FP + What we know and what we want to know

The too things that are the biggest speculation in this thread are not living up to hype. Go figure

I still don't get why you keep insisting that the 3 FP+ limit and 1 E-ticket are the "biggest speculation". The former has been absolutely confirmed by the Executive Vice President of Next Generation Technology. It is not in dispute. It could change, but it is a known quantity right now.

The 1 E-ticket? Sure, its a tad more speculative, but it is based on EVERY TEST CONDUCTED SO FAR, which has tiered the attractions.

There is no sense in tiering the attractions if you are going to allow all the choices from either group anyways. And given the CONFIRMED odd number of FP+ selections, the most logical tier to get the fewest is the top tier. Again, it could be the other way around, but testing and logic deem otherwise.

I believe I already posted this today or yesterday.

Well, obviously you could only use a FP+ if you were in the park...but could they allow making the reservations, so long as they have other verifiable info like a resort reservation?

Otherwise, this completely excludes every guest who gets their tickets at the park, some of which can only be obtained at the park. You've already said that no FP+s will be held for day-of use, so that implies that some classes of guests will still be shut out.

There will always be FP+ available the day of. People can switch out choices all day long. When people show up with no FP+ chosen, they will have plenty to choose from. The contention is that people won't have access to more than three, that is what he meant by not having FP+ day in addition to advanced choices. That is stated pretty clearly in the terms and conditions.

Of course the headliners will go very quickly with a limited supply to start with. Plenty haunted mansion and pirates will be available.

Thats why even though im staying off site i have faith that my tickets bought in advance and hopefully linked, ADR's and photopass will be enough!

My reservation generally says that already. Having a ticket doesn't make it any more likely I'll show up. If I cancel the reservation I booked FP+s through? Cancel the FP+s unless I've since attached a ticket.

I don't think there is much of a difference here whether it be by resort reservation or ticket number, as long as it's handled equitably.

But as it stands now, it seems to me that they've specifically excluded a class of guest, which although it may be a smaller group now, now has ZERO chance at a TSM FP+, whereas they at least had the same shot everyone else did if they were there at RD.

Again, just pointing this out.

But since you have this level of insight, what if I only have a 2-day ticket currently, but have a resort reservation for 10? How many days of FP+ can I book?

What if I'm an offsite guest with a 2-day ticket but intend to upgrade it to a 10-day ticket?

Either guests will be extremely limited in what they can book, or WDW is going to have to completely overhaul their ticket selling.

Actually those two items are most supported and valid. We have terms and conditions and V.P. affirming the first, and testing and mousermerf verified the second.

We only have verification of 3 prescheduled FP+'s and none on tiering. As previously stated by many on here they are foolish if they thought testing with simultaneous FP- was going to give them any real world info on the final system as described, and sorry I'm just not buying supposed secondhand knowledge. I'll have to see an official announcement.

MyMagic+ can see a room reservation - however, FP+ is tied to tickets. People do go to WDW and not set foot in the parks. FP+ is tied to tickets and the ticketing system. No ticket number (which a resort reservation with tickets will have) then no FP+.

I'm specifically talking about headliner FP+ like TSM and Soarin'. He's maintained that there will be NO FP+ held in reserve, which means that unless people give up their FP+s voluntarily for them, there will be non available - unless the most highly touted feature of the system is underutilized, which could deem it a failure.

And that's something that could change with time. I expect it will be underutilized in the short term which will make it difficult to judge the true effects for a while.

If they go to WDW and not set foot in the parks (and I know some that do - I've stayed at WDW a couple of times because it was cheaper than staying at Universal for some private events there, although I did have an AP at the time so I did spend a few hours at F&W but wouldn't have otherwise), they likely wouldn't book FP+s anyways, so it wouldn't matter. If they did, and did it habitually just as a way to mess with the system, Disney has plenty of info on who is doing it and can set penalties.

Again, all I'm saying is that by allowing booking on that ONE criteria, they are intentionally make it unfair for some.

Disney wants full price tickets purchased through them to be the majority of ticket sales. Guests hwo buy discounted tickets of any manner are giving up the perk.

Or at least the ones who need to get them same day at the park - those are "not a priority."

The ones who already have them form like Uncover Tourist will just enter the barcode number.

Making sure Yes tickets and CM tickets are able to get FP+ is not a priority.

Ok. And that last sentence is likely.

Now THAT is very interesting info. That implies that Military, YES, RunDisney, etc. guests can just forget about FP+.

I'm sure UT would love to hear that.

And there is your increased spending with WDW right there.

Edit: I see your followup...but still, some groups are being treated less-equally. YES program participants already had to swallow greatly increased ticket prices.

And that was an exit question on the surveys for the people who did the trial runs. Buying tickets through Disney only.

UT's tickets have the barcode.

If you want proof the barcode is the key, go to your profile, click edit, and add credential.. then do an AP. It's by Barcode now, not the old AP specific identifiers. Barcodes are on all tickets.

The VP didn't directly confirm the one and mousemerf hasn't shown the ability to confirm anything. The mere fact that he worked for the mouse nearly a decade ago does not prove that he knows everything that he claims. Sorry to be so blunt, by it is what it is.

Another thought with FP+, is that people will be "forced" to purchase their tickets at least 2 months earlier than they might usually to access FP+. We always purchase our AP upon arrival, however now we would have to purchase it 2-3 months earlier to be able to make ride reservations.

Obviously Disney was still going to get their money eventually. However by purchasing the ticket months in advance people would be more "committed" to coming

Yes he did, he said "the intent right now is 3, there may be surprises offered during people's trips later, but the set number right now is 3"

Or maybe ......just once......... you could use a round of FP for every family member to allow your Mountain crazed tween to ride Space over and over!

BWAAAHHHHAHHAHHAHAHH! pirate:

It's called "FAMILY FASTPASS PLUS"!

Your group would have the option to "pool" FP+'s to individual bracelets by day.

EX: Family of 6-bringing Grandparents. G&G have no interest in rides so the kids can select additional FP+'s to S Mountain.

Or a family of 4 with "generous" parents can select QTY 2 TSM for each kid (4 total).

Source-my DD asked if the new system would be like we have at Mall Of America? You just buy say...100 points and simply scan your barcode and it deducts for how many get on the ride.

How does the EVP saying "We are going to let the guests select up to three..." not directly confirm it?
