Free Dining 2013 Part 2 ~ The Sequel

Just thinking, but I believe they are only offering a very limited number of rooms for the FD pin. In the big scheme of things, if occupancy is still "low", they could make this a GP offer and open up more rooms for this. Just like there were a set number of rooms for Sept FD, then there were a specific number of rooms just for the pin and so on and so forth. Did I just confuse myself?

That's what it is. Not every room is available for pin usage. Will be calling tomorrow!

Although, I was reading around the boards and it appears these change fees are not always strictly enforced. It might depend on how nice the CM is.

You do not have to rebook, but I think you may have to pay the change in ticket price difference.

Did you have a good weekend? Everything here was rained out. Had a lot of flooding.

Oh good! Weekend was great! Lots of lax and great weather! Drive home....not so much fun. Lol

We will be celebrating my 50th while in Disney too... I plan to wear my celebrating button the entire time... or at least until I get tired of people saying happy birthday to me.... I might need a day or two without the button.... princess:

So glad to hear this my button is staying on LOL. Have a wonderful trip I have 159 days to go

Any particular posts you can link to? I am trying to figure out if anything is different with the process this year. Last year was the first year that you had to pay the increase when you added a discount. At that time, it was catching both CMs and guests by surprise. They eventually discovered that it had to do with the computer system update, and there was no override.

Another odd thing that I noticed...

When I added the PIN, the CM accidentally changed my room type from a standard to a standard pool view. I had this corrected on Friday night. When I had the correction made, I had the info pulled up online showing my total should be $2300.03. Today, the same package is almost $5 less! :confused3

I will have to go back and find them for sure, but yesterday there were a lot of people asking this question due to the price increase today and one particular poster(who posts a lot answering random park questions) said strictly speaking yes you have to pay increase, but this does not always happen.

Maybe the $5 is the June discount...lol.

I worded that weird. I meant that today my exact OCTOBER package is almost $5 less. Same dates, same room type, same ticket selection, but it is cheaper than it was when I booked it. I just happened to be playing around with the site today because DH asked me to invite my mom and grandma on the trip since we can book another room with our PIN. Not sure if they will be going yet or not. They went with us when we took the kids for the first time in 2007, but DD (4 at the time) was afraid of everything and threw up about 10 times from being nervous all the time. :sad2: They haven't been since then, and even though we still ended up having a good time, it would be nice to have a redo. :goodvibes

Awwww! That's a cute story. Yes Grandma and Great-Grandma might want to have a better memory of Disney; although the grams probably thought nothing of it.

Ok, I screwed up. I was reading so much about tick price increase yesterday that I confused it with one question about MNSSHP. Someone asked if it rained could they switch days? And the answer was, strictly speaking no, but there have been exceptions.

Glad I went back and checked.

Perhaps you were thinking of my post a few days back too?? I had mentioned that a CM had told me that I would not have to pay the new higher ticket price if I changed my package, but I've come to believe that my CM may have been referencing pre-2012 info. ;)

That is very true, I could have had that in the back of my mind too. Soo much information and not enough sleep...did I mention that my one year old has taken up not sleeping...can now climb out of his crib AND climb over the extra tall gate....

Good luck with the one year old lol...my 15 month old will not sleep in his crib and is getting too big for the swing AND I really miss sleeping WITHOUT him waking up....he is fine if I bring him back to bed with me and nurse him...he likes the big bed but isn't big enough for his own..

Oh!!! I feel for you! Sleep is not the norm around here lately either. For us, it's croup and an assortment of other minor illnesses. I really should be getting sleep while I can, but the boards are just too much fun. Can't pull away...... :rotfl2:

Hope it's a better night for you, and your little one!

Finally done! 2 hours of catching up. I have been on workation to get money for Disney! My husband and I also started a little home business. It has really taken off. All my time has been there. :( I know this hasn't been brought up in awhile, but I did want to let people know if you upgrade your QS free dining it may not say free on your ressie. don't freak out. Totally missed you guys. Excited for all the pins everyone is getting! What time do people usually do meet ups? At the resort after the park?

The same thing with me.. I went in and was playing around how much it would be if I added the water parks and more, and when I put in EXACTLY what I have now for September, it was $15 less for the package... but at that moment it was 11 p.m. and the next day I wasn't feeling like calling and talking to a cm and what if something got messed up (again!) if I tried to update it.... so I never called... are you going to call?

Little Mermaid :(

:( I'm sorry! That is the one that I really wanted too... but the room only discount didn't apply, I did still have hope that FD would. But at least it didn't for anyone... I do plan to take an hour or so and go there, maybe for a lunch, and just look at the place. And I think.... maybe in a few years, it will be included...:goodvibes enjoy!

Called back again and they told me I did not have a pin, but granted me one to right the cm's mistake. So for the $900 savings I switched hotels, the only drawback is that we have to stay at POP, which is where we stayed last time.

Woohoo on pin!

Just got off of the phone with them, and they did a dummy second reservation, but it was through my free dining PIN, so it came up at the old price.

On a side note, does anyone have experience booking more than one room with a PIN? When I called Saturday, the CM said my mom could stay less nights, but the guy I spoke with this morning said that we all had to stay the same length of time. :confused3
