STOP. Take a breath and relax and just stop. You really need some perspective. You...are....out...of....control. Seriously. I despise using the block feature, but I'm pretty much of the idea that it's the only thing that's going to stop you.

Yeah I think the back and forth is a bit tiring. I am guessing the person misinterpreted my intent in that post and I'm going to leave it at that.

Great go for it. But it won't stop: Itchn2go, Magicbob, and Luvchefmic from calling you out on your posts (to name a few).
Remain self-righteous and all knowing. Humility and openenss to other's viewpoints is entirely overrated!

Actually, I think that's pretty much naming them all. :lmao: And I am truly shocked to see that particular bunch doesn't like what I say. :rotfl2:

You sure have accumulated a lot of adjectives for me this morning- a nice way of saying you're on a run of name calling that's legendary. I kinda like all knowing tho...thanks!

And with that, I will let you have the last word. Your little game is tiring and I'm being rude to other people on this thread cluttering it with this nonsense.

I can't speak for any individual but some people are frustrated. They are seeing things happening that make them unhappy or worried and explaining to them why they are wrong isn't changing that. I admit to some irritation with that approach myself but I see that as normal and I usually just let it all roll off my back. I'm not wrong but then neither is anyone else.

You are right about me misiterpreting your intent and I apologize. I also apologize you perceived my response as being nasty. That was not my intention.

They also tested this on Soarin', and TSMM - both rides that have been around for 5+ years and whose popularity has not declined. WDW isn't testing this option for no reason. What their endgame is, we can only guess, but I think it is a bit wishful thinking to think that these tests will just go away. People thought similar things about the tiers when they were introduced, and those haven't gone away..
yeah thats funny how popular Toy Story and Soarin' still are. Especially Soarin
with its outdated scratchy film… I can't imagine A&E longevity…and 7MD I rode once and think it pales compared to BTM or Splash….I know its a kiddie ride but let em wait for the two minute thrill…More room on Splash and BTM..(no greed intended!)

No, you aren't wrong. There are ways to minimize the problems some people have, but there are some that it just doesn't work no matter what they try. For those, I really do feel for them because I know most people here really have a deep love for WDW and it's sad when it changes to something that no longer works for you.

I wouldn't underestimate A&E. I've never seen kids react to something the way I've seen them react to this. I was subbing in 2nd grade one morning, and it was time for the kids to go to math centers...1/2 the class to 1 center, 1/2 to the other. One 1/2 was creating patterns with blocks on the floor, and they all (probably 8-9 kids) started spontaneously singing Let it Go while they were working.

ETA: I'm a music teacher by certification, so I can attest that it is generally not all that easy to get 2nd graders singing something all together, all in tune. Spontaneously bursting out in song in class is not something I'd generally classify as typical for 2nd graders.

I think this is something that's going to stick with them..even moreso than Little Mermaid/BatB/Aladdin/Lion King stuck with my generation.

Just an aside...my daughter is a music teacher as well k-12 and she sees the same sort of thing.

I agree, I can't tell you what it is that has cause this phenomenon, wish I could. I'd bottle it and make a fortune.

I don't look for it to go away anytime soon.

Wow!
Don't tell anybody but I went solo last month and since all the buzz was A&E I booked a fast pass. (Im a 56 single guy)…When I got to the front of the line I started to freak out and felt stupid cause it was all families and little girls.. I was about to turn and flee when just then Anna or was it Elsa came over to me and took me by the hand. I lied to her and said it was for a friends daughter who loves her and she asked what her name was (see how lying gets you in trouble)….anyway they were so sweet to me I felt no longer like a weirdo..
I took my photos and got outa there.
Hey when in Rome I always say!
PS I like your posting style..a refreshing change from all the sniping on this thread.

Wait until you hear the song from Big Hero 6, "Let'er Blow".

Put Soarin and TSMM in the same park as Splash and BTMRR and I don't think you''ll have the same lines. That's what you see in DCA. It's been stated over and over that both Spcot and DHS suffer from a lack of major attractions (At this point, DHS hardly has any rides at all.) FP+ and it's tiers just highlight this problem. We hear rumors that they may be addressing this at DHS, but Future World need attention too.

