Free Dining 2013 Part 2 ~ The Sequel

I just went to see when the announcement for the September FD came out, because that is when I began to obsess over this. It was April 24TH when danny and black made that announcement. That is two long agonizing months of obsessing over free dining! I just can't take it any more, which is why I am trying to tone down a bit. Especially since I have lost any hope of a pin code and I am thinking nothing will be out to the public until August. I really don't think I can take two MORE months of the stress. So I am trying to wind down a bit.

I understand the feeling. I'm not even planning on going during those times, but trying to find information for those that are.

In the meantime, I've been doing some writing for The Main Street Mouse, along with some other endeavors.

This is exactly how I feel!! I have been calling & checking my email like a mad woman & I need an intervention. Last night I called again, was told no again, so I upgraded our GF room to CL and decided I will just pay for it & hope for a nice refund later. Very excited to surprise my husband & kids with CL - it's a first for us I am going to focus on the good - we will be celebrating my sons birthday & my 13th wedding anniversary at Disney

As soon as I can find where to sign up for that newsletter, I will - couldn't find it when I looked just now. And yes, you're right - having more sources to feed my Disney addiction - err, I mean more sources for Disney magic - is always a good thing.

I know! I lost hope of the PIN when people were saying the availability was gone for values. But at the same time I'm still addicted and stressing. Called again today just for the heck of it, why I don't know, but cannot help myself. No PIN of course, all it did was depress me. That has to be the last time I call, I'm done. But the waiting for GP free dining or even something else is killing me. I've done everything since January to get a PIN, and zip. This time last year I'd had every one that was issued...probably since we weren't going! I want to wind down about it like you're saying, but to scared of missing something. And it seems I just cannot help looking all the time. It sucks this is so important to us, but it is. DH and me talk about it probably once or more a day.

Don't give up hope on FD or on the values. I too have been following all the FD threads, calling at least once a week, checking my email several times a day and watching for the mail everyday for months. I had FD booked in September but couldn't work things out so we could go then and I've been wanting to switch to October. We haven't been since 2010 when DD3 was only a few months old and this time my friend and her family are going with us (its their first visit ...actually their first real vacation). I have been so worried and stressed that we would have to cancel September and without FD for October, we wouldn't be able to go at all. I too almost lost hope when I saw people posting no availability at the values. There will be 12 of us and 3 rooms at a value is the only way we could afford to go.

Well guess what????
Friday night, I asked DH to call AGAIN to check one more time to see if any of us had a PIN. I'm pretty sure we didn't but the wonderful CM on the other end gave us free dining for October. DH came running into the room very excited and put me on the phone to book. I still didn't get my hopes up because I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get FD at a value and it would be worthless to us. She asked me if I had a resort preference and I told her that my 1st choice would be POP but at this point, I would be happy with any of the values. She checked and after what seemed like forever, she booked our three rooms at POP!!!

I'm not sure if this will be good news for you since it might mean more stressing but I would keep calling because FD is still out there and apparently still available at some of the values.

Ya know, all these recent and wonderful stories of folks getting free dining without a PIN makes me wonder if bookings are still considerably low for Disney standards. Makes me think that free dining is a much more real, and likely, possibility for the rest of the year. C'mon on GP!!

I guess I just have not gotten that special cast member yet that was wanting to spread the pixie dust I've called on my Birthday, I've asked if they could give me free dining, I've told them we're going to be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary..and still nothing. I really think it is just luck at this point. So I'm so glad it worked out for you. And it's really great to hear that you were able to get Pop Century!

So we went to see Monster's University today. All four of us liked it. DD and I stayed through the credits for the extra scene at the end. It was cute. Thanks for giving us the heads up about it. DS and DH did not want to wait with us. We did not see it in 3D and I'm glad because there didn't seem to be any special 3D gags in it.

I can't believe all the pixie dust being shared. It is very special for all those receiving it and congrats to you.
