An aww poor thing but a feel good story too:
http://www.charter.net/news/news_reader.php?storyid=14436394&feedid=176

Madd....I just sent you an email!

That story was not TOO bad....but you remind me of my mom when she tells me an animal story......

She ALWAYS says.....but it's a happy ending:rotfl2: I say MOM- what I do not like- is the beginning- you know, the SAD part!

Most of the time she will START to tell me this horrendous animal story from the news, or her favorite show on Animal Planet when the cops go and and save the animals from abuse:scared1: I yell STOP!!!

I cannot fathom the thought of how the POOR animal GOT into the shape it was in for it to be SAVED! Even though it is a happy ending- the animal abuse SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED! :scared1:

Sure is all peachy keen in the end- but the animal will never forget the abuse.....:sad1:

Sorry- weird moment.......I will snap out of it!:wizard:ooo happy again.....:yay: all better.

.

Hmmmm :scratchin ......I may have *seriously* underestimated your devotion! :scared:

Devotion, obsession, whatever people call it these days.....;) However, he would not need to get the police involved:rotfl2:

My dear, you have *seriously* ONLY scratched the surface!:rotfl2:

You know- I remember posting this pic before for my wench friends- some of them picked that out too- and you know what- I NEVER saw the darn thing!

I zero RIGHT in for the good stuff- never mind the incidentals!:rotfl2:

BTW- I have a major FEAR of clowns, as, I am sure, do a lot of us here!

.................Actually JD has "the fear" too! So we are in good company.

I missed the clown, too. I was too busy looking to see if JD was wearing any pants underneath his robe...

Madd-you remind me of DD. The other night we were watching "Arctic Tale" from National Geographic. It started out with two baby polar bears. They called the girl Nanoo and the boy "little brother". I knew that didn't bode well for "little brother":rotfl2: . Well poor LB did not make it through the movie needless to say and DD just cried and cried.:sad2: I tried to explain how stuff like that happens in nature but she was pitiful.

We actually got some snow the last few days-just 3-4 inches but enough to go out and sled in this morning. We had a blast and took a long walk on the farm. Good thing we went out when we did because it's already melting. Now the wee folk are asleep and mommy is being productive. Hey, I did look online to see if the new Starbuck's opening near my work is open yet. That's productive, isn't it?:confused3

What little Pac Sun dresses are you referring to? Got a link?

Suz- I kept wanting to get to this post- but once JD gets involved- my mind gets all goofy!

I checked the site- and none of the dresses that I saw in the store were on the website! They were just nice and easy to throw on in the summer and still look nice.

Watch, I will go and try them on and want to puke just looking at myself- I told my best friend, I wish I were shaped like a hanger:lmao: Clothes always look good on a hanger:rotfl2:

So needless to say I have no fear of clowns! I actually love them dearly!:clown::love: :clown:

I guess since you grew up with them- that would calm your fears- honestly though- I THINK I was only at one circus in my whole life- And I am just thinking I was- not sure where my fears came from.

I did grow up watching horror movies- maybe something way back then triggered it??

And yes- I have read and watched IT

tim curry as the evil clown. I love him..hated the movie, but love him.

Actually I loved the beginning half of the book, but the ending with the giant spiders was just silly to me. The clown in the sewer...the neighborhood we live in now has those kinds of sewers...

That is why I gave up on Stephen King-- he just got too bizarre in a lot of his stories- Pet Sematary was a pretty cool read.

But you know what- MOST horror books are like that! They just leave you....hanging.....with your mouth open, like, WT???? I wasted all my time on THAT!?

They are the ONLY books I can read though- I NEED to be scared. Nothing will keep my attention while reading- unless I am scared...or, just, waiting to be scared!:scared1:

Can anyone suggest anything that will scare the bejeezus out of me where I will be scared out of my mind to go to bed- and THAT is a hard thing to do- So if your suggestion pans out...I will kiss your feet! I know, sounds enticing doesn't it!?:lmao:

Settle down- line forms to the left:rotfl2:

It cannot be about aliens, vampires or medical weirdness (Robin Cook:sad2: )- it has to be just plain horror- preferably paranormal, but I am open to suggestions.

I remember reading "Tommyknockers" (sp?) I only got half way thru - couldn't read it anymore - had to put it down. But the scariest by far was "The Shinning" I didn't go into our basement alone for years after that...

