Francis Flute!!

Les,

I appreciate the wish that I was back in Fantasmic. It was a swell time. Thanks for wanting to get me back in there. I think you'll need a million of the Fairy Godmother's magic wands to make THAT happen, though!

I don't think I mentioned it to you yet (maybe I have...I tend to forget things!) But, I am writing a one-person show right now starring (who else?) ME. I am gonna take it on the road soon. I hope that you'll have the chance to see it one it is up and running. I figure if "Hollywood" doesn't want me in the Fantasmic theater, I'll step out on my own! I have already written the opening song and lots of ideas for funny stories to tell.

See you on your next visit!

Best,

Francis Floot

Dear Friends and "Flooties,"

As we all know, "Hollywood" is a fickle broad. As much fun as I have had pounding the streets trying to get famous, it seems that the Bigwigs in town have decided that, for a couple of months, anyway, I must take a trip abroad to film a movie! I finally received my big break! I look forward to the opportunity but will miss Hollywood while I am away.

In my place you will meet my good friend Warren Bundersniffle. He is the Hollywood Cameraman on the NEW "In The Can" film crew...and he looks almost EXACTLY LIKE ME! You might even make the mistake of thinking that Warren IS me. (As much as I LIKE Warren, I would like to think that I am much better lookin' than he is!) Some people think that we are brothers, but, as far as I know...we are not.

So, although I learned this news just today, I wanted to share it with all of my friends who are planning on coming to Hollywood to seek me out in the next few months. If you DO come between now and, say, June, LOOK FOR WARREN. He will definitely be expecting you. I promise you that if you know Francis, you will know Warren, too!

I am just hoping that you will like him as much as you like me!

I'll be back soon! In the meantime, my website will be up soon and I can keep in touch with you that way! Feel free to email me anytime that you please. I'll do my very best to respond to each and every one.

Best,

Francis Floot

Dear Lesley,

I am not quite certain that I am gettin' what yer question is, doll. Is it whether you can come up and say hello to me in Hollywood, or is it: how is it that Francis is on the internet?

Forgive me, but, things run a bit slower where I am from! :)

Best,

Francis Floot

Hey Francis,

Lesley's partner here - Just thought I'd explain our debate. What I said was that it would be cool to come up to you in Hollywood and say "Hi, I'm Les from the Dis" etc but she thinks that because when you are out in public in MGM you are always in character so you couldn't know what the Dis was cos theoretically it's "in the future" and not in the 40's when you are meant to be from :confused3

I'm just as confused as you but she get's swept away with the whole thing to the point where she needs to have a lie down - but honest she's not a stalker :hyper: :hyper:

P.S - I'm trying to work out how to get a copy of you warming up the crowd sent over to you - I'll try and and burn it onto a DVD so you can watch it on your gramaphone or something similar

Dear Lesley's Partner,

Hi! NOW I understand what you are gettin' at! CLEARLY, the "DIS" is a section in the Hollywood Gazette where my friends and fans go to communicate with me when they are out of town! I read the letters they send in to the paper and then I respond to them there as well...as any good-hearted movie star should do! Feel free to tell me we spoke through the "DIS," I'll know which newspaper you are referring to!

And thanks for making an effort to send me a copy of that swell commercial I did for the Fantasmic show! It would be the bees kness to see myself in action again! That was the swellest gig ever!

Best,

Francis Floot

Hi Francis!

Love your shows, hope to see you in our upcoming trips!

We loved the Fantasmic pre-show (some years back), where the public works employee came out and "splained" how he built the Fantasmic amphitheater;)
Would that have been you?
It was great! We've got most of the performance on tape, including the camera flash wave through the sections of the amphitheater (very cool!)

Thanks for making our vacations that much more entertaining,

-Mark

Mark,

That sure was me! I am thrilled that you remembered me from all those years ago! I miss those times in the Fantasmic theater. ESPECIALLY the "flash wave." That was always the BEST way to end my day in Hollywood. What a thirll that was!

Thanks for the kind words.

Best,

Hi all,
Here's a pic of the great Francis Floot entertaining us at the Fantasmic preshow back in March of '99.
We all just participated in the "very first" camera flash wave!

What a show! Thanks again, Francis:)

This is all too funny. I think the most memorable moment on our last trip in Dec was the one and only Francis Floot!!! My daughter absolutely loved you and you responded well to the crowd.

Are you there everyday....when is best to catch you on the Blvd?

Our next trip is Oct 06

Dear Mark,

Wow! What a blast from the past to see myself there in the Fantasmic theater again! SEVEN years ago already! I can hardly believe that. It was a fantastic time for me. I am honored that you enjoyed it enough to keep the video all this time. Very kind of you.

THANK YOU for sharing that with me.

Best,

Francis Floot

I must agree that one of our favorite things from our last trip in Oct. was seeing your Wizard of Oz performance for your mama (over the phone). DH and I loved the "swish swish swoop" of the wand. I am an elementary school drama teacher and I actually told that story to some of my students just last week. I didn't know the name was Francis Floot until people started describing you on here. By the way - I love the Shakespeare reference in the name - anyone else get it? :)

Oh gosh, since it was such a long time ago that we last saw Fantasmic, there are only few things I remember from the show and a good part of my memory is watching exactly what that picture represents! It is rather incredible to see what I have always held tight in my mind after all these years. I remember at one point the audience had a wave going on (first time I had ever experienced such a thing) and I cried from laughter as I watched the wave form throughout the theater. It is people like you, Francis Floot, that create such everlasting and magical memories of Walt Disney World. It really is fairytale, not written, but lived!
