Hi y'all! I have been MIA for a couple of days, but I wanted to pop in and give you guys a little taste of Spring..especially those of you in the frozen north. Even though the calendar still says winter, looks like no one told these guys..

SPRING HAS SPRUNG HERE!! Thought I would share some spring pics with y'all...

These guys just showed up with their momma at the pond we have in our subdivision.

DS9 found this FIVE leaf clover a few days ago. (one is hidden in the pic.) He made me email Ripley's Believe It or Not..they have not responded...

I love the photos. The one of the mom and baby in the water is my fav.
We are still clod any snowy here.
Where I work DD Shaunna calls it wild kigdom. Madd you would love it. DD works for me in the summer and on school breaks and can not believe the wild life we have. Everyday we have deer, ducks wild turkeys, wolfs, a ton of bats, foxes. It is funny because they have no fear of anyone and sit on the patio at work like they own the joint.

Isn't that they BEST view!

The condo DH and I used to live in backed up to the woods- we had a few fox....es? And tons of deer- In the winter I woud feed them every day!

I would go and buy the sweet deer feed- Every day after work I would go out in the storage area on our balcony to scoop out their food- you should have seen them all come running up to the edge of the woods! They would wait for me- they usually averaged about 10 of them- from babies to adult males with antlers! Those adult deer never lasted- the hunters got to them every season:sad1:

As I would approach the woods- the adults would be a bit skiddish (sp?) however, the young ones- would try and come up to me and meet me with the food- I couldn't let that happen (I did not want them to get used to humans- some people are freaks!:sad2: You never know what they could do to them- we had one &%$#.....*&^%##...*&%# OK you get the idea- who would go out into our woods with a BOW! Sit up in the tree and pick off the deer! He was a SCUMbag! The darn woods were part of our Association's property- there were trails in the woods- people and kids could easily be back there at anytime!) anyway- I would stomp my foot to give them a scare......of course, for their own good:guilty:

you should have gotten a bow an sat in a tree and picked him off.:lmao: We have a group of us women who feed all the animals everyday. But we take it to the edge of the parking lot to do it for the reasons as you we do not want them to get used to us and end up trusting the wrong person.
We always count the baby ducks and geese we get every year and make sure they are okay. We had a truck driver call the animal control on us and tell them we where keeping them trapped and not allowing them to eat. I thought the CEO was going to lose his mind when they showed up. He told them not only are they feed and well taking care of he has the bills for food and a couple of vet bills for a couple of hurt ducks to prove it. The animal control officer said we where good to go and he wished eveyone cared like us.
Then the CEO called and fired the trucking company it was great:cool1:

I wasn't going to share this, but since y'all are aware of the harsh realities of the food chain...we count the baby ducks, too. Seems like evey time we see them, there are a couple missing. The hawks get them.:sad1: It is so bittersweet to see the little cuties, then you make the mistake of counting them..then you notice when one is missing. The poor mommas, I wonder if it hurts them to lose their babies like that..

In that pond we have a visiting Blue Heron who is gorgeous, an occasional egret, and about a year ago a family of river otters for just a fews days in a row..then they never came back. We used to have about 10-12 of those ugly ducks, so there would be lots of babies in the spring. They would wander all over the yards of the houses by the pond. The people closest complained about all the duck poop in their yard, and the HOA hired someone to capture all but 3 and relocate them. Someone ran over one of therm, so we were down to two. I was worried what would happen if another was hit by a car, do ducks get lonely? Anywya this momma and her family (daddy came too) just appeared the other day, so now we have 4 adults and however many babies.. And turtles and frogs...of course. The toad in the picture was in our yard, during the summer the boys will go around at night and fill a bucket full of them. Then after a few minutes they will take them back and of course the confused toads never end up where they came from.

I love living with all the critters..even the warty ones.

Hey where is tinkerbean and our sweet maggie?
Did we ever find the thread that Maggie got kicked because?

Well in the am John and I go and meet with eveyone for the last time before my surgery. My Primary is going with us again. I gotta love that man he has cleared his time to be with us for a couple of the tough days. Last week when I had to go thru a bunch of test and have the MRI done he showed up so he could be there for John. When they put me in the MRI machine they allowed him and John to be in the glass booth with the tech. It was great seeing them as they moved me into the machine but it was also hard seeing tears running down John face. They put the headphones on me and I thought I would hear music for the whole time but instead John read poems to me. And when it got tuff on him my Primary Dr took over.
The only music I heard was one song John had them play it is a country song called tough. John said it fits me to a tee.
I guess I will keep this guy for a while

Good luck Kell! I think the doctor will understand but may tell you to call him 1st next time so he can join you in a couple :thumbsup2

You know what they say- "hair of the dog" Just bring some extra shots for the docs and nurses today and forget about the headache....and everything else!

GOOD LUCK!

Kellie, I will be thinking about you today..I hope things go well today..

Good mornin' all! Kellie, have as good a day as possible and we'll be here when you get back! :goodvibes

I did not get one email notification of posting on this thread all weekend! What's up with that?

I love the dresses you posted, Madd....perfect for summer and soooo cute. :thumbsup2

I actually said "awwwww" out loud when I saw the ducks and babies! :lovestruc We have a park with ponds and birds and babies in town. Every spring a few of the babies swimming out on the water would disappear and someone finally started watching to see what was happening. Believe it or not, there were fish in the pond big enough to come up to the water surface and just suck one of those baby ducks right in and then swim away! Have you ever heard of such a thing?? Duckling-eating fish!!???

Saturday night, when there was nothing on tv, we watched X-Files. I bought the whole series when they came out. The first couple of seasons were really good, now, some are getting to be too much for me! There was the inbred family...they were all deformed and quite mentally challenged because they would only breed within their own family! :scared: The child murderer that would steal the little girls away in their night gowns and then cut a heart-shaped piece of fabric from the chest of their clothes to keep as a trophy before he buried them. :sad1: I actually got up and walked out of the room for that one the other night. I told DH "I am done with this for tonight". :sad2:

Yesterday, we took a drive an hour south and looked at some property. This area is getting too built up and it is driving me crazy to be here. I think it is finally getting to DH, too, because he is actually looking at other properties. One of the places we looked at would be perfect for us but it is on an Indian Reservation and we don't know what the implications of buying on a reservation could possibly be. DH is interested so I guess we'll have to find out! :confused3
