Omg, why would you go to Holy Land? That thing is awful - not for subject matter but sheerly what it is. It's like "South of the Border" type awful.

I was just tired of using Seaworld and U/IoA as examples, and I don't know much about Legoland, but I do see the Holyland from the highway. I just wanted to mix it up.

Now a whole bunch of people are going to go :offtopic: and bash you for ripping on the Holy Land. :)

Oh.. I didn't meant to crucify Holy Land, but it's hard not to when they do it every day at 3o'clock themselves.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I would be lost without my iPhone -- literally. Can't remember how I managed to get around before!

I know. :worried: I even get funny looks at the airport now. I do have an ipad, but that doesn't seem like a good idea to carry all over the parks.

This is definitely not the kinder and gentler mousermerf people are expecting you to be. lol.

If Disney is shunning their loyal fan base in favor of first timers, can we expect fewer "special offers?"

I still don't get how this statement can be made... at least at this point. :confused3

As someone who's been going to WDW regularly since 2004 (OK - plus 1 trip in 1994) -- and who wears the following credentials: AP, DVC, D23, TIW, and probably a few others I'm forgetting -- I don't yet feel "shunned".

Maybe I missed an announcement? ;)

OK what do have to have to get the apps??
I have a flip phone - I don't want a phone that connects to the internet (I don't want my monthly pymts going thur the roof)
so what do I need to buy to use in the parks for the extras?? please say there is something without a data plan::yes::

iPod Touch.

You could buy a used one, if you like.

Come on!! Join us on the Dark Side -- succumb to the iPhone -- you won't regret it! :darth:

So far it appears that I'll have to carry some electronic gadgetry whether I like it or not or at least make sure that DS goes. He has the right type of phone and can take care of this nonsense. That is if it becomes necessary for real.

Get a FP+ for the Rapunzel Meet and Greet, apparently it is going to be housed in a restroom. :confused3

:rotfl2:

I can see it now. You're standing in line to meet Rapunzel and you get a text. "We're holding stall number 3 for you if you come right now."

It could just be the hottest ticket in the entire park.

does it matter which generation??? I"m sure 5 is the best but would a 2 or 3 do???

I'd go with at least a 3rd Generation.

These things are basically an iPhone... without the PHONE.

It seems like people without Smart Phones (me) will be at a disadvantage. I know they said there will be kiosks in the parks, but if you have the app, you can make changes/get bonus FPs/etc... from anywhere. That part of it seems so cool to me.... maybe it's time to get a smart phone? I just can't handle the data cost!

You could just pick up an iPod touch.

2 or 3 has no camera or Siri.. And the app does not function very well.
I loaded the app the my DD 3rd gen iPod touch .

4 or 5 is best.. I just bought myself a 5th gen as a belated Xmas gift!
I love the camera on it.. I never thought I would use it in the park, but the camera takes better shots then my camera
The app works much smoother..
However if you are prone to dropping things.. 5 is much thinner the 4..

Also look into buying a case for which ever one you buy..
Not just a case that protects the back.. One that goes all they way around it.. Otterbox is a good choice..

I am with Reddy, I don't want the data plan, but ...

I can't quite figure out the friends feature of the MDE app, but if only one person has a phone and everyone in the friends feature has a separate account but are linked together - I think everyone would have to have a device so they could "confirm" the linked FPs. I really dislike the friends feature.

Ipod Touch with WiFi on eBay.

Take a look.

This is a good suggestion. I will put this on page one by the question: What do I do if I don't have an iphone.

My wife still has her old iphone (first generation - she has since moved on a few more times) that still picks up wi-fi! Maybe I can use that!!! Robo - once again - genius!

But, now I am thinking the operating system probably won't run the MDE webpage.
