Tomorrow I can make my FP choices. The only day I'm unsure about is day 1. We arrive in Orlando at 1110 am and then ME to Boardwalk Villas. Even if the room is not ready we head over to Epcot for a couple of hours. Dinner at Cape May at 545. Another consideration is that I have to stop at the gate to activate our APs and buy a TIW card.
Would I be good having a FP from 2-3, or should I bump it to 230-330? I would like to ride maybe test track that afternoon (they redid right after our last visit) and use one for Illuminations viewing after dinner. We have a full Epcot day planned on day 6 so we will book soarin and MS that day..

Illuminations FP+ is not really necessary.

Illuminations FP+ is not really necessary.

I know, but since I'm saving the other big rides for later why not? If it saves me from a horde of people standing in front of me it's worth it.

But, it won't necessarily do that.
There are only a very scarce few "front row"
positions in the IllumiNations FP+ section.

Also, many guests want to ride a favorite "big ride" more than once per trip.

But what the heck do I know?
I'm new here. ;)

I am booking Test Track . That is my Tier 1 choice. The only other favorite is Soarin'. I'll save it for later. It's our first day so we don't want to be rushed. My question involves the timing of the FP, NOT a critique of my choices.
I'm not new here either Robo; this is our 14th trip since 2000. I just don't post much unless I am in planning mode. Get over yourself.

2-3 will probably work, 30 minutes later may work better. Given the Tier 2 selections you'd apparently be choosing from, it's not going to be a big difference.

Ok forget any other FPs for the first day. The main question is what time is doable for the first one given my arrival time and dinner time?

I think your timing is fine as long as your flight is on time. I also think Robo was just trying to be helpful. I understand you weren't asking that particular question but you did give the information.

I am not sure what you are asking. It sounds like you have figured out what you want to use the FP+ for. The timing is what would make things most convenient for you. I don't think that the difference between a FP starting at 2 or 2:30 is going to be a big difference.

IF you are so "not new here" and Robo should really "get over (him)self" then you wouldn't need to ask this question.

I have only been going since 2011, and only on the boards for a bit over a year ... but your question is pretty easy to answer.

:confused3

Seriously, copping attitude with people trying to answer your rather unclear question... nice.

I made our first FP+ on our arrival day for an attraction I would not mind missing, just in case our plane is delayed or something comes up. Since you have to make 3 selections to make any, I chose the earlier one for a ride I would not mind riding later in the week. It is my understanding you are not penalized for not using a FP selection.

I would do the later time. It may not matter, but then you won't have to worry about ME taking forever, or a slow check-in derailing your plans.

Wow - not necessary. You were asking for opinions and one was given. It was not necessary to be...well...mean. There are nicer ways to say, thanks but no thanks on that strategy. Now lets all be a little kinder .... :upsidedow

I think I would book 2:30 - 3:30 pm given what you need to accomplish prior to getting into the park - ME, checking in, walking to EP, AP's, TIW, walking to TT, etc.

Have fun!

To be fair, Robo was a bit condescending and snarky with that last bit
