Had a breast biopsy in January 2008. It turned out the be a benign tumour, so I had a lumpectomy and that was the end of it.
The biopsy itself was really not bad at all. I had no sedation, but once the local anesthetic started, I didn't feel anything (had the normal "burning" with the injection). I was told to avoid lifting anything over 5 pounds for a day or two, but went back to work after the biopsy. Had the biopsy on a Thursday morning was doing my normal exercise stuff by Sunday (probably would have been okay Saturday, but a snow storm prevent my run).
My worst part was that I ended up reacting to the bandage they stuck on (clear, entirely sticky and about 3 inches by 3 inches). Taking that off, was not fun!
I understand how little fun waiting can be! I had my ultrasound on 17 December (lump was found on MRI), but because it was so close to Christmas, I couldn't get the biopsy until after New Years.
Hope it all goes well for you.
