If you read what I was replying to it is about Disney giving more perks to the people who pay more by staying at the delux resort over value
IMO what resort you can afford to stay at shouldn't have any impact on the service and/Or experience inside the park because at the actual park you are paying the same price
So in other words a "rich" person who can afford to stay at a deluxe resort shouldn't get extra fp because of it
I didn't know there were socialists in America!
You are not talking about the same thing as meThe FP system is available to all people. The NextGen system is available to people who pay more. The experience at the park is not based on regular vs Nextgen which is what you are equating this to. It isn't like normal people get 1 FP per day and rich people get unlimited FPs.
What you are saying is enforcing FP times is disenfranchising the little people.
Enforcing FPs =\= Taking away FPs
ExactlyHey chucklehead. The person who made the post is in no way a socialist, (by the way chill out) what they are saying is everyone, whether staying on property or not, is paying the same price to enter the park and as such should be treated the same while in said park regardless of where they are staying. What is just is just. But as I stated before it is all about the almighty buck. Walt is dead, Roy is dead and this would make both spin in their respective graves. This is not a political forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ArchOwl said:They haven't started enforcement at DL yet, but there are rumors they will begin soon.
I hate getting pulled into these threads but here goes...currently FP lines for rides are longer in the evening than in the morning due to the return end time not being enforced. With return times enforced, then the FP lines should be constant during the day (assuming for a constant stand by line).
I hate getting pulled into these threads but here goes...
If people with FPs in the afternoon don't use their FPs during the specified windows - and come back in the evening - then what happens? What happens is the midday standby lines are shorter because standby gets to move faster. If afternoon standby is shorter what does that mean? It means the evening standby is shorter by the same amount. In other words, people who ride standby during the evening enter a shorter line than would otherwise exist because the midday lines were shorter.
If extra FP folks return late in the evening the standby folks have not lost any ground. Their line was shorter in the first place. If it gets longer because of late FP usage they are just back to where they would have been in the first place.

Maybe it's just me - but I wonder about the wisdom of trying to enforce this (longstanding, yet unwritten policy) during the busiest, and supposed to be happiest, time of the year![]()
I completely disagree with your logic.
I agree. I think Fastpass should be enforced, but this is not the time of year to start it. They should be doing it in late January into February when it is less busy.

I know the devil's advocate in me says that this is precisely when FP times need to be enforced - however - I think they risk making a lot of people frustrated and upset by trying to enforce this policy during the holiday season.
Many people use this loophole to tour effectively and enjoyably and have done so for many years. Those who aren't glued to the DIS will undoubtedly be quite upset at being turned away from an attraction for showing up later than their assigned time. Combine that with the heightened expectations that come with the holiday season, and we could have a lot of angry folks.
I'm going on the 16th, so I guess I will wait and see......![]()

It was said tongue in cheek - I think you're the one who needs to chill, chucklehead!
Except for the fact that the question that is being asked is being asked on a false premise. Nothing issued from Disney has said this is happening, much less happening now.But OP asks a legitimate question...why now? Can anyone shed some light other than to say, "Well, its about time!"?
I've heard they are starting the 4th of December.
Still curious where you heard this from. Thanks!Where did you hear this, please?
Thanks,
Dreams
Well, with a FP, you could go to the machine, find out what the return time is that FPs are being issued for at that time. Or, you could use the stand by line at the precise time you want to ride. IF they start enforcing return times. That stinks, especially if you like to ride certain rides in the evening. For example, I like to ride RSR in the evening. How can I time it, so that my Fastpass is valid at night, when it runs out so quickly?
Awww there is so much magic in that park. We were wandering around Carsland last night to see the Christmas decor and if a snow car doesn't make you smile, then I don't know what does. The magic isn't in a FP usage time. It's all over the Parks. And it definitely exists still.Ugh. I know they're a money making machine, but I grew up going to DL (my grandparents lived in Anaheim, and my grandfather was one of the welders that worked on the Matterhorn), and the magic that used to be there just isn't there anymore. And it's slipping away more quickly every year....
Exactly.I still haven't seen any substantiation of the rumor.
Two problems with that logic:I hate getting pulled into these threads but here goes...

Again, there is nothing from Disney that says they are going to be enforcing it at DLR as of right now.Maybe it's just me - but I wonder about the wisdom of trying to enforce this (longstanding, yet unwritten policy) during the busiest, and supposed to be happiest, time of the year

Hey chucklehead....
Ummm... you two may want to review the DISBoards' rules regarding name calling. Just a suggestion. It was said tongue in cheek - I think you're the one who needs to chill, chucklehead!
We were there earlier this week and rode RSR first thing then got FP's for 10:00-11:00 am. We were really hungry and had planned on going to Riverbelle terrace for breakfast after EMH so were not going to be in DCA at our return time. We returned at about 2:00 to use our FP's and I admit, I was a bit nervous as we approached the CM because the people in front of us had been turned back for being 5 mins early but he didn't say anything to us at all and just waved us through. This was on a monday and it may change if the park is busier or it's a weekend but that was our experience.I'll admit I haven't read all the replies. Is DCA e enforcing fp return times right now, specifically for RSR? We had a fp return for 10-11 and of course my 4 yo had a meltdown and didn't want to go on. Can we go back later to ride?
