FP + What we know and what we want to know

OK, a couple thoughts. My husband (for being a Disney novice really ) seems to have pretty good thoughts on this. We talked about it at dinner again, and he had what I consider to be 2 very good thoughts.

1) Will EMH be the "go-to" time for standby riding? Can we assume they won't have people scheduled with FP returns during EMH?

2) Hard ticket parties could be the best overall bet for ride access. I could see going to Disney during the fall/winter (party season, which is when we go anyway) and just buying a couple days of regular park tickets, but doing several hard ticket parties for all of my MK access.

Another thought with FP+, is that people will be "forced" to purchase their tickets at least 2 months earlier than they might usually to access FP+. We always purchase our AP upon arrival, however now we would have to purchase it 2-3 months earlier to be able to make ride reservations.

Obviously Disney was still going to get their money eventually. However by purchasing the ticket months in advance people would be more "committed" to coming

And Disney got your money earlier.

Disney wants full price tickets purchased through them to be the majority of ticket sales. Guests hwo buy discounted tickets of any manner are giving up the perk.

That doesn't seem accurate. What is believed is that FP+ is for all and that all these people would need to do is enter their ticket number into their profile.

I see this as being the best reason to justify park hoppers. Start in the park with AM EMH, then hop somewhere else where you have FP+ scheduled late morning into the afternoon.

Well, if resort reservations are not being used for any basis to make FP+ reservations, then they won't know if you can attend the EMH anyways...

I was going to say it would increase your odds of missing a price increase, but I'm sure Disney will be all over that and just announce them 2 months sooner........

That would be a good idea. We hop all the time during our trips. The first day in each park we spend the entire day. After that, we do half days or a day in one park, the night in another.

So true! And I can't see them opening time slots during EMH without an absolute tie to a resort reservation or it would just be chaos. So I bet they won't be doing FP+ until regular park opening.

How does the EVP saying "We are going to let the guests select up to three..." not directly confirm it?

Because that's the very things that they've said from the beginning. Each guest can elect three FPs up to 60 days in advance to get started.

UT's tickets have the barcode.

If you want proof the barcode is the key, go to your profile, click edit, and add credential.. then do an AP. It's by Barcode now, not the old AP specific identifiers. Barcodes are on all tickets.

I don't need to see that the site takes barcodes...all it really says is that the site will take ticket credentials. It doesn't say for what yet

And by the way, I don't see anywhere to "add credential". But I also already have an AP associated with my account - which was entered using the standard ticket codes. But it was entered through the Passholder page, and the day before they changed it

I'm saying that the hard limit of three FPs hasn't been confirmed. In fact, the suggestion that there could be 'surprise' FPs in addition to these tends to rule out a hard limit. Further, the fact that they've stated that three could be preselected does not rule out that more could possibly be later selected.

A hard limit of three could indeed happen and it might be possible that no same day FPs at offered. We do not know that to be the case, however.

You are correct. There is no "hard limit" overall as Disney can choose to offer more though some fashion. However, if the numbers, etc. are to be believed, there isn't likely to be any headliners available at all if/when the system is fully utilized.

However, given what _was_ said, there is no guarantee of there being more, so we have to work with the three we know about.

Too good. Reelmom either has some sort of special rate available or is confused. Only the 3 "on-site" hotels, the Portofino, Hard Rock and Royal Pacific, get the unlimited express pass. Even with the extended stay 30% discount and low season rates those hotels start at well over $200 a night. They have less expensive "Universal Partner Hotels" that are close by but these do not get unlimited express.

Yes, i have the AP rate. You do have to pay for parking every night if you have a car. It is $18.00/night. Even if you add that in, it is still a good deal for what you are getting. You get unlimited express pass, one hour early entry into Wizarding World of Harry Potter, walking distance to the parks or the water taxi, plus pool hopping at the three resorts. Only one person needs to have an AP to book the room. You don't need it in advance to book, just show it when checkin in. You can call and check the AP rate or go to the website. On the website, after you enter your dates, click Promotion, then APH for the code. It will bring those up if they are available. The rates do not include parking so you would need to figure that in. We are staying at the Royal Pacific. It is usually the cheapest but sometimes not.
