Free DDP Booking SUCCESS!!? - Post 'Em Here!

We are staying at POP..... it really looks like a fun place. This is my first time there..... you are right, if I keep wishing my trip would be here, I am wishing the summer away... I just can't help it, ha!!

I asked the CM if the balance had to go on this card and she said no.
The CM that I booked through said the balance had to be paid on the Disney Visa.:confused3

After waiting 1hr and 45 min I finally got a room.I wanted ASMO but it was sold out(I got on the phone at 7:00 waited 50 min but had to hang up to take DH to work.By the time I got through it was 9:45) so we got POP.

1 preferred room 8/31-9/5
2A 1JR 1C 1 day base ticket
$809

My parents got a room and my DD8 and DS9 will stay with them.I bought one day tickets and will upgrade when we get there.:cheer2:

Still no Email...:confused3

I think I went to my preferences after I did not receive one last year and changed something ... now if you ask me where I went to change this, I can't remember... anyone else able to help out ?? It was somewhere on chase.com I think :confused3

We are booked for 4 nights- 5 days with the Disney Visa Card through Walt Disney World Travel Co.- hope they didn't mess up:scared1: - I haven't gotten the email yet!

We absolutely can not add another day to the trip- the kids have school and we did this last year and they were coinsidered "unlawful absenceses"

So lie? :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 I called at 7:10 AM central time and was on hold for an hour 10 minutes. The booking took about 20 minutes. We got exactly what we wanted!

2 standard room at Pop Century 9/13/07-9/17/07

2 connecting rooms (one has to be handicap accessible for my Mom)
non smoking with complimentary refrigerator included for diabetic supplies

room 1 - (us) 2 ad/2 child - 4 day MYW base tickets, no insurance - $1163
room 2 -(mom/Dad) - handicap accessible- 1 MYW base tickets - $515.66

Mom and Dads 1st trip to WDW. They only booked 1 day MYW tickets because they might need a day or so in between to rest and will upgrade there as needed!:rotfl:

We also called and got all of our ADR's set up and got exactly what we wanted and for the times we wanted.
:goodvibes
Last year we decided much later to take advantage of free dining (June) and had to pick our alternates for dining or much later times. This time is was soooo much better!

We get off of our 4 night cruise for our 10th anniversary then off to WDW for 5 days. It doesn't get any better than that!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I called my AAA agent and gave her my info around 10:00am this morning she called back about 15 min later and had me booked for 6 nights at CSR :cool1:

Started calling Grand Gatherings at 6:57am and was put on hold at 6:59am. We had a conference call with 5 of us on the line. Our call was finally answered at 8:39am by CM Mikayla. :woohoo: She was very nice and helpful. :goodvibes She said she started at 8:30 this morning and there were already 180 calls in the queue!

Anyways we were able to get everything we wanted for the dates we wanted! :cool1: Got 6 rooms at POP, 1 one 10 nights, 2 for 8 nights, 2 for 7 nights and 1 for 6 nights. However, my nephew called first thing this morning and couldn't get WL, only concierge rooms left, but was able to get the Poly w/free dining for the same thing he had at WL without the discount. DS is sticking with the 40% off discount at the Contemporary since that worked out to be a better deal for him. :thumbsup2

We finally got off the phone at 9:40, so it almost took 3 hours! I couldn't wait to get home from work to check the boards and post this. :yay:

This worked out great for us because some in our group are now going who wouldn't have been going and some are going longer than what they originally planned on because of the free dining! All in all we have 9 rooms booked with 30 going now! party:

Did you have 2 or more Disney Visa's between all of you? Just wondering how you booked all those rooms?

Has anyone booked AKL with Free Dining? I tried to go through all the posts but didn't see anyone with AKL, I'm wondering if it's available with the free dining.

Thanks!

Yes, we have several Disney Visas - 5 between us - DH and I have one, 2 of my DDs each have one each, DDIL and DS have one and my nephew has one also. I booked 2 rooms for 6 of us (me, DH, 2 DS and 2DDs). DD #1 booked for her family of 4, DD #2 booked a room for her family (4) and a room for her DMIL and DFIL (she just had to put the deposit on her Visa for both rooms). DDIL booked one room for 4. My nephew has his own Visa and booked for his family (5). They are staying at the Poly. My other DS, his wife and DGD are staying at the Contemporary but not with the free dining. They have 40% off Tower Room MK view as this was a better deal for them. DBIL and DSIL are getting a room only for 2 nights, no package as they are season passholders.

We were also told that you don't have to pay the balance with your Visa, which I know conflicts with what others are saying. But we will be paying our balance off with it anyways, so it really doesn't matter.

Can you understand why I'm going crazy keeping up with all of this and making the ADRs are a nightmare! I have changed them so many times because we keep getting more and more in our party!

Yeah that's my problem too. Stressing over adding people to our ADRs, stressing over being the only Disney Visa holder in the bunch, stressing over hotel availability for our last 2 rooms on Thurs. Sigh.
Thanks! :thumbsup2

7:30 AM 4/9/07

Booked online with Disney Visa and immediately called Disney Travel to modify my reservation to apply the free dining code. Was on hold for 1 minute before CM picked up. Even snuck in an ADR.

9/8-9/15 @ the Poly

:dancer:

FYI...I created a spreadsheet that has all the information on it when I booked my ADRs. It has the date, time, restaurant, who is going, ages of children, how many vouchers, etc. I also have a spreadsheet of our daily itinerary and whoever wants to park hop with us is welcome to, but everyone is pretty much on their own if they don't. I will email everyone a copy when I've finalized it. It is still a work in progress, because it's been changing pretty much every day since I created it! LOL!! I figured I've done my part and they can do what they want to. My nephew frequents these boards now (he's new on them), so he is learning fast what Disney is all about too!

I'll send some Pixie dust pixiedust: to you and keep my fingers crossed that you get the rest of your rooms on Thursday! FWIW, we didn't get in early on the free dining last year because we were on a cruise from 3/30 through 4/9. We found out when we got back on 4/10 and were still able to book 4 rooms at POP. :thumbsup2

I'm in, gitty gitty gitty goo!

Well, I wish I was getting Pop, agent said it was sold out very fast. (as in this morning) He also said NO more rooms are becoming available for general public at a later time. We just got a chance to get in early.

Me, too. I made the mistake (@ approx 9 AM) of listening to the CM that said "there's lots of availability, just call back tonight or tomorrow" to switch everyone to POP at once (we were in ASMo pref, but there was no availability w/FD). I needed to switch 6 rooms, and they were limiting me to 3 per card and I did not have DD's info. I called my cousin to remind her to call, but she "didn't get to it". It took me over 2 hrs on the phone, but I switched everybody to ASSp/pref and free dining. The resort is not anyone's first choice, but the savings range from $280 to $900 over the 40% off code. Value cat. choices were ASMu std or ASSp pref, and that's it. We kept our Poly rooms as the discount was better than FD.

It's sure different than last yr - then, we didn't book until mid-June and had mult choices in every cat, incl POP for values.

I bet some more rooms will open up.:) Just keep checking back once and a while!:goodvibes There will be people who don't end up going, etc.;)
