We are going to WDW May 9 - 16. Our FP date is Midnight March 10th (fast approaching). With a 5 year old girl, A&E is a must do, as will be the new Epcot ride. Assuming that the announcement for the new openings comes after March 10th (seems likely), what do I do? Book the FP for A&E at MK and then try to change it to Epcot A&E once announced? Is there some method that WDW handles a FP if someone is booked for one and then move that activity to a different park?

Same question for the new show and night time safari at AK. Book what we want and then hope we can race and change our FP once announced?

The Anna and Elsa ride is not looking to be open for your dates. As for AK I would book now and change later.

I assume that A&E will stay at MK until the new Epcot ride is opened? Safe assumption?

We have almost the same exact dates and we're just planning on getting an A&E in MK and dealing with any changes if they arise. I know the new ride probably won't be open and if it is I don't expect to be able to get FP+ that late notice. I made an 8am Akershus ADR on our Epcot day incase we needed it, assuming Norway would open early because of the new attractions. One thing I have learned about FP+s is that nothing is for sure. We went last year and made Wishes viewing FP+s like 60 days out. We were meeting up with friends and they decided to do Wishes too maybe like 30-25 days before. Day of those FP+s both of our groups get emails from Disney saying they had to cancel them for an undisclosed reason. Later that day the group we were traveling with got an email saying basically just kidding, here is your wishes FP+ back. My family never got that email and never got it back. Made no sense to me :confused3

I don't have any special news here. But I would've personally thought it would have made sense to open the new Norway ride/experience on or around Norwegian Independence Day (Syttende mai), which is the 17th of May. Would have been a special way to do it.

The ride doesn't have anything to do with Norway so I don't think that would've made much sense.

It does automatically when it's in the Norway Pavilion, doesn't it?

Not really, the ride is all about the movie and has nothing to do with the country. I don't think Disney has ever done anything for a Norwegian holiday.

They have done small things in observance of the holiday. Special merchandise for that day, for example. Special menu items for the day in the restaurant. Nothing big, mind you. But there if you know what to look for. Not sure what they do anymore. I really wish they would just quit calling the pavillion Norway, if that isn't what it is. Just call it Scandinavia. Or whatever it is they want it to be. It's just misleading and confusing. Kids are already struggling putting history together as it is, without the Pocahantas or other historical fudging going on...

I am actually wondering if they will keep the area called Norway or if they will change it once all of the Frozen attractions are complete. I could see them calling it Arendelle, or maybe Scandinavia to reflect the area.

They have been careful to keep the external theming consistent with Norway. I don't think they plan on changing the country name.

That would be the ultimate of ironies...considering the whole idea here is a wet fish across the face of the Epcot theme/concept in general

The Disney suits and accountants don't have have that kind of a warped sense of humor...
