FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

I am paranoid about wearing a helmet on a motorcycle. My ex-DH and I dated thru high school and our first transportation was his motorcycle. We lived in southern california and the traffic was bad even back then. He had been hit several times and we got hit by a sports car once while I was on the back. After that, I will not get on a bike without a helmet. It makes me shake to even think about getting on that back seat with a bare head! :rotfl:

DH and I have talked about getting a bike and traveling around the states when we retire. The way people drive today, it just doesn't appeal to me. I might change my mind later when the kids are all in college and there is just him and me.....we'll see. ;)

Hey Freaps!

Just saw some chatting about the FREAP chat thread which was one of the best ideas ever! :goodvibes I love to chat with all my fellow Freaps but when I'm at work sometimes I have to zoom-in and zoom-out:car: of the Freebie Thread.
It sounds like WE have a on-going plan in place - Cool!:thumbsup2

So now to chatting.....I had posted about if you order online from Origins or go into the store you get 5 samples. I stopped at Macy's on Friday which has an Origins counter and the consultant briefly explained the 10 products than gave me 5 samples. No hard-selling at all and only took about 10 minutes.

One day we were @ my MILs house with the bike and she asked if I had a seatbelt to wear!!:lmao:

When I am NOT on the bike, I always think how dangerous it is riding the bike-- pretty much most of the drivers out there are brain dead! Just taking the safety course and riding a bike, I think, makes you a better (car) driver.

BUT- when I am ON the bike- those thoughts just disappear and I feel more comfortable......go figure:confused3

OMG! I filled out the form for the "adult" freebie (plus shipping) last week and I got it in the mail on Saturday! Now that came fast:rolleyes1 ;)

Yeah, that makes sense. You are enjoying the ride! ;)

I ALWAYS say that riding the bike is like having a Xanax on wheels! I LOVE the feeling! It can make you forget about ALL of your problems!

I feel so lucky when I am riding!

We have helmet laws in NJ....gotta wear them. Delaware and PA do not. But when we are there- we still keep ours on. Even when we rode in FL we kept our helmets on.

A few times I have seen NJ riders stopping at the DE border and taking their helmets off.

I would like to get one of the "cereal bowl" helmets b/c they look cool, but I know deep down- why bother, I know it would not help me like a DOT helmet would.

My DH calls those "brain buckets". I prefer a full face helmet, myself..I feel vulnerable enough out there with no metal wrapped around my body...I'm glad you wear yours all the time.

cont. from last night....had to go put kiddies to bed...and put myself to bed!

We do not have a helmet law in Florida, and honestly we do not wear helmets....but my hubby has been riding bikes longer than he has been driving a car, I trust him completely and I'm a great passenger as well. I know someone could hit us, but the freedom of no helmet is a great feeling to me. We do have helmets for other states though because we like to travel. We go everywhere from Key West to the Smoky Mountains, so I do have a regular helmet, not just a skull cap, but I hate to put it on! I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW I should wear it anyway, but.....

It's not your hubby you have to worry about trusting, it's those doggone motorists. I swear sometimes they seem to "aim" for bikers.. OK, enough of my lecture....(please wear your helmet, please, please, please...

Sorry, it's the mommy in me.....

WARNING!! Do NOT wash your Chadwicks Jacket!! I got the free Jacket in the mail on Saturday. I have this thing about wearing clothes before they are washed, etc. I read the cleaning label and it said
machine wash warm
gentle cycle
wash dark colors seperately
do not bleach
tumble dry low
low iron

So i put it in the washing machine, gentle cycle... and this is how it came out.

I didn't even get the opportunity to wear it once!

Im not that happy because i paid for an ugly shirt just to get it-- and i dont like the shirt (you cant expect much for 1.99-- but it was $7 with shipping )-- and then my jacket falls apart:scared1:

ETA: It never did see the dryer-- there was no need at that point.

I'm on the phone with customer service-- lol i wouldn't call but the shirt i ordered was pretty crappy and i only ordered it so i could get the jacket. The jacket isn't much of a loss but oh well.

They are sending me a new jacket and a return label for this one. So that's nice. LoL i hope they enjoy the useless jacket. Ill know better next time.

ETA: She said the jacket may be expired so i may end up with something else. Oh well- better than nothing, I guess.

Hello fellow Freeps!

I am back after a long hiatus. My sister, who has been battling brain cancer since January, passed away at the beginning of August. She has 2 teenage daughters that my family and I have been trying to help through their grief while trying to manage our own.

I posted my first freebie today since she passed. I feel like I need to try and get back to normal things in life. Besides, some of the comments have been pretty funny over there lately.

I talked about her cancer a little bit on the Freebie Thread and many of you made such supportive comments. Thank you.

I also meant to ask if anyone had gotten the toothbrushes yet from the Colgate offer? Where your child brushes does their chores and earned stars to receive the toothrbrush(s)?

i was wondering the same thing. I have two that should be coming and still nothing

JenniferAtl, I am so sorry for your loss! Hopefully, we can cheer you up around here even if it is just a little. When you are ready, catch up on your PMs and get that bouncy pumpkin going for 'ya.

I am not going to acknowledge ordering the adult toys if someone is going to take names! :snooty:

All the talk about motorcycles this morning got me thinking about my ex and our adventures when we were teens. I had to go into town to have the oil changed on my car and I was remembering skipping school and going to the beach on his bike all those years ago. He had a sissy bar on the back and I used to lean back on it and tilt my head back so my face was getting the sun....even with a helmet on. I must have looked weird to the other drivers but riding on the back of that bike always made me feel like I was flying! :cloud9:

Maggimus, I am surprised to see what a gentle washing did to your jacket! I am glad you got some response from their customer service....I wonder how many of those jackets they will be getting back? :scared:

I'm sorry, but ANY reference to the adult toys goes into my report....

.....I just like my little note taker...;)

I actually found a free subscription to Penthouse, but I was afraid if I posted it, the mods would get me...
