an uniformed CM, or asked in a way that the CM misunderstood.

As mentioned, bouncebacks can be changed, but it requires being transferred to guest services with CMs who have access to the bounceback offers. You can change dates, resorts, etc. as long as there is availability.

Hi all ! :)

I'm new to the board, but have been following this intently for a while. I'm from Canada and have been to Disney World once before (January 2012). The boyfriend and I are planning to go in September (1st - 9th) and would love to get FD. It will be his first time in Disney World, but he is a huge Disney fan (has been to Disneyland Paris 10+ times).

We are looking to stay in a Value resort, and really aren't picky which one, so I hope this will help us score the free dining !

Thanks for all the hard work you guys do ! You are all amazing ! :)
