FP+ off site help

I always stay onsite so I am not too familiar with off site info. I have a friend going xmas week and they are renting a house. they are going to buy park tickets from a recommended ticket vendor and not from DW. tell me if this is correct info?

she sets up a my Disney experience
when she gets her park tix, she loads in the number on them?
then at the 30 day mark, she can book fastpasses?

I was just confused if the tickets will load in "MDE" since they wont be purchased from Disney.

That's the general idea, yes. And other tickets work fine with MDE.
