Free DDP Booking SUCCESS!!? - Post 'Em Here!

I don't know where I have been! ARGH! I'm just finding out about this this morning! We had FD last year and loved it!

What are the requirements this year? Is there a night minimum? Ticket minimum?
Thanks!

Got CSR for 9/7-9/15 2 adults standard room....they had no king rooms left.

$1925 with 8 day hoppers and dining.

FYI - The CM said there were 168 people on line on the phone behind me. I was on hold for about a 1/2 hour. Also he mentioned something about them hoping to get people to upgrade to moderate or deluxe rather than value with this promotion that is why the value resorts seem to be booking up faster. I would think that after a few weeks they may open up more value rooms but it's just a guess.

HLAuburn - I did not request a room. I might do that closer to our trip. From what I have heard there are no bad rooms at the Poly. I saw you booked for 1 child, mine children are 2 and 5. We have never stayed at the Poly before, but really wanted to this time for the convenience with the little ones. We will be arriving early on the 15th, so look for us in our Auburn shirts. I'm sure my son (5) will wear his! By the way we graduated in '95, any chance you or your husband were there at that time.

Our daughter will be just over 3 when we go. We're doing a 4 night cruise first, and then the 4 nights at the Poly. I've only stayed there once as a very little kid, and DH has never stayed there, but we've always wanted to. I think we're going to get spoiled with the monorail. Last trip when DD was 1.5, we stayed at WL and that was pretty convenient with the boat to MK, but you can't beat hopping on a monorail. I still can't believe I'm paying $330+ a night for a hotel room, but I guess technically its a hotel room AND food! Thank goodness we have tickets left over from our last trip.

DH and I both went to Auburn then! I actually went from 1994-1997, then transferred to UAB. DH graduated in 1996. Small world! Maybe we know you guys! ;)

Today it became available to Disney Visa card holders. Dates 8/26 - 9/22. Pacakage must be at least 3 nights and at least a 1 day ticket must be purchased. It will open to the General public on Thursday.

Obviously they need some new phone work.. some people on hold 1-2 hours, and other only 20 mins. Sup? with that?

I was just wondering a little more about this...

My hubby has the annual pass (my kids and I do not) and was going to call and try to book something for free dining, however - wasn't sure how this would all work out since he does have an AP. Could he use his AP with free dining while we buy LONGER than length of stay park hopper tickets?

Why I ask about my kids and I getting longer than length of stay park hopper tickets is, we were going to book a September trip first (with free dining) and are considering booking a trip prior to that one in - July potentially. Could we get 10 day park hopper passes when booking the free dining on September but use 5 of the days for our earlier trip in July, then use the other 5 days on the ticket in September with free dining?

Hopefully that made sense. :)

Just wondering if you (or anyone for that matter) could clear than up!

Thanks so much in advance!

Deb*

You need to book the September trip with 1-day passes for everyone. In July, book room-only (or passholder rate with hubby's pass), and purchase the 10-day non-expiring tickets for you and your children separately. Then you will have days left over on those tickets to use in September, and you will also have one-day tickets for everyone to use in September or to save and upgrade to something else later.

I got one standard room at Pop for two adults one child under 3 with 9 day hoppers and FREE DINING for 1280.34 (no insurance)!! Travel dates 9/1 - 9/9

was worried as our trip dates are 8/23-9/2 and did not want to change them but get free dining 8/26 on:

after holding for 1.5 hours, a very helpful CM gave some different options. Had to split the reservation into 2:

First reservation 8/23-3 with dining and 9 day park hoppers
2nd reservation 8/26-7 nights with one day park hopper and FREE DINING

bottom-line--everything done and saved over $1000 (there are six on us) from the original 10 day reservation that we included dining plan on.

YEAH--and thanks for all the help!

Was on hold for approx 1/2 hr- used the 800 #. Got POP, 9/20-9/23, with one day tickets. No problems! Plus, I asked if anything happened to be available for CRT breakfast that weekend- thinking no way- and YES- got breakfast on Sat. :cool1:
