Fraudulent CC charges after returning?

First let me say we (family and 2 friends) had a wonderful time at Pop Century. The resort was better than I expected (the food court is tremendous) and our view overlooking the lake was grand.

But then 2 weeks after we returned we found out our credit card was used to purchase something from a website called We-Smoke-It, an online cigarette shop (based in Europe as far as I can tell).

I didnt think there was a Disney connection until the couple that had the room next to us also had a charge on their credit card to the same place, and not just that but almost $300 in charges from Pop Century dated 2 weeks after we returned. They checked all of their receipts and are positive this Pop Century charge is fraudulent.
The credit card companies are of no help. I had to cancel my card.

So... I am asking all you good people if you had any unusual charges to your credit card after staying at Disney or going to one of their parks.
It just seems too coincidental that we both had this happen to us.

Other than that, we can't wait to go back next year.

I've always just put my card on my KTTK card with the frot desk.

Then I just use my room key for ALL charging this way only one person touches my card and it should never leave there hands at the front desk.So you have a paper trail of who had your card.

I know that 99.9% of CM's are most likely honest people but with the price they pay to get card info now a days it's only a matter of time before one starts doing the deeds of criminals. It's just to tempting for some and they see no harm at the time.

I'm more concerned of the CC not backing you up .These are things that can easily be checked did they have a Sig. or impression of the card or if it was an internet order where was it shipped to.

We had an issue but not quite as bad. We always link our CC with our room keys also and then we pay the balance with Travelers checks when we check out. Several years ago we stayed at the Poly and did as we usually would and paid the balance with traverlers checks and went home. Well the next month there was a charge on our bill from the Poly for the balance we had already paid. I checked out receipt and it didn't state that we had paid by travelers checks. I called the Poly and they said I had to have copies of the travelers checks to prove it. So I called American Express and they wanted to charge me for the copies. I called the Poly and the manager made arrangements to pay for those charges. It was an honest mistake and it all worked out in the end but it certainly was a huge headache for a few weeks. I always double check my receipt now when we check out.

Yes, for the most part we charged everything using the room card.
The only exceptions were restaurants/drinks at the parks.
We are never rude are also generous tippers, so it's not a case of a waiter/waitress getting some kind of revenge.

My credit card company (Chase) said the charge was valid because the security code was used and the only option they gave me was to cancel the card.
