Free Dining '10 Update: Disney Visa FD Released (See pages 1 & 57+ for details)

I know how this can be but I was told by a CM yesterday that the new promo that is coming out is not free dining. She said that she knew that "it was all over the Disboards " that free dining was coming out but there will be a lot of unhappy people.

Translation: "Yes, free dining is coming out tomorrow and as a result, my commission per booking will be going down. So it's in my best interest to tell you this in an attempt to get you to book today!"

Gotta loved the well-informed Disney CM's!! 3 out of the last 4 phone calls I've made to them have ended with them providing inaccurate info!!

I've been keeping an eye on this (and other threads) since we are crusing in September. I'd love to add on a few days at WDW for the kids and I since it is there week off from school (we know DH can't do an add on because of work stuff). I have been stashing $ aside from odds and ends things here and there for a while now for something like this and if we can do free dining, I think I can swing it. I asked my TA if she knew anything and her answer was that she knew something was coming "very soon" but that she was not convinced it was free dining. She wasn't even sure it would even work for us. She didn't say if it was because of dates or what but I can't imagine another reason why it wouldn't work for us as I'm pretty gosh darn flexible!

It may be that she is just being evasive, it may be that there are more than one offers brewing or it may be that it is something entirely different...it just adds to the mystery!

Sometimes mystery is fun but I could go for some definite right about now!

The current Disneyland promo is a 5 nights for the price of 3 package deal (room + tickets). I wouldn't be surprised if WDW did something similar (though I'm still hoping for free dining!).

Thanks for the input, I have actually been checking availability online for the dates just before our trip and saw there was still a lot open. However, I am trying for Le Cellier and the Fantasmic Dinner package (which I can't do online, I have to call), so I'll be up early tomorrow. I also figure that if free dining is announced, then people will also be trying to make their ADRs right away.

why not make your ADRs anyway? i did mine already... you don't need a resort reservation # to get an ADR unless you will be at the end of sept and need your 180+10 (but i'm thinking not if you are seeing dining availability for your dates)

It doesn't make any sense that they would offer multiple-and significant-discount packages like the 4/3, free QSD, and PINs for everybody and their brother during the busy season, and then not offer something at least as significant, probably even better, during the middle of Hurricane Season!!

C'mon.....share the optimism!!

I have a friend that actually works for the world and she said that the reservation team doesn't know of the promotions until the day of. I can we will see.........it is painful.

I went on their website and the promotions section is empty.

I had a CM tell me once that an offer was valid until June when clearly in front of my face I was looking at the official Disney site with info that the offer was extended until 08/14. The CM didnt even know about it AFTER it came out!! I dont expect them to know about it before!!!

I will be making my ADRs tomorrow morning, which is my 180 days, I'm just hoping that there won't be a ton of other people trying to make their ADRs at the same time, if free dining is announced. I've been checking dining availability for the dates just prior to my stay, just to get an idea of what's open(our dates are Sept 25-Oct 2) . I actually already have our 2 rooms booked with the Military 40% off room rate, but free dining would save us almost $500 with our party of 4 adults, 2 children.

She said that they are the last to know so I don't ever ask her anything. lol....

It is true when you can as a several CM's the same questions and get different answers.

I had the exact same experience once. When I told them to check again because i had read about it being extended, the CM was surprised to see that the deal had been extended......yikes.

Waiting with you all for the FD.........thought for sure it'd be today....

The boards are run by the good folks at Dreams Unlimited. I'm sure Disney will give fair warning to travel agents that the offer is coming. In past years there has always been an update in the scrolling updates on the homepage.

The Disboard has always been THE place to get news of offers first. I think we will get at least 24 hours warning before the offer goes public. They even have noticed when the offer is available to Disney cardholders in the past.

Is anybody else concerned that if they do offer the free dining, it will only be the quick service?? I'm hoping for the best but those pins have me concerned. I don't want 7 days of hot dogs and hamburgers!! Please tell me I am worrying for nothing.
