Free Dining 2008 Watch

Fingers crossed that WDW's (rumored) new policy WILL allow check in up until the 20th AND FD for the length of the stay. I've seen people post both ways but so far no one with any certainty.

What do you think?

:goodvibes

Whoaaaa hold the phone....so if it's offered when I check in but only half way thru.. possibly I could get it for the length of stay. Ohhh...that would make my day! Was this the case last year? Anyone?

Yes, I did get to do it that way last year. Maybe it will work out this year too.

The dates for promotions are usually stated as check in dates which would include the rumored 20th as one of the check-in dates.
Now I for one believe and I hope I am wrong, but with Disney's new policy of day to day pricing then I do not believe that you will be able to check in on the 20th and enjoy free dining the length of your stay.
That said the ticket upgrade was allowed see post http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23340763&postcount=39. This would make sense since the room price does not change but then again the upgrade is just a flat fee on tickets you are paying for for the pkg and would be good for 14 days after first use so having a room would not matter. There was a 3 night minimum on those bookings. We will all have to wait and see.

This phrase was part of a desktop theme that I recently got.... I ended up turning off the sounds cause they ended up being more annoying than standard XP sounds. Did you get it from something like that or is it something common that I am not aware of?

No... this is the beloved phrase you hear each and every time you step onto and off the monorail! My son has the monorail replica sold by Disney and it says the phrase when you turn it on. So, we all have it memorized and quote it to one another when we need a Disney moment. :rotfl:

 (love that monorail!)

When I was researching the prices for my trip I checked and at the Values the price is the same all week long during the off season.

Your mileage may vary if you are staying upscale though.

Slightly Goofy

Called my TA this afternoon and she said she spoke to Disney TA CM and she said they would honor the FD for the length of your stay. :rotfl: Which would be great as our dates are 09/17-09/24 and then I wouldn't need to redo our ADR's if I need to change our dates. For all of us on the brink of a heart-attack I pray that this is true.:worship: But like others I will feel better when we hear more form Visa holders on Monday. I don't think I can wait that long...I am stressed out...my husband says I'm nuts! :dance3:

Thanks for keeping hope alive! I will post back here on Monday after I get off of the phone booking (I am a DV holder).

My hopes:
1) Values are included
2) FD is extended for length of stay if checked in NLT 9/20/08

Clearly my mind is working overtime on this.:surfweb: We are booked at POP for Aug. 21st-29th using a 30% off code that my DMom got. All dining reservations were made under her name. Now that the rumors about free dining are leaning toward the 24th of August, I sure as heck don't want to spend part of my vacation eating food that I had to pay for that others are getting for free.:rotfl: So, I made a whole second set of reservations under my name for free dining dates and told DMom I'd let her know on the 10th what dates we were actually going. (Don't worry, I'll cancel the extra reservations.:goodvibes )
Anyway, the good news is that everything I wanted was still available including tons of openings for CRT.:thumbsup2

I am so confused by all these recent posts... I think I read on the previous page, that if you are booked before 9/20 you can still get the dining for the length of stay, is this correct?
No, it is not correct. It starts when it starts, period.

So, when we call on Monday, we need to have the code ready? Or do we just ask for the free dining to be added to our reservations? Do we get new reservations?

Why do I feel so out of it?
:scared:

Well, it has been reported by more than one poster on this thread as well as others that CMs have stated that if your trip begins before the dining plan expires they will extend it through the remainder of your stay. However, since no one has see anything in print yet, none of us can really say definitively whether or not this is true. :)

I am SO sorry! I was reading that post to mean she was arriving before the promotion STARTED! Dang, when I'm wrong, I'm really wrong! I gotta turn off this computer thingie and get some sleep!

understandable! But are you really gonna get any sleep until this whole thing is over?? :rotfl2:

Oh my I been gone for so long. What is this free dining all about? How do I get in on it ? Is it worth it? Or is it better to just pay for it?
Any help is appreciated

Correct me if i'm wrong- nothing has been announced yet & most of us are just guessing about the dates & policy right?

You should probably read a few of the posts prior to this one to get the jist of it. I would rather get the dining for free than pay for it, but that's just me.
