FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

No flames from me on the pets. We have a cat that DH says I love more than him. But I tell him that the cat is better trained than him. I would be lost with out my baby. Right now him and DH are sleeping in the chair. If I knew how to post a photo of Gato I would.
I am sorry for your loss Maggie
Tink I will keep happy thoughts for for you

Madd,

Yeah, I'm OK just a HUGE bruise on my bo*b from the seat belt and I was totally shaken up. It was so surreal being on 93 in the middle of rush hour with the dog in a laundry basket wrapped up in towels with IV catheter hanging off of him - he was so out of it, his tongue was hanging out and he was moaning.

The state trooper came up to me and was a mess I explained that I had NEVER had a car accident (he seemed to find that hard to believe "You've lived here for 18 years and you've never had an accident?") He asked me where I was going and he found that hard to believe, until I showed him Flint in the basket...

I call my DH and say - "Hey I just got into a 3 car accident on 93 and I have Flint in the laundry basket..." The dude in the car in front of me was LIVID. It was "What the F*** this, and motherf***ing that" Lots of gesturing and flalling about. I decided to stay *in* the car. I mean it that really necessary - is it going to help the situation? Does he think I wanted this to happen? Glad the kids weren't with me. My DS thinksthat the "S" word (rhymes with sit) is a major swear (I thought he was going to have a heart attack when the said the "S" word in Akkeela and the Bee - he started running around saying 'that's why it's rated PG13!!!':lmao:0
Eeekkk. Gotta love Boston drivers;)

And now for an explanation of my leave... short and sweet :) Someone decided to light our property on fire from the highway right after the puter went down. We lost all of our land and both barns, but the house is OK. And Wes and I are ok which is the major miracle because we were asleep when it happened and a highway patrolman was driving by and came and pulled us out of the house. Anyhoo- dealing with that and Christmas... it has been nuts. I really think it is sweet you guys missed me to :) I feel very loved :)

Glad to hear you were not seriously hurt! Even if you were, the first thing you wanted to do was get Flint to the vet- poor baby!

I am sorry- But when I read he was in a laundry basket- I laughed in my head! I am sorry- I am one of those people that laugh at the wrong time:rolleyes1

Waht a jerk the driver was- sounds like the same jerks here in Jersey! No different.

Now if you were down South- the guy would have held your head and asked if "you were alright ma'am":lmao: up North- you don't find that too often!:rotfl: You are on your own!

Glad you are back!

I can't believe how BIG Wes is getting! The pics are adorable!

OMG you HAVE to laugh...Thats what I mean by SURREAL. My dog is half dead in a laundry basket and I get into an accident. I mean you couldn't write this stuff any weirder...

As for the jerk, I'm Canadian and if you get into an accident up there we just automatically apologize, assumed that it is our fault, and hug each other:rotfl: I mean jeepers we are so polite. My sister always freaks out when she comes to visit and I go thru a yellow lite. In Ottawa, when a lite turn yellow, you slow down. Here, I have her look behind me after I go through the yellow and count the number of cars. Once she got up to 7. I explained that if I slowed down and stopped I would cause a multi car accident:lmao:

TINKER - Wes is sooo handsome and growing up so fast. I can't believe what happen to you - that's terrible, thank goodness you are OK. It must have been so scary.

TinkerBean- your pug is SO cute!! He lives the life, I tell ya! Im so glad you are alright. I have a little road rage with crazy drivers (the horn is my best friend). You seemed to handle it all quite well. Keep us updated on your dog!

Cassi- Wes is adorable as always. I know what its like to have things catch on fire (my current house has done it twice, remember?). I hope it didnt completely distroy everything. I also hope insurance has pulled through for you. I know first hand that they can be real jerks! I'll be so glad once our new house is finished and we can move on!!

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes my cat that I had to put down. We burried her at our new house where I plan on planting a tree in her memory.
She was such a good cat!

