FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

Ok, so the DR's office finally authorized a refill on DH's script. Walgreen's called at about 8:00 to say it was ready. I went to pick it up, brought it in to DH and said this..."Oh, look...the Dr's office put a message on this ...they must have faxed it over to Walgreen's. It says, 'Dr. Mr B...Please don't be so stupid this time..' "....:rotfl: Even DH had to laugh at that one..then he reminds me that the meds had been making him sick....AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Why didn't you tell me to ask for a different one??? I tell ya, I'm gonna have to hurt him one of these days..

I say you slap him now and then when he feels better hurt him:rotfl2:

Madd,
I hope hubby is feeling better for your trip. Make sure he is drinking plenty of fluids.I make John drink gator adie when he is sick. If he is taking his meds like the dr wrote them for (unlike some Husbands we know:lmao: ) he should feel better for saturday.

I agree with all of but leaving the toilet seat up:lmao:
Thanks for all the love and support. The DR called and We will meet with the surgoen on Monday morning. I did talk to the surgeon and he said that things have come a long way in 15 years so I should have faith. He sounds like a nice guy. He talked to me like a human and not just some patiant. Now if he is hot I am good to go:rotfl2:

That's good news..of course things have changed in 15 years, in medicine that is is like a century! Hopefully this will be the cure for you! Fingers crossed, hugs and kisses sent, good thoughts, and prayers...

Sorry to hear about your cold. I think we are all passing this thing around on the DisBoards somehow!! I cannot completely 100% shake mine, I still have sinus pressure headache, but no drainage or coughing. Maybe they will let you have your surgery as long as you do not have an infection or fever. I dunno, I'm no DR, what am I talking about??

Hope you don't get snowed in for your surgery, that would be bummer!! Our winter has been pretty mild, too. It has gone down to freezing a couple of nights, but most days I can run around with just a polar fleece jacket on. Of course, with the usual clothing underneath..
I might be because we are all touching a mouse!? :confused3 We clearly aren't washing our hands enough! :goodvibes

I called first thing this morning and asked about what I should do and they said they would probably still operate unless I had a fever (you were right) so to come on in for the pre-op instructions.

I met with a PA. He also wanted me to go ahead with the surgery until I explained to him how sick DH had been and he eventually had a fever and chills and it started exactly like this. Then, he decided I should put the surgery off for a week to get healthier. He went to check on the schedule and I could not get scheduled again for 2 weeks so now I am having the surgery on the 18th. - sigh -

I told him I did not want to put it off very long because I am experiencing considerable pain and he said I should be. He said he had seen my MRI and it is a substantial tear. :scared1: What!? The doctor said it was a small tear and easy to repair. The PA also said it will be easy to repair but it is "substantial". - sigh -

The PA said I will only be under for about 15 minutes and it really helps to be out for this one. He said there are nerves on each side of the knee that don't always go 'out' well enough with a local and they need to handle the knee in such a way (during the procedure) that might not be comfortable for me. So, out I will go....

He told me they take pictures of the inside of the knee and put one copy in the patient file and give one copy to the patient. I think that is cool! I think I will donate my copy to one of the classes at the high school. Who else would like to see the inside of a damaged knee besides a bunch of high school kids? :rotfl:

We were supposed to have a 'storm' move in last night that would last all day today. A wind came up during the night and it just moved a little snow around. The temp today is about 31 (the warmest it has been in a couple of weeks) and the roads are melting down to pavement. A weird, weird winter for us....but I can't complain.

Ok, you already know this, but take a good, long, stare at him as you drift off to sleep and then ask if you made any funny noises while you were out! hehe

What!? What's wrong....?? hehe

Sorry you have to wait for them to fix your knee mtbluejeans. But if you are knocked out and are starting to get sick like hubby it will only get worse. I think when they knock you your amune system take the nap with you and you get sick easy.
So on a bright side I would blame DH if I was you:lmao: But I am like that

you guys just keep me laughing. Dh sits in his chair and shakes his head when I laugh out loud.

I agree with you about being put out for a procedure....I know over my lifetime, the procedures I have had done, it has been proven each and every time.

'Ya know, I also had decided that my sliding health seems to keep coming back to DH! :scratchin Then, in my wisdom, I thought that seems to be happening to a few of us! :rolleyes1

I wish we all lived closer to each other....I could see a girls night out in our futures! :thumbsup2

MTB -

Bummer about your surgery. I will ask DH about recovery time and such. The only thing I remember was being totally p*ssed off with him. DS was only a few months old and nursing around the clock. I wasn't sleeping and we had no help.

And there was DH sitting on the couch with his leg up asking for me to make him some tea. I remember totally wigging out on him (can you say post-partum:rolleyes1 ) I was yelling "Gee, I wished I had had knee surgery, then *I* could have sat on the couch all day getting served hand and foot!!! Instead I only had a 36 hour labour, c-section, and a constantly nursing baby!!!!!"

Poor DH he never asked for anything else...probably regretted asking for that cup of tea BIG TIME...

A girls night out would be good.
I had flowers dropped at the house a couple of minutes ago. I thought they where from DH but they where from my godson. He put on the card just think of you lots of love. Now mind you he is 21 and has no idea what is up.

Thanks for your good wishes, guys! I would really appreciate hearing from someone else who has gone thru this. :goodvibes

My DH did something similar to that to me. With our last baby boy (a month old), the only baby I had c-section, DH had a kidney stone attack in the middle of the night and I had to rush him to the emergency room because neither one of knew anything about kidney stones or what was wrong with DH.

They hooked him up to a morphine drip and the 2 female nurses kept coming in to see if DH wanted anything....anything at all. I was standing there fuming, wondering how long this was going to take, thinking that I hoped I could make it back home before the baby needed to be nursed again because I had not introduced him to a bottle yet and I wasn't sure he would take a bottle nipple. I must have looked impatient because one of the nurses told me that DH was in "real pain" and that passing a kidney stone was "the equivalent of having a bably for a man"....and, with that, I completely lost it in the emergency room!

I said, probably loud enough for everyone in the ER to hear: Pleeeeeaase! When you can pass an 8 pound bowling ball through that little hole, then we can talk pain for a man, alright!??

After that, the nurse asked DH if he would like anything else AND if he would like me to wait outside. He said no and she left. I then informed him that, had he had me removed from his room, I would have left the hospital and he could find his own way home.

He still likes to bring that up.....the pain is the same as having a baby for a man.....when he wants to get me goin'! :rotfl2:

Oh, yeah, I could use some drinkin' buddies that have the same point of view that I do! ;)

Awww...that's so sweet! What a nice boy!!

I say we try to find a way to get a girls night out.

mt you stay calm for I would have had to leave DH there because I would have been put in jail for slapping the sh-- out of the nurse.

OMG - the only thing equivalent to having a baby is...HAVING A BABY!!!

Randy doesn't even like to talk about "the tea incident"

I feel a FREAP meet in our future...
