Hi y'all..wondering what you were up to. Susan, your guy is so....much taller than you..how do you keep him under control? he is good looking, I can see where he gets it from..mom..;)

I got one of those cracker coupons today, too. I just like regular Wheat Thins I didn't check to see if I can use it for those. I also got a really nice thick beach towel from Parliament. I remember doing this, we got to customize our own towel with color and design. I can't believe they sent this! And this little thing, looked like an old fashioned lighter, but it's got a little hole in it...it's a beach ashtray. I would so love to give this to one of those morons on the beach who think it is just a giant ashtray.

CUL8R take care y'all.

Thanks for the complement, you are very sweet! My 'lil' guy is 16 and 6' tall. He is such a character! :rotfl: And, for all the ways he drives me crazy, he is my "momma's boy". I have always been closest with him even though we get on each others nerves eventually...maybe we are just too much alike!? ;) He still gives me hugs in front of his high school peers....he can't be all bad, can he? :lovestruc

You made quite the freebie haul today! :thumbsup2

Y'all have a good weekend! :dance3:

Hi freaps- just watching the Flyers kick the Canadiens' butts in game 2:cool1:

Went to NYC today- I was a bit disapointed- one of the girls who was not going to go- ended up going and she wanted to go to Greenwich Village b/c she has never been- that means Midtown was out.

Something was up with the subway to downtown so we ended up walking- um, get this, 30 blocks to the Village from the bus station in Midotwn:sad2: Went to eat at Jekyll and Hydes- ugh- if anyone is planning on going- don't bother! It stunk! We wandered around the Village for a while- grabbed the subway back uptown- walked around and then came home.

It was way too crowded for my liking. We are going to go back maybe the first week of December during the WEEKDAY- this time we are staying uptown around Rockefeller Center etc.

How are the freaps doing this fine Saturday??

My DBIL lives in the village..he and his partner live across the street from Liv Tyler.

Tell me about it! He still cycles at least 3-4 times a week averaging 30-40 miles each time (more like 60 miles on the weekends) I don't get the attraction :confused3 . The rule is now that he HAS to call me a 7:30 am on weekday mornings that he rides to tell me that I don't have scrape him off of someone's car hood!

Cool! Do you ever go for a visit?:confused3

I thought the Village was nice, it was "quaint"- I would have enjoyed it more if we had a darn map and a plan! It reminded me more of parts of Philly, like Society Hill or even the Rittenhouse Square area- more relaxed than Midtown- man- those people move way too fast for me.

Does your BIL ever shop at the Magnolia Bakery- the cupcakes looked incredible but there was a line just to get in to buy things! Was not sure if it would have been worth the wait. We took a quick walk through Union Square and my friends darted right into the subway back to Midtown- I would have liked to check the square out- But! I insisted we stop in and see Balduccis! That for me, was a must!:worship: I would love to go shopping there one day and be able to bring my purchases home with me:rotfl2: - it would have been a tad bit of a problem to lug the stuff on the subway and the bus.

I said the city part did not shock me b/c I do go to Philly all the time, it just reminded me of that- it was the fast pace on a freaking Saturday at that- that got me. Can you say- chill out!?

We were waiting for a light to turn green and I said to one of my friends- I think I am more of a Savannah kinda girl- this is too crazy for me!:lmao:

NEXT time I WILL get to see the Sirius building! When we were walking through Midtown- I kept saying "I wanna see Alec Baldwin" I love that show 30 Rock!:yay: And- next time- I am going to see if my friend's want to eat at some pleace like Sardi's not a "themed" restaurant like Jekyll and Hydes (ugh), Hard Rock or Bubba Gumps:rolleyes:

Mine rides too, I don't know how far, not 60 miles..about an hour on some pretty busy roads. For awhile, he would call me every single time to come and get him because he had a flat tire. It happened about 6-7 times, then it stopped. I don't know what he did different, but going to pick him up was getting really old. At least he wasn't gettin hit by a car like yours..

Mine rides around with a spare tube and pump, so I've never had to pick him up - just scrape him up;)

Hey - where is Madd?

They moved to the village about 6 years ago. He and his wife (now ex of course) lived in a nice little apartment in Chelsea for about 5 years. That was the last time I visited..then kids...you know..But my DH goes to NY for school purpose every 6 mohts or so, he takes some students to some Ad agencies to see what they are getting themselves into..he teaches advertising design at SCAD.

I will ask DBIL about Magnolia Bakery. That must be one of those cupcake places I read about in magazines where So and So celebrity will order them for the "crew" of her new movie or whatever. I will have to settle for Duncan hines, I ain't waitin in line for a cupcake..

I enjoy going to the city, but it makes me really nervous. I am always afraid someone is going to get me(too many movies set in NYC) and I can feel the energy from everyone walking around. Although I have to admit, whenever we go I haven't really encountered anyone rude or nasty like the reputation. We have encountered the foreign taxi driver. We were racing from DBIL's apartment to the airport. Went to a busy corner (Sunday) and tried to flag down a cab. Finalyy got one, but we asked before we got in..do you know how to get to JFK airport..sure, sure, get in..so we get in, and the guy starts driving in the wrong direction, then turns to DH and asks him how to get there. Thennnnnnn...crash! The poor sonofagun hits a policecar. (I think the police car hit him). So we get out, try to pay and get another cab. He says, just go, the cop says we can go (another reason I think the cop hit him-no witnesses wanted!) so we flag another cab that wisks ups to the airport, and we made it.

this scenario is making me hypervenilate. Why don't you just come down to Savannah, instead? :rotfl:

I also visited NYC with two girlfriends when I was about 20. One friend had a brother who knew every subway stop we needed, so we went all over. We got lost in Harlem and my one GF got off the stop..we had to jump out to stay with her. Then a woman walked up behind me and said, "You girls should get out of here, now!" Ok lady no problem, how do we go in the other direction? We were looking for the Village, had romantic thoughts of painters in the parks, performers on the sidewalks.. We got off the stop and ended up in a gay porno shop....got the heck outta there, too.

Hey - where is Madd?

Here I am! I am OK!;)

I did not feel afraid at all.

But I know what you mean about the energy- I absorb everyone's weirdness or energy- I always say I am like a "sponge":lmao: I admit- I *did* have to take a xanax about a half hour into the visit- I forgot my ativan at home :headache: and thak goodness my friend is a little neurotic, but not as bad as me, and she carries her meds with her:rotfl2: It helped a little- I could have used another one- but I decided against it.

I keep mentioning Savannah to DH- I told him we have to do another trip there b/c we loved it so much- I NEED to see Bonaventure this time- we missed it the last time! We were only there overnight on our way to Charelston-

I want to take about 5 days this time In Savannah- I was not crazy about Charleston- it seems like NYC compared to Savannah!

You are so lucky to live in a place that is just so beautiful!

I was over reading the "food shortage" thread.

But now I need to get little ones off to bed. :teeth: They are up past bedtimes. They  when Mommy gets lost DISing.
:lmao:

I've been wondering that exact same thing about you? Glad everything is OK..

Sundays are my work day at the mall so I don't get home till 6:30 and then it's supper, get kids ready for school the next morning, etc. so I am just popping in now to catch up on everything.

I have been VERY busy today just e-mailing friends most of the day! ;)

I have also been posting a lot of JD pics on the Eye Candy thread- it seems the guys on the CB THINK they compete with our thread- :rolleyes1 Boys are so silly.........:sad2:

Go ahead boys, you just try and beat our 644 total yummy pages of JD and Orlando!:dance3:
