I realize it will be purely guessing at this point, but does anyone venture to guess IF FP+ will be offered for either/both rides in SW:GE by March 2020? If this were to happen, do you feel like any of the current Tier 1 rides would drop down to Tier 2?

If you go in and look at FP availibilty for tomorrow there's still quite a bit available for Tier 1 rides.. so I think its possible one or two would move to tier 2-- maybe alien swirly saucers and ToT?

I can't answer your question about SWGE having FP by March 2020... I think December will be telling once the new ride opens.

Purely a guess, but no, I don't think SWGE will have FP by March. I'm thinking more next fall.

And I do wonder if they will do a 3 tier system. Their attractions seem perfect for it.
Tier 1: RotR, Smugglers Run, Slinky, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway
Tier 2: AS2, Toy Story Mania, ToT, RnRC
Tier 3: everything else

This makes great sense as even 30 day booking window would get a couple nice rides . But saying that as it makes sense it probably wont happen :)

One thing to consider...

Since Smuggler's Run opened, and they made all other rides (except Star Tours) tier one, look what we've seen for wait times across all the rides. At virtual all hours of the day, all rides have very similar wait times, including Smuggler's Run. SDD trends to be 5-10 minutes more, but still in the same ball park. I'd maintain, that Disney has successfully spread the crowds pretty evenly across all the rides in the park, and actually makes the case that it's FP+ that really causes long wait times.

If Disney looks at the data that way, they could well decide that FP+ isn't needed for Smuggler's Run, Rise of the Resistance, or Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railcar at all, and just keep all the other rides as tier 1.

Just a thought.

I expect it will be summer at the earliest, but when it does:
My guess:
Tier 1 SDD, ROTR, MFSR, TSMM? , Mickeys Runaway Railcar
Tier 2 everything else

Not sure Sugglers Run lends itself very well to having a fastpass. Each party is made up of 6 crew members. You already have a single riders line. You'd have CM working hard to integrate the 3 lines. Just saying.

I doubt it.
If they were going to reset tiers when ROTR opened, we’d already know. So they’re waiting to see what happens.
Then Once ROTR opens, they’ll want at least a few weeks to judge the crowd. Whatever changes they make can’t take effect for 104 days due to the club level FP opening that far out. So that puts us into April. I’m guessing tiers will reset instead when MMRR opens.

People who know things on WDWMagic have claimed it’s ROTR, MMRR, and MFSR for Tier 1.
I have a lot of trouble believing they won’t toss SDD into that as well.

The good news is that those three rides are going to add an enormous number of FPs to the total hourly ride FPs available; it’s going to roughly double. it’s going to feel more like MK where you can regularly get good FPs day of and sometimes you’ll find great FPs as well.

It would just be the same as Test Track. FP and SB merge, single rider to fill in the holes.

I have long felt that FP+ caused long wait times across the board. Prior to FP+ the E-ticket rides of course had long wait times but many other rides, like POTC had relatively short wait times.

I actually am very much against the scenario you suppose here. I find it much simpler and rewarding to use the FP+, and I do not think I am in the minority. Having all of these rides in the same Tier 1 status literally makes HS closer to a half day park in my opinion that ever before. Hoping the change it back at some point VERY SOON.

You've forgotten that there is a merge point. By the time people arrive at the point where CMs are assigning anything, you're down to a single line (other than single rider which makes it easier on CMs since they can fill empty spots from that.)