My two dogs must have scensed something was going on because ever since we put her down they havent looked for her. And that used to be their favorite thing to do "find and torture the cat. She looks just like an opposum"

I have no heard anything from Tinkerbean either!:confused3 But I think Rachel, aka Tinker girl- if I am not mistaken, is talking about TINKER- as in "mom of lil' Wesley"!

Either way, Hey- where the heck are BOTH of those girls!?

And I think all of these Tinker names are confusing me!:rotfl2:

"where has Tinker been?"
"where is TinkerBean?"

I'm confused now, too!!

Hey everybody...

Sorry I've been MIA. I've been dealing with a doggie situation here that would make my budget friends kringe...

Last thursday, my 12 yrs old yorkie, Flint, managed to get a fully cooked chicken off of the counter and went to town. He had to have emergency surgery on Friday to remove a large chicken bone in his stomach and then he developed severe pancreatitis. While I was transfering him from the animal hospital who did the surgery to the hospital who was going to deal with the pancreatitis (he needed round the clock ICU care) I got into an accident on 93 north during rush hour (for those of you not familiar with Boston 93 is the expressway that goes right through Boston and is EXTREMELY busy from 3 to 7 every night).

Long story short, he is still at the hospital, he has been able to eat or drink. He has been on IV nutrition and fluids. He is alert, chipper and I have taken he for walks and he barks at the big dogs like he is bigger than them. He has maintained his weight but won't eat and is still throwing up every 5-6 hours. Pancreatitis is very frustrating because you simply don't know how long it will take to "get him over the hump".

We are now at $$$ (I originally had the amount there but I don't want/need to get flamed over this now-I know that my freap friends would never do this) in vet bills and we have to make a decision. I have been crying all day.

But, I just got off of the phone with my friend (who I've been friends with for 18 years - she has been a Vet for 3 years now and is his Vet) we are going to take him home tomorrow and I will try to get him to take food and will give him sub q fluids. At this point it's either that or put him down, and I just can't put him down. If he were miserable, and wasting away - no issues there - I would do it. I have had to make that decision 3 times already with 3 cats that were 13, 15 and 18 yrs old and I knew that that was what needed to be done. But he is in good spirits and spunky as ever...

Here is a picture of my little guy...
So that is why I have been missing. But I suspect that I will be on the couch with him at all hours of the day and night so I will be checking in often

No flames from anyone here, I'm sure. We get our freebies and do the Budget board stuff so we can spend our money on important things like this little guy, who is absolutely adorable.

We have been going through doggie crises, too. On New Years Eve, I thought I was taking my Stella in to be put down..thought she had a stroke..couldn't walk. The vet gave me meds for ear infection, and now she is on thyroid meds. She still is a little wobbly, but she is now eating and can walk outside to go potty. So we are doing that "watch", too. She is 10, pretty old for a dog her size.

Sending some Mary Poppins cheer your way(s):grouphug: :wizard: for 2008. I hope you all keep on posting the good (sorry-I am a bit of a Polyanna, although I can be sarcastic as **** when necessary)

Completely aside. . . .I got accepted for the lipstick jungle house party. . .now what the heck do I do?

Hey there FREAPS! Okay- I admit I have been a bad Freap as of late... but am trying to catch up and get back in the game. My mail box has been so so lonely! I really miss you guys and feel like I have been away from my family!

Welcome back!!! :)

Holy Crap!!!

That's awful, but I'm really glad that everyone's okay

Hey y'all, I've been over at the CB and getting into trouble. Those people over there....when will I learn? Anyway I posted something on a fun thread, and I got a really snotty PM from someone with a complex who thought I was talking about her. I wrote back and said I had no idea who she was, and would have to go back to the thread to see what the heck she was talking about. I did, she was not my thought when I made my post. Question...have you ever seen someone copy and paste a PM they received so the whole Dis could see what a jerk the other person is? I am tempted, but probably won't. Wondered if there was a rule about this? Seems to me if you are gonna PM a nasty note to someone, they have the right to do what they want with it...
