Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I'd like an answer to that question as well. Booked BWI CL with the MM special and I think if I figured it right we received 25% off the room as well. So I'm trying to figure out if the FD will help or hurt me. In a perfect world I'd rather have a 35% RO discount because we have no real interest in the memory maker.

So, if we get FD in September and we choose a moderate resort, what we are this getting a Free Dining Plan. What is the cost, per person, to upgrade that to a Deluxe Dining Plan? Where else can I find this information, or is this a DIS secret? Thanks in advance!

Nope, not a secret. I was considering the same thing actually. DP is $60.64 a night and DXDP is $109.53. To upgrade it would be $48.89 per person per night. Not doing it as we are going during Food & Wine.

That seems to be the million dollar question. Lol

And if FD is released tomorrow (or any other day for that matter), how early in the day will we know about it? 7am? 6am?

Ok, I knew I shouldn't have ignored all those should I upgrade? threads on the DDP board.

I need someone to confirm/clarify upgrading!

***We go to a buffet - it doesn't matter whether we're 5A or 4A1C

***We go to a regular TS meal as 5A, and dd8 likes the adult selections, we are good to go

***We go to a regular TS meal as 5A, and dd8 wants to order kid meal. What happens then?

***We go to a quick serve as 5A and dd8 likes the adult choices, we are good to go.

***We go to a QS as 5A and dd8 wants a kids meal. What happens then?

I'm glad the snacks and mugs don't differentiate between child and adult!!! :rotfl2:

people will start posting here as soon as they have a CM on the phone that says FD is a go; before they have even completed their booking. If it goes live earlier than 7 on line (GP offer), the posts will start as soon as the offer is up.

If you hang out here, there is no way you can miss it when it happens!

Adults can order off the kids menu no problem. so if dd8, or you, or anyone wants to order a kid meal, there should not be an issue. The other way around is where you will run in to problems. Kids cannot order off the adult menu at a QS or TS location (unless a nice CM lets them).

And at a buffet, age doesn't matter,

Mid-April is a very vague term and sadly that's what I got in terms of dates.

I do put more stock in the other part which said "free dining is definite". It was much more pointed and firm than the other one.

It wouldn't surprise me if visa was offered Thursday and public Monday for the simple fact that the memory maker promo expires Sunday. I think they want to let that one run it's course first.

So could the info be released tomorrow, stating that Disney Visa holders can call on Thurs and GP on Monday? Is that usually how it works, meaning that there would be some notice before the Visa offer goes into effect?

No. The day it's announced is the day it's released. It could be tomorrow for visa yea, I was just making a point about the existing promo that's getting ready to expire.

OK, gotcha. Looks like I'm getting up with the birds tomorrow morning:thumbsup2

If FD is announced in April, do you think it would just be for September/October time frame?

Knowing that POR seems to be where alot of folks are trying for, would you say getting one of the King bed rooms would be slightly easier to get? We are hoping for FD and will just be me and the hubs. Planning for 11/1 - 11/7.

The phone lines open at 7. These boards will move faster than you can keep up. So check here first before you wait on the phone.

I wish I could take advantage of FD this year but it's not in the budget. But next year I'll be anticipating a FD offer for November. So I'm just hanging on and living through everyone else's trips this year.

So it's only for sept if it's released this week? Any chance they will release the fall discounts as well?

If I were to book a vacation this week before the discounted rooms and free memory maker expires and then find out that free dining is offered, do you think I would be able to add the free dining option to my existing vacation? Our dates are flexible in sep/oct, but the offer of the mm is enticing! I just wasn't sure if one deal trumps the other...or if they would honor both. I do have a disney visa card...and let's be honest, we're going to go at that time regardless of the deals! It would just be awesome of we could get the mm and fd all in one! I just wasn't sure if I should wait for the fd offer to come out (hopefully that's soon) or just go ahead and book this week. :wave2:

Can only take advantage of one deal.
