We are home. Today went okay. I told them next time they so need to knock me out. My Dr was very good about trying to make sure I was as pain free as she could make me. John read to me The Appeal by John Grisham.
So now I will have to have a visting nurse come in everyday and deal with the packing for at lest a month.

Ooooh....that sounds like a good one. I'll try it some time soon. Right now I'm eating a huge slab of zuchinni bread warmed up and smeared with cream cheese. I had to have something with my coffee you know? The coffee is a must have since DS didn't sleep at all today. So, I'll be rounding out my day of nutritious eating by sending DH out for pizza.

I obviously missed this segment this morning! Thank you for the link to it-it sounds delicious!

I could have sworn I heard them say this recipe had pineapple in it. So, I ran to the computer to find it. I don't see it in the recipe so I will have to watch the video again and hear what they said about pineapple.

They are hoping. The visting nurse will have also give me a shot I think everyday to help with the infection.

How is John holding up? John is great. He is so good. I am not so sure I would have gotten this far without him.

No- not sure who she is- this is an old pic.

I think JD is so different from other celebs- he does his own thing and likes to keep out of the public eye, that is why he spends most of his time in France.- He never wants any pics of his kids published either.

Kellie! So glad everything went OK and is now over! The anticipation sometimes is worse than the actual procedure! Well- not as painful, but more emotional

I checked to see if you had checked in before leaving for work and missed your post by just a little So now I'm home and your most definitely sleeping by now...hopefully the happy pills will keep you out of it for a couple days...be a good girl and take them faithfully for the next 24-48 hours anyway.

Sounds like your a little down (not that I blame you). Just keep reminding yourself that everyday that goes by is a day your are healing. You have a wonderful man there beside you...you would be amazed at how many cut & run at the "in sickness" part of their marriages....or maybe not. Give John an extra "atta boy" from me....a kiss is too personal and a hug sounds painful right now so just smack him in the butt and tell him he's a gem I work at a visiting nursing job now and they are amazing!!! (thats the job I switched over to a couple months ago). They really do care about there patients and are there to help you, let them. They will also try to teach John how to do dressing changes and other things as the wound heals. Do you have a wound vac or just that packing & dressing changes? I know it sounds awful but you need this infection to leave your system and an open wound is the best route right now vs. being absorbed into your body. If you need a lift up we will post silly pictures, sexy pictures, wacko stories of our CVS trips or just our messed up lives in general, even when our troubles may seem pale in comparison to what you are going through.

It seems to get quiet on the Dis as the weekends approach.

My back is about 40% better, thanks for asking - I am keeping the ICE on my back all day long- with the ice and meds I usually limber up a little by late afternoon. Hoping that is the case today b/c I need to shave my legs NOT an easy task when your back goes out

I am going down the shore tonight. NOT going on the boat though. Afraid of too much rocking. I will chill by the pool while he goes out sailing. I was going to stay home- but I will miss him too much and what is the difference- I can work on my tan while down there.

Not sure if we will get to the boardwalk- I told DH if SIL and BIL ask us to go to the boardwalk I have stipulations I will NOT go to any pier to watch the kids ride rides- DH and I do that all the time (just last week actually) I will tell them you go your way- and we will meet up with you- I can't take another moment of screaming kids, crowds and loud rides ...... unless it is Disney

I'm here! Once again I've been scurrying around like crazy all morning. Harvested another 3 million zuchinni and had to water the whole garden since it's pretty dry right now. The kids played on their water slide the whole time and acted somewhat civilised. Then I ran on the treadmill. I can now run a little over 4 MILES!!!!! After that I made up a batch of honey oat bread dought to rise. DH helped a friend rob his hives on Friday so we got some fresh honey. Then it was lunch for the kids and now yelling back and forth with DS trying to get him to nap. Same old same old.

Kellie-so glad you're home. I hope you are feeling better today.

Madd-hope your back feels well enough for you to enjoy your weekend. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Kellie I am glad you are back home. Take it easy this weekend if you can and remember we think of you ever day and often. Madd I am sorry your back is giving you heck again I hope too that you can enjoy your weekend. For me it is back to packing we are moving in about two weeks and let me tell you kids think you are killing them when you ask them to pack up thier own room I told her I would gladly do and a local charity would get half her toys man that changed her tune I knw deep down I would never do it but she doesn't For all you other moms try and have a relaxing weekend if thats possible. By the way who is making the adult slushes this weekend I do believe a handful of us could use a couple.

Gotta share what my DD just said to me. "Mommy, you and Daddy are always working. You need to relax." Then a pause and "When we grow up, we'll do all the work so you can relax." Yeah, I really see THAT happening.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and that Kellie is getting lots of rest and beginning to feel better!

DS finally got his driver's license a couple of weeks ago and we are having to MAKE him drive himself places this weekend. He drove himself to a movie last night (near home) and he is driving himself across the valley to work this morning. When I told him he needed to drive himself to work today, he teared up. I think he really is terrified to drive alone!

My kids have never been like other kids....not even as teenagers!

Our painter is out today to get things moving along a little. DH says he can't sleep with the windows sealed up and he says that is what is making him cranky. He has asked her to get one side of the house painted so we can open the windows on that side. So far, she has been spraying primer on the siding. I am excited to see what the color we picked out will look like on the house.

So far, so good. The weather is holding up this weekend and everything is sunny! I hope everyone else is having good weather....

Thanks for your good wishes DH has been outside since 7:00am this morning. He hasn't even come up to the house to ask for anything to eat! I don't think he will be coming back into the house until he absolutely has to.

I have been hoping that DS will realize any day now that he really can do it. I learned how to drive in Southern California and I remember being afraid of driving on the freeway back then. I am not sure I got over the fear of Southern California freeways....

Madd....do you know how to make a rice bag for your back? You just pick a small piece of heavy flannel, sew it into a rectangle size of your choice, fill it 3/4 full of regular rice, and sew the end shut. It can be kept in the freezer to be used cold or microwaved to be used hot. I use mine ALOT!
