All you people in/visiting Montana--Do y'all realize that is the most beautiful place on earth? Glacier Park/Disney--could alternate the year between those two places and be one happy camper!
I love Glacier Park. Unfortunately, we never get the time to get there any more! It really helps to be familiar with it and we have our favorite spots.
Is it true that you can carry a gun on your person in Montana?
About 15 years ago I had a friend who told me that- I thought that was kind of cool, not cool as in, drive by shooting cool, just being able to carry a gun that you own leagally- I guess that would reduce crime dramatically, who wants to take the chance on robbing someone who may be "packing heat"
Yes, you can carry a gun or have one in your vehicle but they have to be out in plain sight. Otherwise, you need a concealed weapon permit. I have seen people wear a gun on a holster in the fast food restaurants and, of course, the police and sheriff officers eat out in the public places with their weapons on. People who have lived here a while are used to it, I guess. However, there is also a more severe punishment law that makes any crime committed with a gun more punishable. I think it automatically adds more jail time to your sentence if you are convicted.
No problems with the truck at all...except it is REALLY big...long bed, extended cab, Heavy duty-350 engine. So the back end wanted to go it's own way a couple of times when the roads were icy. We are driving it to WDW, his idea, so HE will be doing the driving this time (I usually do it ) cuz I ain't drivin' that big ole rig...no sireeee...And the big bed means I don't have to be crazy about what NOT to pack...I can take it all......
Reasonable and Prudent cracks me up...definitely leaves a lot open to interpretation...I hope you guys have a great weekend in Billings. Congrats to DS for his award!!
I would love to see a picture of this truck! Hope you have a safe drive to and from WDW! I cant imagine being close enough to drive whenever we want to head down that way!
I think reasonable and prudent really only works around here when you know the roads you are traveling pretty well. The road north and south, between Kalispell and Missoula, is a bad one, especially between the lake and Kalispell. I have been around here for more than 20 years, tho, so I feel I know that road well.
We did have a good trip to Billings. The roads were good and the weather held out for us. This is the warmest winter I think I have ever experienced in Montana!
My DS and I woke up to colds on Friday morning. We both had a bad sore throat, runny nose, and pretty irritable. By Saturday, we were both feeling worse but the breakfast/award ceremony went well and it only lasted about an hour and a half. After that, we packed up and did some shopping. The growth and traffic in Billings are ridiculous
when you are used to a small town area like we are. We got out of Billings earlier than we had planned. We had to stop and pick up DSs car in Bozeman and DHs car in Helena. Then, we all 3 caravaned our way back home.
On Monday, DH and I went in to get some shots for our trip next month. I told the nurse I had a cold and I asked if that would affect my shot and she said no. I got the first of a HEP B. Between that and the cold, I have not been feeling so great all this week. We should have gotten the shots months ago but, with everything else going on, and the planning of the trip, we both forgot about it. ARG!
TinkerBean, I hope your DH is feeling much better now that a few days have passed since his surgery. I hate having to go to the hospital for anything
even if it is for my own good.
