I know when I bought 150 more points last year at SS I got 2 annual passes and I believe they are regular. I haven't used them yet. I will be curious to find out. I am just going to pay the difference to make them premium.
When I got them for an add-on at SSR a couple years ago, there were standard, but, when I went to upgrade them I actually got a surprise, and made $10 each on them. In other words, I took the standard passes to DDD WS ticket office, and upgraded them to PAP, and got $20 in return. I am still a bit baffled why I was handed $20 for getting a better pass, but I took it and promptly spent it at Ghirardelli on chocolate milkshakes before I got back to the resort.
We visited DVC at DL about a year ago and bought into DVC two days ago with our guide from DL over the phone. You don't have to be there in person when you make the purchase to get the free AP's, but apparently you do have to have visited DL DVC at some point.
We joined in May in DL and recieved the AP's. They are for Prem ones in DL or regular WDW ones.
We just upgraded them to Premium ones here and I think we paided just over 100.00 to do so.
I bought at WDW yesterday and asked about the free annual pass and they are not running that promotion. My guide said I was the second person to ask him yesterday. He said many times the DL and Chicago offices will run different promotions then WDW. They are still offering the $8 or $10 per point and the $500 disney dollars for Disney Visa holders.
I just received my paperwork in the mail. The document says "Disneyland Resort Preview Center Annual Pass Incentive Agreement First-time and existingMembers (sic)"
Blah.. blah, blah....

When we did our add-on over the phone with our guide in California, we did not get them. We had just purchased our first contract with him about a month before while on a trip to DL where we did get them.