I haven't read any horror in a long time, or as they say here "in a wicked long time". My DD who is eight has me reading Greek Mythology books to her, that and Eragon (we are on chapter 12...) and we are re-reading the Spiderwick Chronicles for the millionth time. I bought and read these to them years ago and every couple of months or so they drag them out.

Maybe we should start our own little horror book club...and since everything I have read lately is rated G - I need some suggestions too

Oh and if I get really really freaked out - somebody's gotta be on the boards to talk me down DEAL?:lmao:

Sorry I can't help with the scary book suggestions even though I am a fanatical reader. The scariest I ever get is Patricia Cornwell and A) her newer stuff is crap and B) that old stuff scared the youknowwhat out of me!:scared1: I do like "odd" kind of fiction like "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire and "The Stolen Child" by Keith Donohue which was about changelings and was supremely addictive. If you were remotely into vampires, I would suggest Anne Rice. I'm not a huge fan but have read a lot of them. If you're feeling very naughty at any point, pick up "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" by her.:rolleyes1 It's definately NOT Disney approved. Just make sure you have one of "those" certain freebies around.:rolleyes1

Back to the :clown: . What did the baby say in the superbowl commercial? "I seriously underestimated the creepiness"?? Love that line :rotfl: . Although the Shriner clowns sound pretty awesome.
Too bad you're not interested in vampires. There's a ton of scary with them for books. The Witching Hour was good, also Salem's Lot. I have a thing for Mr King's books. I also loved the 1st half of It, but it wasn't the spiders that put me off in the end; it was the girl having to get biblical with all the boys that weirded me. :confused3 Where did that come from?
My DS is really into zombie books- he highly recommends World War Z. He is also 12, so the freakiness level is probably relative...

I can't help ya with the scary stuff. S. King was definitely my thing many years ago, then I fell out of love with him...Needful Things was the last book I read by him, I think..I liked it actually. Then I switched genres and started devouring John Grisham books. I love his style, and now I have almost read all of his books..except the last two. I average about one book a year, in the summer by the pool is the only time I have nothing else to do. Sadly, that is the way I read..nothing else to do.

Ever read Dean Koontz - I haven't read one of his books in years but I remember them as one of the scarier ones I have read. I am a total baby and cannot do the whole slasher flick, horror movie thing so stay away from those books but I do love me a good mystery - James Patterson, JD Robb, Tami Hoag, Iris Johansen. As for Steven King, I started to read 1 book and was bored by all his descriptions. His books wouldn't be 1/2 bad if you got rid of 1/2 of it.

Yes- I have read Dean Koontz- he is not as bad as Stephen- but when you go to the horror section of the book store- all you see is Koontz and King!:sad2:

Are there any other writers out there with a mind for horror for Pete's sake!

Why would I ask that- no one can even come up with a good horror movie anymore either- :sad2: I thought -parts- of The Ring were good- I liked the effects with Samara coming out of the well and out of the TV- they were creepy- but you do not get much of it in the movies they label as "horror" anymore

I NEED TO BE SCARED GOSH DARNIT!

AND NOW!

And that darn Fearnet channel on cable is a stinking JOKE! It's child's play:lmao:

Let's just say I am looking along the lines of The Exorcist!:thumbsup2

So how are all my freaps doings this fine morning- Some of you may have snow, right? Of course, not us here in NJ.

Kellie and Suz how are you both feeling???

I went for PT this morning- it was not bad- of course, b/c it was the first time- I got a little massage- a nice heat pack on my back for 10 minutes and then did some very kight stretching for my leg and back and a few easy ab exercises- I am certain it will not be a walk in the park as time goes on, but today was not bad.

The PT'ist told me my leg was SO tight from the last 3 weeks- I am sure she will see to is that that does not go on too long

whooooopppppp- PA!

Oh, good! I am glad PT was a positive experience for you. I had my first appointment yesterday and it was similar to yours. My left leg has shrunk up a little compared to the right one. There were lots of calf stretching exercises. I have to do some leg flexing exercises at home. I can see a lot of walking in my future....when it gets warmer and the snow melts away.

Kellie, I hope you are feeling better!

Is that flu working its way out of everybody's houses? :goodvibes

WOW after one PT session, the swelling in my knee has gone down noticeably! My knee cap is starting to emerge! :rotfl:
