Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 2

Several people have SEEN the actual offer. Chase doesn't book the offers and has already given numerous amounts of bad info - number of minimum nights and tickets, exclusions, only some people get the offer, etc.

You definitely don't have to be believe me. If you'd rather hear it from Joe I'm sure he'd confirm. The original post in this thread has been updated to exclude POR/POFQ.

I wouldn't say I don't believe you, because I know you are very knowledgeable and helpful! And yes I know Joe said on Facebook also that he is pretty confident in this one.

At this point I just don't know what to believe especially when there are conflicting reports from people stating that they have seen the offer.

That's not usually how it works. Everything is the same for visa holders and GP. So don't get all fired up just yet....wait until the offer is out there for everyone and see what happens. I'm a Visa card holder and I wouldn't think that was fair either if that is the case. :)

I am not sure who has this info, maybe Black, but how often have you seen resorts blocked for Visa promos, only to open back up for the general public. Please, don't say "it's happened," (pleading, not snarky) because our party has to make some tough decisions before 7th as we are basically down to CS and CB which is basically a value in terms of room size, bed size, and theme.

We can go down to Value for that and save money, but I really need to have some idea of odds. There are no other Promos out there for GP in Sept so I need to make this one work.:crazy2:

So I was lucky enough to get pixie dust on a value today. After this occurred I saw a post stating that a CM had stated to someone that the offer should not have been applied and if you were given the offer Disney would be canceling it. This is not true!! I specifically called back an tried to make a change to my reservation to see. The CM (Jake) who has answered many of my question correctly in the past told me that if he makes changes to my reservation prior to the code going live tomorrow that I will lose the free dining as the CM that have it to me should not have applied the code. He also said that bc I already have the reservation to wait a couple weeks to make my edits since the phones will most likely be blowing up for awhile. So I will be calling back in a couple weeks to upgrade my dining plan for two adults for an extra $149.20.

At this point, my question is whether or not you will be required to book a preferred room or if any standards will be available at the values.

Am I the only one who hasn't been able to concentrate at work all day because of following this thread ? Can't wait for GP release on Wednesday....

:wave2: me, me, meeeee too ... and I've not been as busy as I usually am, so I believe I've read every single morsel that this thread has offered today! I need a life :rotfl2:

Think Annie, the Musical: tomorrow ... tomorrow

If using the visa offer you may be able to get a standard. When the offer went GP last year there were slim to no standards available.

How do you know all of this?? Just curious?

The offer works exactly the same way as it has in the past. The codes Chase has been giving are basic package codes for Disney's system. They have nothing to do I with a particular person or card. Anyone calling tomorrow that applies, the DV offer will have the same code in their reservation that people have been getting.

The codes are different based off resort tier and dining plan.

I have found that it is SO WORTH the bit extra for preferred!!! It can be a lot of walking if not! :crazy2: I'll be good with either, but crossing fingers for Preferred, lol!

I have called a couple of times to see if a CM would book FD but no luck but the CM I just talked to was very nice and I asked her if POR would be included (I was hoping to get here as many of you are). She told me "I can't technically give out that info but you should have a back up plan if that helps" Seems it will indeed be excluded. :sad2:

Well, I certainly wouldn't believe Chase since they don't book these offers.

I am so glad we went preferred in December when we took the kids. Sept is an adults only trip and I hooked standard. Hoping I don't regret it.

I'm not 100% sure on this one....I'm thinking, yes, they have opened up more resorts. I think it happened last year actually. BUT....don't hold me to that.
Anyone else have an answer here?!

The only time I remember that happening was when they excluded the family suites, but then included them a week or two into the promo.
