FP+ questions... Really lost

But my guess is given past experience that they might be crazy enough to start with Spring Break.

Fast Pass enforcement began on March 7, 2012.

Do you suppose they wanted to take this transition step one year before rolling out FP+?

Disclaimer: This is total speculation. (But I am keenly interested in all spec on this topic right up to our March 13, 2013, arrival.)

That's what I meant by "past experience" :) I would have never made a change like that during a busy period - but they did.

Another question..

We have booked a room only ressie...with transport on ME.. And ticket only for DD (6)

We are planning to buy AP.... so we left our tickets off.. If we get a email to sign us up for a trial of FP+
Will I be able to?
Or b/c we will be AP holders it would not work?

WAY too early to know anything. I wouldn't plan on being part of any trial, period.

I just had a horrible thought.......

What if one week the limited time magic is switching over to the new FP+..... :-(

The 2 tests so far were based solely on ME users. So I would think you'd have the same shot as anyone else.

But the odds of them doing another test during your dates are so slim, I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it.

This may have been discussed previously and I tried to find it. But is there any word if this new service comes with a fee?

I mean, Disney World is the only theme park I've visitied where fast past is FREE. Our six flags, water parks and even other Orlando parks all charge, so I'm just wondering if that's been mentioned anywhere? Like when reserving your vacation, you can add park hopper to your tickets and/or you can add FP+ in which you will be given the FP+ card at check in.

No word YET. But because of all you listed, this is why I personally believe it will be reserved for on-site guests (at first).

Absolutely no indications that there will be a fee charged right now - however, it may be offered for a fee for those who otherwise are no eligible - we just don't know who that is yet, so it's pure speculation.

Just like everything else about this topic, there have been rumors about pay-for-play FP+, but no one knows for sure until Disney rolls this out officially.

This blog post about the FP+ experience test run makes it sound exciting and how it could have been if it was all about creating a unique customer experience. But it looks drastically different now based on the terms and conditions of My Disney Experience. I think the next trial run would be to test it with the real rules. It would be a much different experience.

As long as they still have the FP- and tables in wonderland I'm good..
Just don't start FP+ the week I'm there... The confused people stopping right in front of you would just cause my DH to lose it..

It is entirely possible that "fee" could come in the form of greatly reduced room discounts.

Those devilish little details would make a difference, wouldn't they?

There has been a lot of farily positive feedback about the system thus far. However most of what I've heard is cavieted with "plus you can still use the regular FP as well". I wonder how enthueastic people will be if all they have is their 4 FP+ reservations and can't use the regular FP system. I wouldn't want to participate unless it only effect one day of my trip (and not even 100% sure about that), but I'm not even sure how they could work that.

We were part of the test run in early December. We were able to choose different rides and available times. For MK - it worked out fine. We did not use the Splash Mountain FP. It just did not work out for where we were in the park.
The second day was supposed to be at HS. The night before we decided to go to a different park so did not use any of the FP's.

I can see where it has advantages. We know what rides we want to go on well before we head to Florida. The disadvantage is if you change your mind last minute on what park you are visiting and lose the advantage of the FP.

It was nice to just "show up" at the ride and not have to hit the ride with your tickets to get the FP.

There were special viewing areas for fireworks and parade (I think parade was in it.) We did not select any of those so can't say how that would have worked out.

I am looking forward to seeing how this all turns out.

I was on site 12 days end of may and early June in 2012. With a long trip, I had plenty of time to do everything I wanted and maybe could have dealt with limited fastpasses. But usually I get 5 day stays, in those cases I try to get more in. Length of stay could impact comfort levels with the FP + system.

I feel really bad for those people that sign up without reading the details... And the get to the park to find out they will only get those 4 FP+ and no FP