Oh please. No one os saying that their life will end if they can't get a fp+. But all vacations and most of life has expectations. There is an expectation caused by disney that you will be able to ride rides when you visit their parks. Making it more difficult for a family to do so stinks. And causes disappointment. They will still have a good time more than likely. They will enjoy the atmosphere etc. To suggest they won't because they are disappointed is offensive and condescending. Fp+ has made planning a pain in the butt. For the family going for a once in a lifetime trip it is chalk full of hope and expectations. It is easy for me to say that if I don't get to ride such and such ride it isn't a big deal. I probably rode last year and probably will again next. But if I had a 5 year old girl who was just the right age to meet and adore a princess or a 7 year old boy ripe for a Jedi battle is be stressing to make sure it happened of I could. Because it would be a kick to experience it with them. Not rocket science. And no reason to feel like you are a better person because you don't want to ride or see something specific.
My, aren't we testy? Disney is not forcing anyone to spend their vacation dollars with them. If you don't like it, there's a simple solution...don't go, or go to DLR where the legacy FP is still in existence. Getting angry and attacking people on a discussion board does nothing to change the situation. All it does is get you heated and stressed.

My, aren't we testy?

I can see his point. Taking my whole family to Disney this NYE I feel a great deal of pressure to plan it just right so they have the best, most memorable experience possible. I get to go into a Disney park at least 21 days a year. I'll get frustrated or annoyed if I cannot do something, but I know I'll come back later. My family gets to visit a couple days every couple years.

To them not being able to go on an attraction that day means maybe never getting that experience. The stakes are so much higher for the rare visitor. That's why first time visitors often become one-and-done visitors. They find the experience too frustrating and disappointing to repeat. In every other business if you cannot get a repeat customer you are in huge trouble.

Well said! My DD and DSiL are taking their 3yo and 6 month old next month and it is sad to see them feeling disappointed before they even get there. Now she has grown up going to WDW every 5 years in her childhood and also several trips as a young adult, so she knows they will have a fun time- this little family has been facing very difficult circumstances lately, so just being together and spending time together will be great. But the feeling of 'we'll just do what we can and make the most of it' is not how any of us has EVER felt about WDW before, so it is a big adjustment for many of us. I have my fingers crossed that things will go well for them, but she is already feeling stressed about the timing constraints with all the scheduling.

Wow!

So funny, tim123! When I went for my 50th (too many years ago now;)), I spent a morning at MK on my own while my family slept in an I did the lines for all my fav characters with my birthday button on. In all my trips for over 30 years I had never stood in a character line by myself, so at first I felt odd, too - but the characters were so awesome to me:thumbsup2 - and those pictures remain some of my all time favs. Pretty sure my kids will be displaying them some day at my funeral (and having a good laugh at them)!!LOL

Very sage advice. We wouldn't want anyone foaming at the mouth and having an aneurysm from flying off the handle in a fit of rage...

Look, I can't help it if you want to take the phrase "more than a few" and make it mean more than what "more than a few" really means. We don't both know what I meant- unless you can read minds. I know what I meant, and I said exactly what I meant.

It's always better to be honest and if I thought the vast majority of negative reports were just whiners and complainers, that's exactly what I'd say. Since it isn't, I don't. You're the one who for some reason, unknown to me, wants to take what I say and turn it into what you want it to be. That's your problem buddy, not mine, and I'm sick of it.

Honestly, at this point, I don't give a flip what you're tired of. But I don't do what you're tired of so get off my case about it and gripe at the people who do it. Your problem is you don't like anything anyone has to say that's positive about fp+.

Thank goodness a vast majority of those who don't like it, understand that it works well for others and they don't begrudge them that. You do.

And just for the record, I don't care who agrees with you and who doesn't. This isn't a poll.

Oops.

I'll re-post what I did at about 10:30 this morning.

1- I really want to know
2- I think it got lost in so much pleasantness

I have a question: Why even post on a thread that is titled:

FP+ is now completely worthless if you are staying offsite.

If you ( anyone ) is of the mind that you will never stay offsite ? It would be like me posting on a site that has nothing to do with me. What would be the purpose? What is gained for the offsiters to be told how wonderful it is to stay onsite, go to DLR, Universal or other Disney properties around the world ?

No snarkiness I really would like to understand the reasoning :confused3
