Free DDP Booking SUCCESS!!? - Post 'Em Here!

Booked ASMo for September 13-18, but I had to get a "preferred" room. No standard rooms were available.

Sounds like Values and Moderates are going first, so probably only Deluxes will be left by the end of the week???

The room allocations for Disney card holders are separate from the general public.

And I think you'll see that they are offering mainly preferred rooms at the value resorts in general because those are slightly more profitable than the standard rooms.

Booked Pop 9/15-9/25. We wanted 9/20-9/30 but the 16th,17th,18th,19th and 20th were already sold out.

I have a question I think I know the answer too but I have to ask (just incase I'm missing something). To the people who book the free dining package w/ a 1 day base ticket. Is it because you have an annual pass? I know you have to book at least a 1 day ticket. I was just wondering if there was some other way you save $ on passes that I'm missing. Thanks

Booked POP preferred after 1hr and 50 minute wait.
Aug 27-Sept 3. I had a package for a standard and upgraded to preferred room and added on free dinging. Also booked a room for my parents- no problems. My sister and my friend upgraded to POP preferred after a 2 hr wait this morning also.

I booked 1 day base tickets because I have tickets from 2003 five day hoppers plus waterparks never used. Other may have AP's and need to get a day ticket to qualify for free dining

Booked the gardenview room at the Poly 9/8-9/15. I got on hold at 659am and held for 90 minutes before getting someone live. Then their computers were really slow so it took 15 minutes to book it instead of the normal 5. But at least we got what we wanted! :thumbsup2 Our first time staying at the Poly!!!:goodvibes

I really don't think there's any way for a CM to know if rooms will be added to the code inventory based on a release to the general public. That's really speculation. It would be really nice for those having to wait to book on Thursday if this were the case, but neither you nor anyone else here knows that at present.

As for the preferred rooms, it appears those are the category remaining at the moment at some resorts. 3 weeks ago AsMovies was already sold out of standard rooms for the last week of September, so this has nothing to do with the code released for free dining this morning to cardholders. Categories are available until filled... much like all the less expensive room categories have now been filled for certain dates at WL and AKL. People who are using this opportunity to try a deluxe resort for the lowest possible cost... can't blame them!

:)

I'm in, gitty gitty gitty goo!

Well, I wish I was getting Pop, agent said it was sold out very fast. (as in this morning) He also said NO more rooms are becoming available for general public at a later time. We just got a chance to get in early.

Wow...I can't believe those are already gone! Those are my two top choices :sad1: I hope they open more rooms for it on Thursday. Is it still Thursday - someone who got the email mentioned it was opening to the general public on April 22nd - not 12th...can anyone confirm/deny this??

I got the e-mail at 5:52pm today. It opens to the general public on 4/12. My only question is this: In the e-mail, it says you must book a minimum 5 night stay. I've seen quite a few people book 3 night stays. I'm not going to Disney until November, and I'm trying to plan ahead for the next round of discounts. We are staying at BCV on points for 5 nights & then planning on staying at Poly for 4 nights. I haven't booked air yet, but if the prices come down, I will probably book it before the Nov discounts come out. If they offer free dining again with a minimum of 5 nights, it would be cheaper for me to add a night then to pay for the dining plan (which I plan to do). I am probably just overanalyzing this. Congrats to everyone that got the free dining so far - and good luck to everyone on Thursday!

Several people have booked with 3 nights. 3 nights appears to be the "real" minimum.

We are booked for 4 nights- 5 days with the Disney Visa Card through Walt Disney World Travel Co.- hope they didn't mess up:scared1: - I haven't gotten the email yet!

We absolutely can not add another day to the trip- the kids have school and we did this last year and they were coinsidered "unlawful absenceses"

Started calling Grand Gatherings at 6:57am and was put on hold at 6:59am. We had a conference call with 5 of us on the line. Our call was finally answered at 8:39am by CM Mikayla. :woohoo: She was very nice and helpful. :goodvibes She said she started at 8:30 this morning and there were already 180 calls in the queue!

Anyways we were able to get everything we wanted for the dates we wanted! :cool1: Got 6 rooms at POP, 1 one 10 nights, 2 for 8 nights, 2 for 7 nights and 1 for 6 nights. However, my nephew called first thing this morning and couldn't get WL, only concierge rooms left, but was able to get the Poly w/free dining for the same thing he had at WL without the discount. DS is sticking with the 40% off discount at the Contemporary since that worked out to be a better deal for him. :thumbsup2

We finally got off the phone at 9:40, so it almost took 3 hours! I couldn't wait to get home from work to check the boards and post this. :yay:

This worked out great for us because some in our group are now going who wouldn't have been going and some are going longer than what they originally planned on because of the free dining! All in all we have 9 rooms booked with 30 going now! party:

Good for you Momto8 that sounds like a FANTASTIC time just waiting to happen, have a great time!! We are going with 10 in all, we are in 4 rooms and we are so excited!! I dont think I can really wait 4 long months:yay:

Thank you, Dianewes!! I'm sure you'll have a great time too!! I know I can hardly wait, but I'll be wishing my summer away until this trip gets here! It will be our 35th wedding anniversary too! :cool1: All of my kids and grandkids will be there as well as my DBIL & DSIL, Dnephew and his wife and 3 kids. :cool1:

I also forgot to post my dates. They are 9/20 through 9/30.
