FP+ is now completely worthless if you are staying offsite.

I'll re-post what I did at about 10:30 this morning.

1- I really want to know
2- I think it got lost in so much pleasantness

I'm sorry, but I'm really not understanding what you're asking. Can you rephrase it? ( This is snark free, kind of like dolphin-safe tuna).

:lmao: The name of the thread is " FP+ is now completely worthless if you are staying offsite. " So why are some posters even responding here as they are adamant this scenario will NEVER apply to them ? Better ?

My, aren't we testy? Disney is not forcing anyone to spend their vacation dollars with them. If you don't like it, there's a simple solution...don't go, or go to DLR where the legacy FP is still in existence. Getting angry and attacking people on a discussion board does nothing to change the situation. All it does is get you heated and stressed.

Oh I'm not angry not attacking. Just tired of the foolishness of "if you don't line it don't go". Obviously people can go elsewhere. Yes they can go to universal or dl or Tokyo. But those aren't wdw are they? They don't have the same park, or attractions advertised at wdw.

People who don't get that families want to do things because of the advertising done by disney are missing the big picture. Intentionally or not. Lecturing them because they should just be happy with whatever is like telling you that you should be satisfied with whatever poor service you receive when you go out and spend your money.

If I were Disney, I'd be very concerned right now in regards to how the entire FP+ "test" (assuming it's still a test, right?) has the ability to cause such ******* among otherwise nice, loyal, fun loving people.

It's not limited to these DIS boards. I happen to stumble across the UK version of WDW forums (www.thedibb.co.uk) and they aren't very happy campers either.

This isn't about a few disgruntled customers anymore.

I'll speak for myself- because it's a blanket statement that I believe to be patently false and if no one posted except for those that agree with it, newbies and first time visitors might actually believe it.

At least that's the original intent-

"Standing up for the little guy." Even though it benefits on-siters to have an extra month to book without off-siters in competition for those FPs, that doesn't mean that some of us can't relate to their plight and think that's it's a pretty crappy situation for them.

Makes sense, and thank YOU.

Ever looked at the forums on WDWMagic.com?

Yes, but I was surprised to see that many of the complaints from "across the pond" were similar to those made from right here in the US.

Even some of the changes in guest behavior appear to be universal, probably to the chagrin of WDW execs.

For example:

"We have visited disney for over 20 years and I can honestly say due to the new system we spent more time away from disney than ever before."

Unless you ever stay offsite, which you have stated you never will, than how can you really have a true picture of how difficult it is? Yes it's a blanket statement I agree but I don't think it is patently false., it borders on
completely worthless for anything that is popular. The odds of getting it are drastically lower when there is a 30 day handicap.

People get/buy/hoard multiple MB and put FPs on ALL of them.
Some people book "throw away" ressies just for the MB and then cancel the ressie.

Sometimes, I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box! Honestly, I can't answer that since I have stayed both on site and off site. Most likely I will never stay on site again because I do not want to financially support the direction WDW is going.

This post makes me think of that car insurance ad with the old lady sharing her vacation photos on her "wall"

"That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works."

It is clear from your post count that you are a longtime regular...are you still confused on how the DIS boards mentality functions? We are all experts and all our opinions are the only correct ones. a subject like this is just begging the opposite opinion to come set them straight...chumming the waters.

We stay onsite and I could not disagree more. Offsite guests pay just as much for tickets and should not be relegated to leftovers.

Disney offends this segment of their business at their own peril.

Why? I predicted about two or so years ago that WDW's intent is to fill the parks with onsite guests (resort and DVC) and off-site guests would be lucky to just get in the gates.

Thank you Cakebaker, I'm glad you have the devine right on the boards to declare that something is "patently false" when you have never stayed off site and never tried booking FP+ with a 30 day window.

It's nice to know that first time visitors and newbies can count on you to set things straight! This of course is based on your personal off site experience.

That's not just this site, that's the whole internet. That's the basis for Cunningham's Law.

Couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2

And this is making it even worse for them.

Having multiple MBs doesn't get you more than 3 FPs per day. You get new MBs every time you make a reservation, so if it worked that way, anyone who's gone more than once since MBs were introduced would be able to get more than 3 per day. MBs are just a way to access the information on your MDE account; there's nothing "on" them.

Big surprise. Really. OMG I didn't see this coming at all!!!!! Its my 30 day window, I sign in for my fast pass selections at midnight eastern time, but lo and behold everything good has "ended for the day".
This includes:
1. 7DMT
2. Meet and Greet with Anna and Elsa
3. Enchanted Tales with Belle
4. Main Street Electrical Parade
5. Festival of Fantasy Parade

So basically, unless you stay onsite, you will not get fast passes to anything really good, because the onsite peeps with their 60 day window get to pick and choose first. So now, after 9 years of multiple Disney trips a year, I am left with the left overs.

Later baby. This is our last Disney trip. It was fun. Now it just sucks, and its a waste of money. Maybe we will manage to receive some leftover scraps and my daughter will be able to meet Anna and Elsa at the Christmas party or something.

This has been this way for a while now. You have to do your homework to get those FP's. And I say that as someone who tried and was barely able to get them. I wish I had added then removed several days on the front end of my reservation in order to get better availability for those every day of our recent vacation.
