With my recent problems with internet transactions, especially Paypal
, I've been more conscious of internet scams. The other day I was perusing Ebay for an upcoming trip and was amazed by the sheer number of obvious scams. I'm troubled by seeing these in a marketplace such as Ebay. I know Ebay doesn't have a legal responsibility to remove these types of auctions, but how about a moral responsibility.
Anyway, below is a website that describes in detail the different types of scams that occur. Please use it to educate yourselves! It is amazing how many people fall for these scams. Especially the Nigerian scams. However, many times it is because trusted institutions, such as banks, unwittingly help the scam along through their inapptitude. Like in the case of cashing fake cashier's checks. Oh well, enough venting about the criminals of this world, TGIF!
